I'm still ironing out my character sheet, and I want to at least have a more comfortable 'beta' of it before posting it up here for folks to see/debate over. From the looks of things, though, it's going to be a wild ride... and we're all agents of Chaos.

Well so far, yes. Cham, Emmy and Joe are all Chaos aligned. So I'll be bringing in my other chars for sure. Such as Timothius. ;)

I probably should choose a raccoon avatar for him, but having Rocky from Lackadaisy was just TOO good to pass up for Cham's character ;) I think I'll probably take yours and Tim's lead, Joe, and post up Cham's sheet as it stands and replace it with the edited version as it comes.

I'm tempted to make a char who has telekinesis, teleportation, size changing, and can get away with strutting his naked blue self around.  Name him "Dr. NakedBlueDude."  Wonder how well that'd fit in with the whole Pokemon thing.  :p

I'm tempted to make a wooden marionette who can twist into unflattering positions and jeer at people while making rude noises, reducing staunch monarchs to tears.

Teleportation? Possible size-changing? Naked blue self? I believe Cham qualifies... Ya know, when not wearing a vest.

  Looks cool so far J'renn, though will have to be careful with those High Fives (Hey, the Ninja turtles use the term and they're not up to 5 in the fingers department).  However, Darkthorne can fit his ride in the average parking space!  Never mind it's usual parking space is the same place Comedic props and Power Ranger outfits seem to hide when not in use.

  It would probably be much more impressive than my attempts at such when you remote guide run someone over though.

Although... we still really don't know how the 'story' of this is going to work. Ah well, that's what drawing boards are for.

As I usually do when starting a place, I'll make a "sandbox" called Chapter Zero to help establish the world. I wanted this world to be constructed by not just myself, but the players as well. So enter Chapter Zero with the intent to build upon what I've already established. Perhaps by the time Chapter Zero comes to a close, we can have a much more developed world. :)

Also, as I told Darkthorne, you can find Timothius and Alexis in "The Cast" which isn't a thread, but a clickable option up at the top of the screen. I would like if you could add your characters to that "cast" via the "Character Details" option just left of the cast option. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you should see it right now at the upper left corner of this page, directly under where it says "Roleplay Online". :)

Heh... Cham would sooo get away with that... what with everyone's eyes being on Timothius...  but I imagine the Fire secret service would flip out the moment they notice him.  This is gunna be fun!  :D

I would have one of my characters challenge the prof, but I don't want you all just sitting there watching me fight myself. :p So if none of your characters challenge the professor, would any of you mind posing in an NPC challenger to get things warmed up? Of course, if your character challenges the prof, I don't mind that one bit. Quite preferable in fact. :)

Well, if nobody else does NPC/PC stuff I guess I'll toss in something that's been staring at me from my desktop for ages for one of the fights.

While I seem to be focusing on Blake at the moment, committing a Char to full scale arena shenanigans is quite an undertaking for those without an army of alts on standby to do something else, heh.

Heh. Forgot it was Cham's turn, but my poses were short enough that Cham can pose without worry.

That's what happens when I get into people's heads.  I accidentally start knocking over brain furnature, and people are thinking at each other and forgetting to talk.

Just so everyone knows, I updated Maverick, the Cherubs and Alexis. In Alexis' case, all I did was make her "stop" power more specific on what it does. For Maverick, well, I took his "mute button" power and moved it to Carla of the Cherubs.

Rather than risk metagaming... and then there's the fact that I'm lazy...  I would like for Raichel and Blake decide what the fire nation historians and consequently, her top adviser, know about their characters.

  If Tim (in the char named such sense) feels like it they might tell Mittens about how several life kings have claimed to kill such a guy, without them putting up much of a fight.

  Blake's constant forgetting to introduce himself and lack of ever ruling anything in his long history have left him juuuuust a little less famous.

Well if Blake were ever known by his name and/or knuckles, then "that's the former king of death!" would make sense for the Fire Nation adviser to know.

  The snag there is nobody knows that Blake was the second and a half Death king.  Even if records even went that far back, it was as if the second Death king went from a murderous rampage through Blake's home, to a murderous rampage through his own forces after messing with the local Divine artifact.  The Life king at the time 'killed' them with one swing at the end of Blake's rampage, leaving behind only the Death King goodies.

  Blake didn't bother to take physical form again, similar to his original and vaporized by (his) God body for a good while after that.

  Although Blake being a known factor of 'I totally killed that guy' claims through time after that point, wouldn't be too much of a shock.  Although I should probably go from implied, to straight out saying Blake was just ditching physical form because he got bored with whoever trying and failing to kill him.  Life king's included.

Long explainations short: Timothius MIGHT know. Mittens and her advisers don't.

Nobody's sure who rules the Death Kingdom at the moment. Blake's been in "hiding" for the past who knows how long. So as far as anyone watching is concerned, Blake's just some guy hailing from the Death Kingdom (Unless an undead joined some other place which is highly unlikely).

Does anyone else want a "ruler" character who rules over a given dominion (Such as Darkness, Water, Earth, etc)? I'm writing up lore and such, so if you want a slot reserved for you, lemme know so I can start making NPC rulers accordingly.

I kiiinda had Prism in mind for the light kingdom, but they don't have to wind up the ruler.  (They'd rather not, of course... got their hands full governing themselves.)

