Re: Out on the Porch (Part II)

"Well...I guess with what I've been having to deal with I get a bit disillusioned. It's easy to feel like the only important things are happening to myself. Of course...back where I'm from my travelling companions and I were trying to stop someone from taking control of every plane of existence." She looks a bit embarrassed, it's clear that she doesn't really enjoy the act of sharing problems.

Re: Out on the Porch (Part II)

Jonathan's eyes narrowed as he looked back to Breena.  "Every plane of existence...?"

Re: Out on the Porch (Part II)

"Ah...yes. He wants to take control of everything. Before I left he was working on compiling the components for a spell that would allow him all control over magic in his current plane of existence. He only had one or two of the components, and all in all the spell is kind of impossible to achieve." She thinks for a few moment. "First he is going to take over my world, and then he was planning on moving on to hell. After that he could basically take over anything."

Cinder only shakes his head at the tale.  "Ya said ee was goin ta hell?  Well damn it... dat be just up da road from where I be from."  He smiles as he continues ta shake his head.  "Everyone always be sayin one guy is worse den another, but da truth is, rarely does da world change for da normal people, no matter who be in charge."

"So dis fragger, is ee still tryin?"

"I'd think he still is trying, yes. Me leaving wouldn't just change his mind. Hopefully my friends are still trying to stop him." She pauses. "Honestly the components for the spell are so hard to find I wonder if he thinks he'll succeed."

Re: Out on the Porch (Part II)

Jonathan scoffed.  "If he's the type he sounds like, the only thing that'll stop him trying'll be to separate head from neck."

Jonathan held up one fist, one of his bladed gauntlets materializing around it to punctuate his statement.

Cinder leans back on the rail, looking over at Breena.  "So wat ya gonna do bout it Bao bei?"  He pulls out a pack of cigarettes, tapping one of them out.  He doesn't light it though, instead just smelling it for a few seconds.

"Well...like I said I have friends working on it. I'm not integral to everything going over smoothly. And honestly...I don't think I was much help. I usually don't interfere with the world of mortal creatures, either. There are always going to be people to stop the bad guys. Hopefully it doesn't tear Manthria apart."

He shakes his head and when he levels his gaze at her, it is intense, fire burns in his eyes.  His gloved hand reaches out, making a fist in the air in front of him.  "Darlin, do ya be da type ta turn yur back on yur chummers?  Ta leave da fightin ta dem?"  The glove smolders and is quickly consumed by the flames bound to his hand.  "Or do ya be da type ta fight even when da bookies be bettin gainst ya?"  Waves of heat seem to radiate out from him in pulses.

"To give you an idea which one I am... one of my less-than-successful missions was me and one other guy infiltrating the Blood Elves' capital city, and tried to take on one of the higher ups of the Modas Il Toralar, one of our resident evil muderous cults, take her by surprise.  In the middle of the city.  Didn't end well, but like hell was I gonna let the chance slip away."

"well...sorry for happening into a magical forest that transported me to another plane of existence. I can't really do anything from here, can I?" She looks angry for a moment, and then sighs. "My friends have killed demons, and led armies. I'm sure they can manage without their musical back up."

Jonathan shook his head a little.  "Right.  Sorry.  Short version: tried to ambush a really powerful sorceress in the middle of the enemy's capital city."

"I consider myself a healer and a helper. Not always a fighter. I help people whenever I can, but I don't know how to get back to Manthria, so I'm not going to worry about it now. I only just got here." She looks a bit defensive.

Cinder shakes his head, looking first at Jonathan.  "High powered sniper rifle usually does da trick.  A single round at a thousand yards to da ead."

He looks over at Breena and drops her a wink.  "Dont ya be sellin you self short.  Der be nuff people out der ta do it for ya."

Re: Out on the Porch (Part II)

Jon let out a low whistle.  "Sorta wish we had that kinda firepower back home... but even then, wouldn't have worked.  There're no real good angles in Silvermoon for a shot like that, elven architecture and all that.  I tend to prefer the up close and personal methods myself.  I mean, I've got plenty of throwing knives, but it's hard to miss shoving a blade through their face from point blank."

He looked to Breena and smiled.  "A healer, huh?  All the more reason for them to appreciate you.  Think back about it.  How many scrapes have you gotten them out of so far with what you can do?  How bad a shape would they be in if they hadn't had your talents with 'em all along?  Not to mention the moral support, you said you were a bard.  Keeping their spirits up can be just as important as keeping their heads attached sometimes."

Re: Out on the Porch (Part II)

Jonathan took a moment to think about the question.  "...Dangerous.  It's been about 30 years now since the orcs arrived on Azeroth and started the First War.  Since then, there's probably been somewhere between five and ten years of any actual believable peace.  Then the Legion came.  It's a miracle that they didn't come south to Stormwind.  Even today, in the comparative safety of Elwynn Forest.  You stray off the roads, and you're looking at bandits, wolves, bears, murlocs, gnolls, kobolds... I'm not even gonna get into the big scary stuff like the Sha and the Old Gods."

Jon shrugged.  "Similar in size and strength to a kobold, but they're uh, fish creatures."  He paused for a moment.  "But if they're half as intelligent, they're real good at hiding it.  Vicious little things, though."

Cinder lets out a hearty laugh.  "Ya know darlin, I been called a lot of things, many accompanied by finger gestures, but kind is not one of dem."

He picks up the beer, taking a long drink before shaking his head.

<=== [From the Woods]
A sweet looking doe rabbit wearing a long dress sword at her hip, and riding a red Fox.. stops at the front door dismounts.
. . . turns and bows to the Forest, "Thank you Mother."

She reaches over to the Foxes saddle pulling down an odd carved leather contraption tapping it, the rings of leather slid into the shape of a bowl.  Taking a water-skin she pours something not quite the color of water in the bowl.
Standing upright Little Violet whispers to her fox mount; "I don't know how this place will work, you wait and I'll look for my friends." The little rabbit turns does a quick courtesy to the porch turns again and enters the door to the building.
