Re: OOC Chat
Thanks, I really appreciate that!
If I may part the veil a little bit, no, this is not part of the published adventure. I have been using the module as a guideline, or setting backdrop. Most of the events playing out are either my own work, or my reactions to your decisions. For example, the last thing I took from the module was the name of Fort Blackwell. In print, the location and peoples were described vastly different than how I portrayed them herein.
I have been trying to take these adventures (both here on RPoL, and at my tabletop) and run them more abstractly. I have grown tired of hearing players and GMs blame issues on modules. I don't care what the publication says. Gameplay becomes much more interesting and involved when the players' characters have skin in the game. And that means, the story has to be tailored to them, individually.
If I ran this as written, the whole campaign would be about Lavinia, a series of obscure and contrived subplots against Lavinia. That's great and all, but what about you? Why are you here, and how's the universe working against you?
Make no mistake, Lavinia is and will continue to be in danger; but so are/will you. Sometimes those dangers will be the same, and sometimes they won't be.
