A chameleon tarpaulin? Easy enough if the mission requires it.

But I dont see commanders equipping combat medics with special thingd that they dont need to do their job either. Or a psyker for example. The Ogryn is like them a specialist who is good at bashing things hard and be able to go one on one with an Ork in fisticuffs and survive.

The role you have basically tells what gear you will have. Heavy weapon expert a big gun, the weapon specialist some special weapons and the ratling hits ofcourse the jackpot. But the medic got his lasgun, the sergeant his laspistol and chainsword and they will be using those a lot. Just like an Ogrynn and his trusty Ripper Gun (which I think is a cool weapon)

Given the stats an ogryn should be able to go fisticuffs with several orks and win, not just survive.

Yea, there are no problems with running a beta game on here. I know I'd join one, since I've only ever GM'd the damn thing! :P

I opened an Only War game recently, and will be accepting applications until Friday. The game is set during the Second War of Armageddon, and you can expect lots of grimdarkness, Spess Mehreens saving the day, and being pounded into dust by friendly Titans.

Yea... I helped work on Only War. Since you seem to be advocating the piracy of the game, which can, in itself, be seen as a breach of the rules of RPOL, I have several choice words for you, all of which I will not sully this forum with.

Suffice to say - fruit you, you are the reason why companies treat all their customers as if they're pirates.

Not saying we should all start pirating, I have my books bought & paid for make no mistake.

I do like to check out a system before I buy it, same idea basically with video-games. Why would I pay 60 bucks for something I might not like and seeing as nobody 'loans' stuff out anymore.

Because, whatever way you want to justify it, it's illegal. Whether you agree with that or not is immaterial, but people rely on those products selling to get their salary, and the laws of most of the countries we live in state that sharing or downloading paid digital content from an unlicensed source is illegal, and I would prefer you not advise someone to illegally download a book I had the privilege to work on, made by people I have the privilege of calling my friends.

Doing so in front of someone involved in the creation of the book is, to put it bluntly, disrespectful. It's as bad as the people who suggested the very same time on the FFG forums - you just don't do it.

I mostly agree with Mill here, just one thing I'm slightly miffed about. The fact that the Beta was £20 and that this gives no down costing on the book proper, when released, for the beta testers. They payed for it, why shouldn't they be able to use it as they see fit?

Tyear, you're wrong to suggest that we should download something. The full release will be out soon. Give it time and have patience. I'm sure that it will be entirely worth the wait and that whatever is downloaded will end up being a waste of memory and unnecessary risk considering all the things you can pick up from downloads.

MILL, you're blaming Tyear for all the woes of the RPing industry. Video Games have done more damage than online piracy ever could do. Ever. I imagine Tyear is probably fond of the image of being the lord of all pirates, the epitome of all evil, and the scourge of modern civilization, but somehow I do not think that fits. He suggested downloading a limited release beta either way. It's not like he'll be cutting into any profit margins until the full release comes out.
