Re: DW: GM wanted

For anyone curious, just follow the previous link.  I don't have a formal RTJ policy, as honestly I suspect people, like usual, will drop in and out of the game on a casual basis.  I'm fine with that, and the story is designed for people to be able to come in and out as they wish.

Re: DW: GM wanted

Just to toss it out there, I'd love to play a Space Wolf based game.  Maybe in the Reach, maybe somewhere else.  I'm not picky.

Re: DW: GM wanted

I am building my game now, and expect to start RTJ's April 16th

A bit of a wait but I have a lot of stuff I am trying to sort out and am waiting for the PDF release of Jerichoo Reach, which just went to stores a day or two ago in hardcopy.

The game starts out at Rank 1 with 15,000 xp total.

Re: DW: GM wanted

Anyone interested in running a game or do they have room for a Space marine I'd like to know the act of getting my DW game running has made me want to be a player something fierce. I'm hoping to play a space wolf or ultramarine using either the tactical marine or assault marine.

Re: DW: GM wanted

So! Deathwatch seeking. A game about massive men with massive guns who stomp on people a lot!

Ahem.

In this case, I'd actually be hoping for a game that's more about unravelling the mysteries of the Reach and dealing with puzzles, with some social stuff thrown in.

There will, of course, certainly be lots of combat given they're space marines, but I'm hoping it wouldn't be the only thing in the game. I'm also liking to see thoughts on how sisters of battle could be worked in, for anyone wanting to play a female character.

(Though my preference is for one of the Vlka Fenryka, to be sure. )

With that said, any GMs with an interest here?

I miss this game... A good few GMs showed up, but nothing new has come up in a long time. Is there anyone on the forums willing to run a game?

Re: DW: GM wanted

Well, I would prefer something edgy, a game that displays the fact that even thought Space Marines are transhuman super-warriors, they lose their humanity in the process and become little more than warmongers in the end. Perhaps the arch-villain is their ultimate foil, and revels in the fact that war is his entire life. (Think the Hellsing manga if you've ever read it)

I'm good with powerlevels, whether we start at Rank 1 or 8 is up to you.

Re: DW: GM wanted

I'm pretty much looking for two options:
A. Playing as an Angry Marine and just wrecking things with melee.
or
B. A more serious game, conquering Xenos and Heretics in the name of the Emperor. Perhaps learning a few lessons about humanity, making decisions about saving a planet of innocents, or taking the easy way out and calling an Exterminatus.

Any start point would be fine for either.

Re: DW: GM wanted

I'd like a high level game, and any theme or story is fine with me. Though stories with more intrigue and internal strife [Inquisition vs Space Marines or one SM faction vs another] are my favorite.

Re: DW: GM wanted

Just about anything would be fine with me.

Although a higher rank would be cool. Intrigue, hard moral decisions, galaxy spanning threats, and small wastes of time missions.

Ok, I've created the game. It's still under construction, but I do have a overreaching story arch percolating in the back of my mind that should satisfy some of the things you've requested.

I really want to play Deathwatch, but it seems all the games are full.  Would anyone be willing to run a game to help me better learn the rules before I get the massive undertaking of a game that I have planned going?

Re: DW: GM wanted

Right after almost two years of playing one of my DW games has finally given up the ghost. As such I'm looking for a home for him, I must warn you he is pretty RP heavy, he is rank 4 and he has history out the wazoo from two extremely long missions (10-12 objectives per mission). The GM was possible one of the best, with the other one being the game I'm still playing, and most fair that I've ever played with.

I've included a brief summary, description along with a bit more details about him and what he has done. If you have a home for him I'd be really, really plesaed.

Brother Jace Rank 4 Techmarine/Forge Master

Description:
When Jace is not in his Power Armour he wears a long blood red robe, a combat knife and a bolt pistol strapped at the belt. The symbol of the Omnissiah embroidered on the one shoulder, the Blood Angels on the other and his blood drop pendant hanging around his neck. The robe was of rough material, similar to what the other marines wore, but was a symbol of his allegiance to both Mars and the Space Marines.

His hood was thrown back showing the many tubes and cables that ran out of the back of his head and the grill and tubes that replaced the bottom jaw and portion of his throat.

