I still have room for a Navigator and an Astropath in the game. If I do not get one I will just wing it.

I enjoyed mine, and then there are the characters that weren't Seneschal's and ended up having to do their duties.  One of these days I'll just have to make another one again so I can actually do the job right...

On behalf of our GM there is a need for a couple replacement characters.  We are only 161 posts in and are looking for some dedicated players to step in.  I think our voidmaster and rogue trader are both up for grabs.

Hey, I'm new to the game, but have bought a lot of books and have memorised most of the rules, and have a bunch of character ideas, any chance of finding a game?

I would prefer to play Arch-Militant, Explorator, Missionary or Void Master.

Re: RT: Players needed

"Oh Eternal God Emperor: who alone spreadest out the heavens and rulest the raging of the warp:
Who hast compassed with bounds until day and night come to an end:
Be pleased to recieve into thy Almighty and most gracious protection the souls of thy servants and the fleet in which we serve:
Preserve us from the dangers of the void and the violence of the enemy:
That we may be a safeguard unto our fellow man and his dominions and a security for such as pass through the void upon their lawful occasions:
That the inhabitants of our Imperium may serve thee our Saviour and that we may return in triumph with the fruits of our labours:
And with a thankful remembrance of thy mercies to praise and glorify thy Holy Name:
Through thine eternal rule:
Ave Imperator"

 - Common prayer among the Fleet.

Even amongst the stars and the silent void of space there is only war. Horrors lurk there that threaten the very existence of the Holy Imperium of Man. Brutish Orks, insidious Eldar and the unrelenting followers of Chaos, to name only a few. Only the might of the glorious Imperial Navy bars their way. Powerful ships, crewed by brave men and women who's stories of thankless struggle and sacrifice keeps the hounds from the door and ensures that the gears keep turning.
One such tale of heroism is that of the frigate Fiery Redemption, and her crew, stationed within the Calixis Battlefleet to guard the sector from alien incursions, pirate raids and the like. This is their story...
___________________________________________________________________________

This will be a game using the WH40kRPG Rogue Trader rules published by FFG, but with a twist. Players will take on the roles of the senior officers aboard the Imperial frigate, Fiery Redemption.
I am a big fan of the movie Master and Commander and the Hornblower series and would like the game to have the same mood and themes as those two.
So if this sparks an interest then head on over and throw me an RTJ.

This game will be a modded form of Rogue Trader in which the players take on the roles of officers in the Imperial Navy instead of Traders. So far we've got our captain, a feisty arch-militant and a young lieutenant. So if that sounds like it could be fun to you, throw me an RTJ. The game is rated Mature.

Re: RT: Players needed

I have some openings in my Rogue Trader game, namely for a Voidmaster, Arch militant, and to a lesser extent an astropath and a navigator though those two positions are just fine with NPC's.

The game is already in progress and we already have a Kroot so we don't need any more of those.

Re: RT: Players needed

.
The Rogue Trader is dead, murdered in his own ship by his own servitors and suddenly the normal, mundane routines of shipboard life have gone out the airlock. The Lament completes is  journey under tight security lock down and is boarded on arrival at ‘Stone’s Throw’ by Arbitrators, family reps, government agencies in a variety of flavours and finally, an inquisitorial investigation team.
.
Forgoing the usual laying in state and protracted period of morning, family interests rush through the new investiture, determined to see the Pious Lament back in action within days rather than the months that would normally be expected. Most of the ships senior staff, all close friends who have served with the dead Trader for decades, take the opportunity to retire, or are reallocated elsewhere in the in the dynasty’s operation and fresh blood steps up to the mark.
.
For the moment I am just looking for a new Rogue Trader. If you have an interest in playing here in some other capacity then feel free to let me know but I won’t be recruiting the other characters for at least a week.
.
There are some restrictions on the Rogue Trader character, he, or she will have to be the nephew or niece of the dead captain and carry the dynasty name, Velspar. The character would have been serving in a junior capacity on the Pious Lament while being groomed for leadership. The character’s uncle, Lord Harington Velspar, was well respected, both by his crew and the Imperial authorities who frequently called upon him to carry out work on their behalf. The new trader does not have to have the same attitudes but that is what’s expected of him or her by the family. If there is more than one applicant, the character will be chosen on the basses of which fits best into the game I have in mind.
.
I'll be assesing the aplicants over the weekend, so there is no rush, and in a weeks time, I will be recruiting the rest of the team, with teh help of the Rogue Trader. Any applicants who have not been successful in becoming the Rogue Trader will be given first consideration as part of his crew.
.
If you are interested please supply a just brief character synopsis, I am more interested in attitudes of the character and his player than the nuts and bolts. Feel free to include anything relevant about yourself, playing experience and such like, and also, if you’d like to play another roll should you not be successful, which you would prefer.
.
Thanks for your interest, I hope to hear from you soon.

Re: RT: Players needed

.
Hello again, I have my Rogue Trader for the game above and I’m now looking to fill the rest of the slots.

In my vision of the game, the ship is not just a big transport to take you from adventure to adventure, you will most likely have shipboard duties and obligations. If you are an Arch Militant, for instance, you will probably be landed with organising the ships security and offensive troops, and leading them in battle should the necessity arise. Also, I don’t expect the entire command crew to leave the ship to explore some interesting planet, space hulk, or whatever; you have a hundred thousand people at your disposal, give or take and this is not Star Trek.

There will be occasions for going ashore as a team, though the navigator might struggle to find an excuse and might be run as an NPC.

Characters can be created from the main rule book and Into the Storm, but must be human. Just a brief character concept is all that’s needed initially.

Thanks for your interest and hope to hear from you soon.

Sorry, the game is now full.

Re: RT: Players needed

I wanted to gauge interest in a RT type game that I have been tinkering around with for some time. Instead of the traditional RT types, it would be an Imperial navy game where everyone would take the roles of different personnel over the ship (this version would be something big, like grand cruiser) or where everyone would be the captain (Rogue trader class or something else to match) of different size ships that would be part of a fleet. Any takers? and if so, which idea appeals more.

That could be real interesting.  ^^  I'd be up for it, but I'm suprised no one else spoke up, RT's popular.

I'm guessing it's a mixture of christmas/upcoming exams for students.

Re: RT: Players needed

Rogue Trader, Situations Vacant

The following positions are currently available on the Battle cruiser ‘Pious Lament’.

Rank 2
   High Factotum
Rank 3
   Master of Ordinance
   Chief Chirurgen (Top Medic)
   Master of Whispers
   Warp Guide
Rank 4
   Ship’s Confessor
   Drivemaster
   Omnissianic Congregator
   Chief Bosun
   Master of the Vox
   Purser
   Carto-Artifex (charts and Holo maps)
   Ship’s steward
   Twistcatcher
   Infernus master

Successful candidates will be handling their own departments on this ancient and revered vestal and working with in a dedicated team of command officers, intent on furthering the aims of the Lord High Captain. Only humans need apply.

At the request of Adeptus Terra, the Battle Cruiser ‘Pious Lament’ is setting off the reclaim a Forge world thought lost many centuries before, however, they are not the only ones with designs on this planet and rivals have already assassinated the Lord Captain their efforts to delay the ship.

The game started in November but lost some of the players over the Christmas break so we are effectively restarting the game from the current position, which is just priour to setting sail. I’m not intending to fill all of the above posts with players; they are all currently occupied by NPCs or vacant due to the loss of a player. Just ask in game if you need further details.
