Apparently he doesn't like to be called I (or the first).
At least not until there's a second François (as we call him here).

Thank you! There likely are several different ways that solar systems are formed. We need to find and study more exoplanet systems to really understand these processes.

If you go to the main rpol page. Select 'active' and 'fantasy' games and sort by 'posts'. I think that's it.

When I heard the expression, I actually imagined it like installing a new software.
So more like : "Don't forget to download the patch 3.01 Holy Sea before installing the new Pope..."

Re: 45000!!!

Look I dont make fun of other people's religious beliefs. There is no proof that any of us are right, that is why it is called faith. Faith is something you believe without proof. I dont mind honest disagreements about this topic.

What I do mind is when other belittle my faith. Tugdal and Ben, I am disappointed in both of you, especially you Ben, who has made it a point to tell others not to make shameful comments here in the OOC. I demand an appology from you both and I demand that the offensive posts be removed.

Again, I do not make fun of other people's faith and I expect the same courtesy in return. Western culture routinely mocks and belittles Christianity, I expect this to be a place where I do not have to deal with that.

Re: 45000!!!

Rory, I have a deep respect for the Catholic church and I am not in any way insulting it, nor would I.  And I think you've got a really good pope.

It is the media use of the word "installing", which conjures up a strange image for me, and Tugdual, rather than Appointing, Confirming, Accepting etc etc etc.  Even "inaugurating".

It's not the faith, it's just the use of the word, and it would have the same effect on me if a reporter said "Apple is installing a new Board of Directors" or "The Yankees are installing Garcia as their shortstop".

I think it's a generational thing, though, how Tugdual assumes "software" when he hears "install" and I think of some physical component.

Re: 45000!!!

OK

You should understand that I found it offensive, especially without some accompanying explaination.

Pope Francise is the very definition of Christian charity. As Pope I believe he will stear the Church back to what it is suppose to be. Before anyone is tempted to poke fun at the Church, remember that no other human organization does so much for the poor, whether its feeding them, clothing them, or providing free medical care. Look it up, no other government, organization, nothing provides as much free healthcare as the Church. Priests, Monks, and Nuns are trained by the Church, at the Church's expense to be doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providors and then provides those services along with medications for free across the world.

The Church provides food, for free, to hungry people. It provides clean water to thirsty people, and yes it tells people about Christ in whose name all these charitable acts are performed. I understand and accept your explaination Ben, but remember if you need to explain it, either explain it or dont say it because it can be very offensive.

Thanks
Steve

Re: 45000!!!

I think it's best to refrain from posting comments about or referring to religion including those in jest. Rather than have this turn an ugly mess I'm going to say that we end this and start anew. Religion can be a very passionate topic that people take extremely seriously, with good reason. Just because someone doesn't see it that way doesn't make it any better. So this is a cease and desist order. In that light, Ben please create a new OOC thread as this one is approaching the 1000 post mark anyway. Let's start anew in a more pleasant fashion to all. Thank you.

Re: 45000!!!

I'm sorry if I have offended... I was raised catholic myself and in no way did I intend to belittle or mock your faith. I shan't refer to real-life religion any more.

This was little more than a joke about an amusing wording. My opinions on religion in general and the Pope in particular have nothing to do with it, and I did not mean to share them here.

(Steve I do not mean to have the last word, but I was demanded an apology and I'm a reasonable druid)

Got it, had a look yesterday. Does this game have a category? Didn't see it listed under Fantasy, Medieval or Historical - so maybe it's under Sci-fi? Horror?

Oh, I know - Comedy!
