Re: Out on the Porch

The dwarf suddenly opened its eyes. Hag got up, and began walking around aimlessly, letting the gun fall to the floor. After a few long moments of just standing around, Hagarth noticed the gun. He picked it up, and looked down the barrel out of curiosity. His thumb was on the trigger, and if this gun were loaded, that would be very very VERY dangerous. Hag, still dripping with piss, just stood there, aiming a huge gun at his eye in the middle of the porch.

Consumated as much as he's ever going to see. She grinned then and glanced at Cinder. And I do feel I won. She shrugged. And nobody died... There are those who would be proud of me for that. She added sincerely. And quite shocked.

Wincing as Hag arose and examined the gun. Such a shame. She sighed and shook her head again.  That was probably a gamble lost, but there was always another...

She smiled a bit, So you know of my kind...have you seen us... as ourselves? It was her exprience, most didn't know of her kind, fewer still saw them naturally.  This was always fodder for a good bet. Cinder, she wasn't sure about, so she was now fishing for information, waiting for the little search party to be ready.

Re: Out on the Porch

She glanced to the dwarf and frowned.  She still saw some potential in him...but it was easy to see why others didn't.  Her attention back to Cinder as he stepped closer. Oh I don't understand half of what you say, but I don't think you're stupid. Dangerous, untrusthworthy, and some one she wanted on her side in a fight, but not dumb in anyway, she thought.  He would not be an easy mark, and to bet with him, she needed to be sure or willing to loose.

She glanced back to the dwarf.  You can 'fix' him?

Re: Out on the Porch

After losing interest, Hagarth dropped the gun and turned to Max and Cinder. He cocked his head, as a dog looking at two people that he had never before seen. Without moving his upper body, the dwarf sat down without taking his eyes off the two. The dwarf seemed confused; surprised that there were people in the area. Drool dribbled down his chin as he stared at the two.

Re: Out on the Porch

He looks at her, he was from a world of humans, animals and mutants.  There were none of these races like dwarves, elves and orks.  Much less what she was.  It was very odd, but he did not doubt her word.

Turning back to the dwarf he can only shrug his shoulders.  "I kin fix ifn there be damage.  Even if it be to his noggin.  But can't fix stupid."

He hunkers down on his haunches, some distance from the dwarf, trying to get a better measure of what was wrong with him.  For him to go into and start to manipulate the fellow's brain was dangerous to say the least.  If he was significantly different from a human, there was no chance.

Re: Out on the Porch

Max frowned watching the dwarf watch them.  Coming up to stand next to Cinder. He's not stupid.... She defended again.  Her instincts told her that, and they weren't often wrong.  Can it make him any worse? She asked, feeling a bit responsible for the dwarfs condition.  Though, she had to to admit, her kiss had never produced such response.  It wasn't even poisonous in this state.

Jethro just let out a slight chuckle. "He is stupid. But then again, we all are. It's a relative thing. Just as the little guy can walk around covered in piss making stupid bets, you are for lowering yourself for petty spite, Cinder is for lowering himself to insults in tongues others don't understand, or others are for carrying a fusion reactor in their pants."

He didn't make eye contact to the group but just let the words hand for a moment as the smoke leaking from his lips clouded around him. "I'm stupid too. Maybe for following Scott, or doing the things that I do, or maybe just opening up this jar of worms in what seems to be a very easily provoked crowd." If he was worried about any of the repercussions for insulting most of the present company, he didn't show it. Still he just looked at the floor.

He doesn't even glance at the one who claims to be a musician.  He keeps studying the dwarf as he speaks.  "Ifn I wuz that easy to provoke there wud be a lot more fate meat around ere.  Ifn ya need an explanation of sum of me insults... a toad be a small am-fibean, it is often used as a derogatory term.  Any other insults ya don't understand... find a book and look em up."

He does glance up at Max for a moment.  "Dead aint worse than what he be."  He starts to move towards the dwarf, his hand extended out.  He half expected the runt to try and bite him.

"I don't need a book, Sparky. I understand you just fine. But if you were speaking with your broken Cantonese, in hopes to mask what you are saying, you failed. For the same reason I can understand Parker, I can understand you."
He took another pause in his words, gave a silent shrug and continued.
"Or I was wrong, and that is just how you like to say nasty things. Not that it is any better or worse to say them as such. I've been wrong before, wouldn't surprise me if I was now."

Re: Out on the Porch

Hag, out of blatent absence of mind, reaches up and attempts to suck/chew on Cinders hand. The dwarf had been putting anything and everything he could find and fit in his mouth ever since he ... misplaced his sanity. He had already eaten a few pages of some drunken mages grimoire, the metal bucklings of a sleeping soldiers helmet, and a moldy cheeze danish that he found under a bench. For now, it seems that Cinders' hand was the newest of things Hag decided to suck on, though Cinder would hardly put up with it. Hagarth, though completely and utterly out of his mind, was more or less inert ... he might make a good pet if someone doesnt return his mind to his head.

Re: Out on the Porch

You're not helping, Mr. Charming. Max snapped sarcastically at the musician, and wished her kiss DID hold the power it seemed to have on the dwarf.  Kissing that one would be more pleasant and she'd do it without the bet if she were sure it netted the same result.

Her attention shifted back to the dwarf as he chewed Cinder's hand. Dead would be a marked improvement....Try it.  She said, resisting the urge to back hand the dwarf herself trying to knock his brain into gear.

