Is everything alright? I understand if you're just busy.

I actually prefer this slower pace as it gives me more time to think and get ready for school. I am curious about the slower pace these days.

I'm sorry. I have been busy. My wife went on a business trip to NYC, and I'm alone with the kids. I hope to have a post for you tomorrow or this weekend

Re: OOC

Awesome loot!

Is Ignis' fire blast power useable at will, or is there some kind of X times/day limit?

Re: OOC

I updated Stan's character sheet with several different lines for AC (so we don't have to calculate them on the fly.)

I also added Ignis to his possessions and attack options.

Also, do you know why Stan's INT is listed as "20(4)" ? NVM, figured it out. That was his 4th level boost.

As always, thanks for a great game.

Re: OOC

Okay, here's an overview of the changes I'd like to make:

First off, I would like to keep eschew materials. I just feel like it's such a part of Stan's character. He's the whiz kid who doesn't need material components to work magic. Also, I know situations like the tiger pit are rare, but I do want to have that ability in times of need.

Now, onto some changes in the summoning/conjuring department. I was originally gearing Stan towards a summoning-oriented prestige class that no longer exists. So I will be dropping Spell Focus (Conjuration) and replacing it with Arcane Strike. This meshes well with what's been going on, in my opinion. Stan's lost academic study time but gained experience with bladed combat and the dangers of magical combat.

I would also like to replace Summon Monster I with the spell Air Bubble - it's a minor utility spell that I nonetheless think will come in handy. It can also help keep powder dry in rain or water, which might be handy now that we have a gunslinger.

Finally, I'd like to point out some class features Stan has that have been underutilized. The first is summon familiar. I'd really like to see him acquire one of these, not so much for combat as for roleplaying.

He also has a craft wand feat. Assuming I can get the 375 gp/wand, I'd like to make some first level spell wands.

Finally, I found the following inventory items buried in some PMs and I know I have at least the two wands. I'm thinking I used the potions at some point but I haven't found proof either way.

Potion of Endure Elements
Potion of Protection from Evil

Wand of Detect Magic (x40)
Wand of Shatter (x32)

Our treasure has always been a mess so I'm trying to get it all in on place on the character sheet and keep better track of it. I know Stan has an Ioun Stone that he hasn't been using. It might be best if you just went through my sheet and any PMs and revised the equipment section yourself. That way we have a final GM fiat on Stan's present gear.

As always, thanks for the long-running and well written game. It's a pleasure to play in it and I hope the trouble I give you is worth the reward.

Re: OOC

Well, the cliche thing to do would say "something from the abyss," and that was my original plan - a go between for Stan and Clementine. However, now that she herself is here, more interesting opportunities arise. I would like to see the familiar create, if not conflict, at least some moral dilemmas.

A struggle like Celestial vs. infernal  is too problematic for my tastes. BUT, since Stan is Lawful Neutral I could see some excellent roleplaying opportunity in the chaotic vs lawful struggle. Right now, Clementine and Demios are both from the abyss (Chaotic-aligned plane), so I think it might make sense story-wise for Stan to get some kind of Lawful familiar. Maybe something very studious and organized, who is always pressing Stan to get back to academic pursuits instead of chasing around the planes.

It would have to be actually useful, of course, or pragmatic Stan and his chaotic family would have no reason to keep it around.

As far as actual creature type: I was thinking of taking Improved Familiar at my next level-up. I think an Imp fits all my visions for Stan's familiar - it hates both good and chaos, but it will have to either side with a non-evil lawful person (Stan), or two chaotic but similarly infernal beings (Clem and Demios) or it will lose every argument and get kicked out of the "family".

Unfortunately, most of the good improved familiar choices seem to require level 7, and I'll only be hitting six.

Re: OOC

RE: Imp Familiar – I can dig that; and I like the way you think. You might have already gleaned this from me, but I tend to favor story elements over game mechanics. However I am loath to allow things into my games that might "break" the game too easily. That being said, I do have an idea I plan to implement I think you'll like. ;-)

I'm also trying to bring in some other PCs. I had three prospects, but two fell away. And the remaining one wants to play a Cleric. Remaining sensitive to that, I will be changing Clementine's class mix from Cleric/Gunslinger to straight Gunslinger. Demios is a straight Magus.
I also have a whole NPC bin of characters to help out when you may need them (their skills/abilities).

I hope to be able to move on this later this weekend, or by Tuesday at the latest.

Ah, sorry. Didn't realize it was an OOC question. I thought it was more like a "Stan doesn't remember if he took it" kind of thing.

Yes, he would probably take it.
