Her gaze turned sharply to the steps when the clattering racket of a falling body sounded, and was helpless to do anything but wince as Kell bit it hard. She gave him a sympathetic smile when he returned, and nodded with obvious, if regretful, understanding.
Jack's offer had come at just the right moment, and with a soft, resigned sigh, she turned to him and nodded. No plan ever went perfectly, but the gods always provided. "It seems I have no choice but to accept your offer, but it is welcome, nonetheless. Thank you." She paused, and then turned back to Max. "Let us not remain strangers. You may call me Jasa," she bowed slightly and laid a hand to her heart, shortening her typical introduction. "If there is no more to be done, then perhaps we should be on our way. Though I will speak with the kobold out front once more, if he still lingers." If nothing else, he could at least give them a direction in which to travel.