His power armour is a heavily modified version of the Corvus armour that moves with grace and ease, the right arm has been heavily rearmoured to accomodate the broken off scything blade of a Tyranid warrior that jutted out of the pauldron without sacrificing protection. The Tyranid blade had also been plated in a layer of protective material that had been etched with runes of hatred and anger by the Blood Angels Chaplain.

The left pauldron has the studded appearance of the MkV version and the legs were much lighter than the standard armour, even for a Corvus, but the metal of Jace's body interfaced with it best and he turned as easily as when he was unarmoured, his bolter resting at his side, a golden bolt shell of Marksman's Honor hanging from it, and his servo arm curled on his back.

Welded to the armour are the symbols of honour he has earned. The Aquila Token from his service on Barban is riveted to the edge of the left pauldron and an embellished Machina Opus sits at the centre of his waist connecting his equipment belt to his armour.

Achievements:
Completed two very long multipart missions successfully – Barban and Crotan (more details available for GM’s who want to mesh this into their world)

Helped recover Tau artifacts for the Inquisition.

Helped defeat a Tau outpost, destroying several tanks and a transport ship

Destroyed/deactivated several madness inducing Trellis on Barban.

Encountered and fought a ‘lost’ legion of pre-heresy Alpha Legion on Crotan, they were supported by Pre-Heresy Adeptus Mechanicus as well.

Re-Captured the Spear of Fury a deathwatch strike cruiser from the Alpha Legion.
Hacked a Pre-Heresy AI and communed with it.

Black Marks(Squad):
Squad had a Landspeeder and Thunderhawk destroyed while in their care. The first by a surprise strike by Tau Railguns, whom were dispatched, the second to overwhelming firepower when attacking an Pre-Heresy Alpha Legion base while attempting to hijack their Thunderhawk and Landraider. (Their Thunderhawk was destroyed, Landraider was damaged)

Secrets(Personal):
Blew up a ship with his Brother Blood Angel on it because he had succumbed to the black rage, gene seed was recovered but unable to prove that he had killed his fellow Blood Angel.

Stored a Pre-Heresy AI, Illegal tech, with in a suit of Power Armour, replacing the Machine Spirit inside it. Currently in his armour.

Concealled a Pre-Heresy Adeptus Mechanicus Tech-Priests Memory banks on his person, was able to hack them and use them for information on Pre-Heresy Tech.

Distinctions and Awards:
Aquia Token: For assisting the Imperial Guard on Barban
Machina Opus: awarded for hacking a Tau outposts defensive guns and turning them on the outpost on Barban
Marksman’s Honour: For one shotting a light Tau Tank with a bolter…before the errata fixed the rules, but still the deed had been done :D
First among Equals – For his relationships built with the Forge Master at the DW headquarters
Master of Arms(Felling(1), Accurate) – in line with the Marksman’s honour and the advanced training to help when selected for sniping.

Re: DW: GM wanted

Any deathwatch games out there needing either a tactical or devastator marine?

I've got two ideas burning in my head.

1st: Dark angel tactical marine taking the ravenwing veteran advance so he will function mainly as a scout.

2nd: Ultramarine devastator taking the Tyrannic war veteran advance. He'll mainly be using rocket launchers over the standard bolter, but his equipment will vary by mission briefing as it should.

Re: DW: GM wanted

Hey guys, I've got a Red Scorpions Assault Marine that's looking for a good home. Good environments would be high/mid-level DH/RT games with lots of abhumans and mutants to set off his ultra-xenophobia (even more-so than normal SM), a low-level DW game with daemons to see him in true anti-xenos action and someplace with long walks down dark and gothic corridors as he tries to come to grips with the differences between his own Chapter and the dealings of the Inquisition and Deathwatch in particular.

He's neutered and comes with his very own Mk VI "Corvus" armor with aftermarket retro Mk IV shoulder pads/vambraces, a set known to his Chapter as the Scorpions Guard, rewarded for his service in winning a fight against a Nurgle Chosen as only a Tactical Marine, though he lost both arms of his armor to a Nurgle spawn.

This lovely Space Marine is extremely violent when in prolonged contact with species other than his own, and considers even subhumans and abhumans to be beneath him, often killing them out of spite or ignoring them entirely if circumstances do not permit him to end their pathetic non-human lives.

If you're looking for an addition to your game that will throw your other PC's for a loop as they interact with someone even more xenophobic than a regular Space Marine, this is the Space Marine you're looking for.

Thanks for reading!