Re: Out on the Porch

When the dwarf grabs his hand, he starts to work.  Causing a build up of lactic acid in the muscles of the fellow, tiring him out.  "Little fraggers got a hellacious endurance."  When he stops moving, he reaches out, taking his forehead in his left hand.  His fingers seem to meld into the skin and he continues to stare at the toad.

"Ya be all fu@#ed up." It is easier to burn down a building than the micro manipulations that he is performing, it is so much easier to destroy.  Checking the connections in the brain for damage and repairing what he finds, takes insane amounts of power, and from him the power is internal.  "Ta me da!"  He stumbles back away from the fellow, breaking contact, but straightens out quick enough.

He looks at Max and again wonders why he fraggin did this, not for the toad.  His face is again a bit gaunt.  "He be weak for an hour or so, but the damage in his noggin be fixed."

Cocking her head slightly, Aubria replied matter-of-factly, "Oh, among my culture 'witch' is a title of honor. However, we have to remain hidden from everyone else, aka the people that either think we're devil worshipers or sleight-of-hand magicians." She grinned and added, "In fact, I am one!"

Re: Out on the Porch

She watched Cinder 'work,' puzzled by it all.  It was nothing like the likes of which she'd ever seen and she couldn't help but have a bit more repsect for the man because of it.

She glanced at the dwarf, he seemed no worse for wear, then back to Cinder.  Taking the few steps, she stoof before Cinder and with great hesitation and trepidation, reached for his arm to steady him.

Thank you. She said softly, the words foreign on her lips. She'd said them in sincerity maybe once before in her life. Are you okay? Is there something I can do? One could tell by a glance she was serious, and most uncomfortable.

What was it about this place? Why did she care about this strange man? Or the dwarf? What had she followed the annoying little witch, early? Offered to help the other?  Maybe the place had poisoned her?  Maybe she too was sick?  But she wasn't going to let Cinder 'fix' her.

Re: Out on the Porch

Hagarth was rendered unconcious (for a third time) by Cinders' magic. His brain was busy rebooting, so his body fell limp. The question now is, is there any permanent damage? As far as things were concerned, he was in pretty bad shape do begin with.

Suddenly, the Dwarves eyes opened wide and he sat up. The dwarf was in a panic; it seemed to see through the world it was currently in. "CABBAGE!!!" Hagarth screamed, only to fall unconcious again, back into his original position on the floor. This may have sent ... mixed messages as to whether Cinders' magic worked.

"I wasn't trying to help, Lassy." His back slid down the wall, until he found himself sitting eye level with the dwarf. He was unsure if taking the weight off his leg was worth being at such a height but tried to not pay any mind to it. Sure enough He didn't have any mind of his own to pay.

"Careful with the Eh'vil Day, Orship Way, talk. One near by may not enjoy the thought, or may revel in it too much. Never could tell witht he sort but rather not find out one way or another."

Re: Out on the Porch

Almost out of nowhere, a young man appeared on the porch. He was dressed in dark blue jeans with the cuffs tucked into tightly-laced combat boots, a dark green shirt, and a black, well-worn leather jacket. His short, light brown hair was in an almost studied disarray. Red circles around his eyes indicated that the goggles in his black-gloved hands were at one point on his face. Heat emanating from his body. It was like standing next to a pleasantly warm summer bonfire. His green eyes looked rather annoyed. He seemed to stand stunned for a moment. But a heartbeat later, he spoke, punching his fist into the air, apparently addressing some unseen compatriot.

"Jayson Allison, I'm gonna kill you!"

He then seemed to register the others on the porch. He smiled. "Then again, maybe not. Hello ladies." He bowed slightly, hands out to the side. "Mitchell Roberts at your service."

Re: Out on the Porch

"Many mages do worship demons, or at least create pacts with them for their power," Jasa added casually with a small shrug.  It was a fact of life in her world.  Many djinn were considered little better than such.  That was not to say all received their gifts in such a fashion.  Her own people were a testament to the contrary.

"Perhaps we should continue our conversation as we walk.  I believe it is passed time to go..."  A puff of a breeze passed them as she spoke the last sentence and carried the words up to Max on the porch, though she spoke no louder than simple conversational tones.  Time was wasting, and she was eager to go.  She gave Max the choice to continue on with them or remain and entertain herself with the half-wit half-pint.  Jasa, however, was ready to leave, and she slid from the disk and patted the sand from herself.

"My thanks again, Parker," she bobbed her head at the kobold, and looked to Jack and Aubria for their readiness.

Looking around at the newcomer and the obnoxious musician, he turns back to Max.  "I be fine.  Just needs me some rest."  He picks up the discarded bag of coins.  "An he be buyin the food."  The gun hadn't been worth a fraction of the coins, but what he just did had been worth all of them.  Looking at the musician favoring his leg, he has to smile.  "Child's play ta fix that leg.  Cud do wit no worries.  Won't... but cud."

With a glance at the departing air child, he nods to Max.  "Later gatinha."  He steps over to one of the chairs on the porch and sits down heavily.

Hagarth slowly sat up, rubbed his eyes, and procceded to look around hazily. He appeared confused, however the empty look that his eyes portrayed has seemed to fade. "What the hell ... creators save me, it feels like I 'et nothing short of the contents of a commode ... does anyone taste cigarettes? Oye ... someone explain to me what just 'appened." said Hag, the (relative) intelegence returning to his eyes. The dwarf was obviously uncomfortable; chances are he had major indigestion, and possibly a headache. As he began to stand up, a fart that smelled of moldy cheeze danish and pig crap filled the deck. "Oy, 'scuse me .. I have no idea what I been eatin' ..." Hagarth apologised sheepishly, as he wafted the scent away from his face.
