Character's Chronicles

Here you can make notes about each others' characters background, thoughts, literally make up chronicles about the playmates' characters, when you receives some information about them.

For alternative use, you can use this topic as notepad for the ongoing investigation.

Re: Character's Chronicles

Ivan's knowledge of the group.

Linolil: She is proof that Elves are real, apparently having grew up in the empire. She seems to be able to take command, even if she does act like a priestess sometimes. He has been teaching her to dodge blows, but Ivan is still wary of her after her communicating with what was possibe a Leschodovishchi

Manfred: He was a man who's words were to be trusted, having been right more than once. It is a shame he was not more nimble, but he has been mourned.

Nicolja: Nicolja is an Ice witch and therefore deserving of the utmost respect, lest the curse of winter be set in place. She has lowered herself to remove the formality normally required between commoner and her majesty, but that is only the tip of the iceberg. Her relations with Ivan aswell as her reason for being this far south, 'To fight Chaos' seem bizzarre. Still, Ivan is no one to question her.

Roland: He was standoffish, but could hold a sword well. His armour has been put to good use. He had a horse of good flesh, but opposed eating it.

Tyre: He is a priest initiate of Taal and Rhya, and as such is to be treated with respect. He has the mind to delve in deep matters and his opinion is not to be disregarded.

Wanda: She is sorceror, which is different to a witch and thus can be trusted. She is close with Tyre but I have not asked her much of her past as of yet.

Axel: Was a cheery little man, a halfling he called himself. Used to hang around with him alot on the boat and he was a generally upbeat character. He will be missed.

Cosmina: A filthy native of this cursed land, she clings to the Norscan. Her sly remarks and constant harking are extremely irritating, and when the Norscan reveals himself to the group she will be next on the list. She has also declined to fight Ivan, proving her cowardice.

Klaus: A follower of the Empire god, Sigmar, he seems to be a natural leader as newcomers and even the Elf flock to his commands. He no longer insults Nicolja, which is good and he wears mighty armour and weaponry. He fights like a true imperial, stalward and defiant.

Thorolf: Undeniably a norseman, he cannot be trusted. He hides his nature, following Klaus and using the Whore to say his words. It is just a matter of time before the barbarian tries to slaughter the party, and when that time comes I'll be ready.

Maximillian: The man knows Kislevian songs, what's not to like? Lent Ivan his Horse when he was attacked by the Leschodovishchi. Did not have the heart to tell him it is dead.

Leo: Another Vagabond who has usurped power in the group by falling in line behind Klaus. He does not seem a particularly bad man, though his clashes with Nicolja have proven his failure to accept true power. His bite from the Vampire is of major concern and Ivan excepts in the coming weeks at most, he will be forced to end Leo's life before he comes a Vampire himself.

Re: Character's Chronicles

A letter to home:

Dear Father and Mother,

I hope the seasons find you well, and that the negotiation with the current guild leader goes smoothly. As my great aunt had told me, to travel alone in the Empire can be risky, but there is no better way to understand the variance of those living in it and beyond.

After spending the last two years traveling with a troupe, I thought myself experienced enough in tales and acts to travel alone as a teller of stories. I moved east along the river during the summer, slowly learning the true trade, because nothing points out ones errors than having nobody to help you.

In a small city one of my acts seemed to have attracted the attention of a sigmarite, because I was asked to help find a lost priest. The money offered would have put me comfortable through the winter, but I remembered your admonishment about finding out the true worth of money, and the value of a proper weapon, so I bought a longbow - human crafted, but I was glad to have it.

A couple of days later I met with the group, which was smaller than I had been let to believe. Probably some of the humans liked the money, but didn't like the risk, so they left like cowards in the night. They were all humans, excepting for a lone halfling, who seemed uncharacteristically tall and strait. Little talk, and no double dealing. A soldier of profession if my eye didn't deceive me.

The humans came from varied locations and had various professions. A student of the Art quickly confided her profession to me, clearly understanding that we held no fear for those so inclined. A knight from Bretonnia was most gracious. I seldom met a human that well mannered who didn't expect something in return. An uncouth warrior from Kislev no doubt improved the groups fighting prowess, but lowered our appeal to anybody of any standing. A priest of Taal showed me how different these humans are: we should have been close, understanding the worth of nature. Yet I couldn't connect to him. It was really odd. The last I'm not sure of. His comments show his mind is quick, but his profession? I hope it is something better than I fear.

