[Alt. Setting] A Dark Mirror

A few moments delay, a slighty different spin to the dice, a chance swerve when once there was only a sway, and different choices are made.  Human choices cascade outward influencing untold lives, while the choices of gods change the course of the world.

What might have been?  What might yet be?

Post your mirrorverse exploits here.  Maybe just start with who you are, and what lead you down your current path?  The mirrorverse is detailed in several posts in the vignettes, and there is a bit of reference to it in some of the weird sequences with Mercer and Shadow Walker.  I'll try to find actual post numbers...

[Alt. Setting] A Dark Mirror

Patience sat in the Hall of Mirrors, looking out across the potentialities. She could see across all of them, but was focused on one in particular. The Dark One had managed to punch through the cross-time wall, apparently through force of will alone. Patience was not certain of this, the Hall did not show the past, only all of the potential presents and she hadn't been watching at the time. She had only noticed when the mirrors had begun to go dark and shatter. This was concerning. Nearly two dozen timelines had been collapsed already, and Patience had no idea that it was even possible to do that, let alone why The Dark One was doing it.

"Worry not Sister, with each of me I kill I grow closer to fixing everything. When I am done we will be whole again. I WILL save her!." The Dark One shouted, her voice sounding distant as it echoed across the dimensions. As she finished, the mirror went dark and shattered, becoming nothing more than glass.

Patience frowned. The Dark One was clearly insane, which was a problem, she wasn't sure how to contain it either. It would be hard to pin down another one of her who could cross-time travel. The problem would likely sort itself out eventually, The Dark One would figure out that Alex couldn't be saved, it wasn't a fixed point per se, but it was the next best thing. Alex's death was an observed event, no single version of her had the causal weight to alter... That... Fact...

"She's trying to create a singularity..." Patience looked down the line of mirrors, noting the broken ones. There was no pattern to it, they were nigh on infinite, but she could find the ones she wanted easily enough, if she looked. She moved and the mirrors spun. All the way to the end. There were two end points, naturally, it was the ones in between that went on forever. The Dark Mirror was just that. Void black and utterly opaque. It was also a spiderweb of cracks, as if other pieces were being jammed into the frame. She could almost hear the frame creaking under the strain, even though it was just a mental construct.

"Oh, shit. This is gonna be a problem."

The Solitaire laughed softly as she walked through the rubble that had once been the upper floor of Archon and flung herself into a well worn armchair. One of her had been watching that time, and it had been The Other End, she could tell. She didn't know if any of the In Betweens could control the sight well enough to actively watch. Even she had written it off as dreams or deja vu at first. She cracked her knuckles and put her hands behind her head. Job well done. The Other End would figure it out, and assemble the strongest ones, the most important ones, and they would come to her. It would be so much faster this way...