And here I thought an Arena would be expensive to build and legally risky.  I thought it safe to assume they'd try to recoup the investment and cover their butts with legal (what I thought might be mildly amusing) disclaimers.  Foolish me.  I'll just delete the post.

Meant to establish this a while back, but when PMing each other and wanting to keep things private, keep these things in mind:

1) I see all PMs on my various forums (Struggle for Hope, Faction, here, CoX, Care Bears, Transformers) and even on forums not mine that I co-GM (Mittens Dungeon, and a few others). So if you don't want me reading your personal, private stuff, see below!

2) You can PM on another forum and it will garuntee I won't see it. However, if you don't have another forum to PM besides mine, if you are willing to trust me, simply title the message "Not for you, Tim!" and I will simply not look at it.

I hope that helps any future convos. Not that this has happened yet, but I don't want people mad over something like me clicking on a PM not intended for me without realizing it, heh.

  3) If you're only messaging one player (I'm fairly sure it can work with multiples, but unsure how to do that without already knowing their Account names), Rmail button works fine for 'only they can see this' complete certainty.

  Well, technically they've had posts.  They've just had no posts with any character interaction since the people he was talking to all scampered off their separate ways last April ;D  The next post Dark interacts with someone in a post will bring the count up to three. Or four, if you count talking to themself the first post.

  It'll definitely be yay when you post anything.  I'll be adjusting Dark's personality for sake of convenience because 'let's try not to cause an interdimensional incident' didn't pan out when a third of the characters are Royalty or Ex-Royalty.  Blake served his 'have someone for Raichel to kick the ass of' purpose, but I do kinda regret making them sometimes <.<

Alright. Here's my assessment of "Chapter 00: Sandbox"

It played similar to the Cell games in DBZ. You had 1 on 1 fights in an arena with everyone else standing by and watching. The only thing making that different from any other DBZ fight, of course, is the fact there was an arena. But a key element that happened here that makes me happy is no meta-gaming. The whole thing went along fine, if a bit extended. But the extension was because of a number of factors that I believe should never be dropped from RP, but one factor I might consider dropping:

1) I've formed a good habbit of not dragging OOC into IC. This includes OOC feelings about a scenario or OOC knowledge that my character doesn't know IC. SO... When Raichel tried to shoot Blake with some energy, she not only found out that he wasn't as immune to damage as she thought, but she couldn't kill Blake by blowing his head off. However, she was afraid of using lightning on him because she figured she could actually kill him and she came too close. So this made Raichel hesitant to "finish the job" (especially since as her charsheet shows, she prefers sticking with Martial Arts when she can).

2) Darkthorne wound up looking for a seat, sure, but didn't conveniently sit with one of the people he met at the gateway. This was partly due to the fact everyone decided to find seats rather than socialize, lest they miss the show (and oocly, to get things moving). However, the main reason Darkthorne wrote his char out of the chapter was he made Blake for Raichel. Which was a fight that took forever. So this was kinda something that just happened, but can be avoided in the future.

3) In a realization of how my "royal" alts would react to this scenario, I wound up having Rai, Alexis AND Timothius all show up. :\ It was a natural order of things. But wound up with a mountain of poses and as Darkthorne pointed out, they were people his char couldn't exactly interact with. That said, I'd like to once again throw the offer out there for any of my players to grab a royal alt. I don't mind controlling all the royalty of the universe, save 2, but it would be more fun for those scenarios if we had other players playing royal types. It's a different kind of fun, sure, but still...

4) I tried to make more things happen during the fight, but I should have realized it was, in fact, just an arena fight.


All that said, we need to take a break from the arena. So I'm starting a new chapter. Arena fights will be open at the fire kingdom for future fights, but it will be treated as a separate RP for purposes of moving the plot along. Now to type an opening scene... *goes to type up the new chapter*

Mittens: "Didn't stop the LAST king from adventuring, now did it?"

Adviser Guy: "He's not king any more is he?"

  Yeah, it is kinda funny how the main reason the arena bit dragged on was Raichel was, on no! reasonable!

  Dealing with the joys of dog walking and light shoveling.  If nobody has any suggestions where to open up with Darkthorne in the new thread, I'll think of something tonight.

This may be the first time I've ever seen the correct spelling for "orderves."  Over 30 years of snacking and I had no idea I'd been taught wrong by grocery stores and recipes until today.  And of course my spell checker says the correct spelling is wrong.

Methinks more the problem with running a bazillion characters and NPCs in an RP with a bazillion others.  I have a hard time keeping up with just Mittens let alone 2 characters.

  That and skimming my own post once more, 'Darkthorne considers Mitten's array of sensible questions, and answers the one directed at himself.' totally looks/sounds like responding to Mittens as opposed to the non-specific question that was directed in Darkthorne's, and everyone's direction by Team Angel kids.  <.<  >.>

   Yeah, mental communication.  Which would be exactly the same result as talking so I can't see why Maximus would suggest 'you know, we have a telepath' if at least lie detector filter or something was intended.

The recent lack of narrative is due to the GM's work situation becoming insane.  (And rather dangerous I might add).  He will likely have much more time on his hands in about 2 weeks if you catch my drift.  Possibly sooner.