We are leaving now for Sylvania. The future is shadowy, but such is the price of learning.

Your loving daughter,
  Linolil.

Re: Character's Chronicles

[ A written and signed note, in Ulbaz's Pocket at all times. ]
If I should die,

I Ulbaz Dorrgar, of Clan Dorrgar of the Great house of Runesmiths, proclaim that if I should fall honorably in battle fighting the agents of Chaos that my belongings and body be sent to my Clan in Karaz-A-Karak. If news of my death spreads to the Worlds End Mountains and my remains have not yet made it to there final resting place. Then Damn all of you for not making it happen, and I hope that while your looting my corpse that Thungni drains all of the Magic from the rune inscribed weapons and or Armor and you soon follow me into the Underworld where I might smite revenge on your souls. To my brother I leave my Tools, may they provide you with as much skill and perfection that they have provided me. To my children if I should have any, I leave you all my earnings, do with it what you like, split it if there are more than one of you, and be fair about it. Trust me I will be watching. To my traveling companions, If you have not looted my corpse, and plan on taking me back to Karaz-A-Karak, then I leave you with these parting words. "I have enjoyed my time with you all, Exploring the lands above, and knowing that I had you all there side by side with me was an honor to say the least. It was a pleasure for me, as I hope it was a pleasure for you. One last thing, to the Elves that I campaigned with in life, excuse the jokes, name calling, and negative emotions that you sensed from me. It was expected, and part of my Dwarven Heritage, to you all, I only say this. "May your ears grow more pointy with your future travels."

Re: Character's Chronicles

Dear Father and Mother,

How sad I was when you forebode me to travel north, to accompany the armies of that Sigmar Reborn to oppose that spawn of Chaos Archaon. Instead I saw the small towns along the Stir, and I learned how humans lived, seemingly undisturbed that only days to the north the future of their empire was decided.

I thought I was ready, certain that I would be a help, perhaps even being noticed by Teclis! Now I know how young I am, how unprepared for the horrors of combat. Have you heard anything about great aunt Elriel? I was so worried when I heard she returned to Ulthuan when the fighting had finished, summoned to the tower of Hoeth no less.

The reason I write so quickly again is in the hope you can somehow forward this to her:

'You were so right, honoured mother's mother's sister.
The spirits of the dead are wrapped in despair deep enough to touch any soul.'

I encountered spirits of humans long gone who still had compassion for the living, and undead wolves that hungered for our still beating hearts. We lost the halfling, but with the help of a Kislev Ice sorceress managed to survive. I am grateful for her help, but she's high-handed and unaccustomed to the custom of cooperation. Also the men in the group were not what I expected - they moved around an innkeeper's daughter like moths around a flame. Even, no not 'even': especially the Bretionian knight.

We even found the priest, but his soul is clearly somewhere else. I cannot but do the right thing, break the curse of that poor human, even though the land is not to my liking - it is a long time since Kurnuous visited here.

Your loving daughter,
  Linolil.

Re: Character's Chronicles

     Chronicles of Ulbaz Dorrgar,

Upon reaching the cemetery, I entered one of the temples, and fell unconscious, unknowing that the same had happen to my companions also. Laying there with my face hard pressed against the stone floor of the temple, I could swear that I heard the sounds of fighting coming from outside, shouts, screams, but being unconscious myself it was prolly just the nightmares in my head.

Upon waking I witnessed one of my companions, a Manling by the name of Thorolof rushing back inside the temple, his face and body pale as a ghost, witnessing him scream like a little girl was enough to make any dwarf laugh. But it was not until I saw for myself why the Manling was scared.

With one companion still unconscious and the other huddled in a corner, I took it upon myself to go out and see what was so bad outside. Opening the temple doors and heading back into the graveyard I saw a horrible sight. But I pulled my composure and when the Skeletons starting rising up around the graveyard I took it as my chance to test out my new Hammer. Charging into the mix I started bashing away at the Skeletons around me, managing to take out ten of them before my companions had a chance to come and help.

Hearing the sounds of other fighting going on across the graveyard, and seeing a huddled mass of Skeletons attempting to gain entry into a burial mound. After dispatching the Skeletons around me and my companions, it was time to rid the rest of the Graveyard from the Unholy creations. Charging across the hilled landscape I made my way towards the larger group of Skeletons......

To be Continued.... The Chronicles of Ulbaz Dorrgar

Re: Character's Chronicles

Dear Father and Mother,

As great aunt Elriel often said, the price of learning can be high indeed. I am still alive and sound of mind, but I wonder if I should find a temple of Shaylla to ask if they can help me with an unreasonable fear I developed of doors. It is almost funny. Perhaps humour is the solution. We found a troubled human spirit bereft of his love, protected by what turned out a human living far beyond his years. The curse or the time spent lamenting had turned his mind to hatred and we managed with difficulty to unravel the mystery of where some dark force had shackled his love. The lady in question turned out to be as afflicted by madness as her paramour, and I saw sights there that I will remember for the rest of my life. She, I assure you mother that no lasting harm came from it, just some scratches on my arms, she took my body to try and feel alive again, but this allowed my companions to take me/her to meet her love. Once rejoined the curse broke, leaving us shaken but successful.

The Knight fell to a horde of skeletons, but we were joined by two humans and a dwarf. One of the humans is a Sigmarite who almost came to blows with the ice witch - who has the patience and social graces of a northern storm, but a kind of truce was reached. I think I understand these humans better, but it would be so much nicer if they did not use wrong accusations or foul language to cover up their own insecurity. The dwarf I have not yet spoken to - but he hardly speaks to any.

We have returned to the village of Folburg, where we found we only took the first step of many to resolve the darkness discovered by the priest. We cannot but continue.

Your loving daughter,
  Linolil.

Re: Character's Chronicles

Cosmina: It seems this girl doesn’t know anything about the world…just legends and stories…great…

Ivan: He is a great man, he always stands by my side..but just because of the rules….always the rules, nothing else…

Klaus: The Sigmarite priest thinks that he is always right…I think that we will never understand each other…

Linolil: Speaks too much….

Manfred: Bitch…no I’m not that dear Manfred….but you keep your tounge because of your kindness…this is the only reason why I didn't cut that out

Thorolf: He does what he has to….

Tyre: He helps when somebody needs him….

Wanda: An other wizard…I don’t know many things about her but I know that we can always count upon her.

Re: Character's Chronicles

What Cosmina knows about the group so far.

Linolil: She's an Elf, and she outright admit that her race has done horrible things, bu humans have done horrible things too, so she's willing to give her a chance.

Manfred: Funny guy. Wound a bit too tight, but seems like the decent type.

Nicolja: A foul, cruel, arrogant bitch. She's also a foul witch. Not to be trusted, probably needs to be burnt.

Ivan: The bitch's pet. The others say he's reliable but she probably has him under her magical thrall. Might explain his broken language.

Tyre: Seems to be a decent guy. A bit he's a priest too, which means he's to be respected.

Wanda: She's a witch, but is far less foul than the other. Needs to be watched but doesn't seem to be a foul person by nature. Pity.

Klaus: Really good guy. A bit stiff but smart. Shame he's a priest.

Thorolf: Big, hunky, and a bit wild looking. Guy like that could make a girl feel safe. Hope he's a nice guy.

Re: Character's Chronicles

There are some items that often passes through the character's hands, and might be important to know where they are.
These objects are:

The Dagger of Khepri
The Life-Work of Dieter Helsnicht
The journal of Father Siegfried (different pages)
The Covenant between Frederik von Launkdorf and Lord Zedirchai
The incantation: Word of the Last Breath

It would be nice to keep a public track of these object, what is where.
So please take the common knowledge together and determine their bearers here, and continually update it when the objects pass hands.

Nicolja has the Covenant and the book (but soon it will pass to Klaus I suppose). Who has the incantation?

Re: Character's Chronicles

It was no part of it, Wanda found it at an entirely different place, but Nicolja pulled them out together from the shaft of the Crypt. Then the journal pages gone to Klaus, but the incantation as well?
