Aadun smirked a bit at Rorik's sentiment and nodded his head.  "Yes, I imagine you are quite skilled in that field," he commented.  He thought about what Kala said for a moment before he shrugged.  "Oh, I had a plan for dealing with Brill, though I put Joron on it.  Since he never came back, we should probably assume that he never got a chance to speak with him.  I'm Aadun Ogden, by the way."

Re: Mission to Ryloth Part I - Day 4

Arng Hould scratches his chin while his three eyes blink out of unison.  The blinking of his eyes come as a ripple that arc across his face from the left eye, to the middle eye, to the right.  To wink one eye is a quirk in motor control for a Gran.  To be able to wink all three eyes is highly unusual.  While others of his race found the feat amazing, it was also a little grotesque.  Arng found it soothing.

"The toppling of a political dynasty was a subject often on the mind of the family I once served.  Often it is too difficult to target directly the ruler.  They are too well guarded, too well advised, too well financed.  A political leader is like a tower.  To try to knock it over by pushing at its top will take a lot of strength.  But if you weaken its supports, then it would only take a strong gust of wind to knock it over.  The master I once served was one such support, and thus he had to endure several assassination attempts.  I say you leave the rulers alone.  You go after their supports.

"Remaining in power takes money.  Where does this clan's money come from?  Shut down their business operations, and the rulers will fall.  It's like digging out the roots of a tree.  And if those roots spread off-world, the Empire's quarantin helps us.  Though if lies are more your thing, you could always spread the rumor that the Imperial quarantine is the fault of this clan.  Just my thoughts."
, Arng explains his ideas in the flat but tough manner.  Though the effect of it actually sounding as tough as the accent is ruined by his high-pitched, nasaly voice.

"I was also quite concerned about the amount of time and effort it could take to topple the Clan's rule rather than just going the easy way out.  However," he began and gave a rather pointed look over at Kala, "My mind has been changed.  I will say this, though, that your idea was exactly what I was thinking.  I have already begun to gather together the resources to begin spreading lies and misinformation involving the current Clan and the Imperial quarantine."

"It helps that the people already suspect that the Distombe are in the Empire's pockets.  I only wished to nudge them further in that direction.  If you have any additional suggestions, I would be interested in hearing them."

Re: Mission to Ryloth Part I - Day 4

"To any smart person, the Distombe Clan being in the Empire's pocket, and being the cause of the quarantine would sound like two opposing things.  They'd be sure to doubt one or the other as fact.  You don't want to spark a debate over which lie is not a lie.  You want to spark a revolution.  So you have to spread a third lie.  That is that the Empire is letting Distombe trade off-world while putting a stop to the off-world trade of other clans.  And you say that is the real reason for the quarantine.  The Distombe want to starve the other clans into submission.  And from past dealings I've overheard about this world, starvation plus submission equals a thriving off-world slave trade.  If I heard the rulers of my planet were starving my family into submission just so they could force us to have to sell our children into slavery, that would make me mad... really mad... mad enough to start a revolt.", replies Arng to Aadun's path of lies.  "Still, it might take some proof to convince people.  We could either arrange for Distombe freighters to break the blockade, which I have no idea how we could accomplish.  Or you seize a Distombe freighter and plant some evidence like codes to get them through the blockade.  Sound like piracy to you?  Well it is, but there's more than one type of pirate.  We could create the image of ourselves as outlaws with a heart of gold; the real rob from the rich, give to the poor type.  Speaking of codes though, Imperial codes to get us past the blockade would be a really welcome sight.  I have no desire to stay here, and brave either revolt or starvation."
[Private to The Force: When learning that the Empire has come in force to Ryloth, Arng stretches out with The Force to try to feel enemies closing in on their location.  The group's perimeter was breached once at night.  Another attack may come soon.

Krysten stepped into the room on the tail end of Huold's speech.  She looked back and forth at the newcomers a moment before deciding that they would do.  She mentally shook her head at the amount of turnover that was going on in the team, and they had only been on site for only four days!

At this rate, the entire planet was going to know why they were here, and it was starting to get on her nerves.  Why not just assassinate the clan leaders and be done with it?  She shrugged philosophically to herself and tuned back in to the conversation.

"You lot figure it out and tell me what you want me to do, I was hired as an infiltrator, spy and a gun. I'll leave the figuring out how to topple a reigme to the smart people." He says then calmly walks to a chair sits down and crosses his legs far infront of him as he leans back. He had already added his two cents and told them what he could do. He would let the them figure out how to best use him.

"To prove that they have ships able to leave the system might be biting off a little more then we can chew. Generally, when a system is blockaded or locked down for quarentine, they need some kind of code from the person doing that to show that they are allowed to come and go as they please. I doubt the empire would simply hand over a code like that if we asked nicely. Now, if we can hack into a navicomputer of one of their freighters to show that it had been outside the quarentine and back several times, that might be a bit easier." Kala added. "But, I think with what we've got right now, it's a good start. Rumors might be our best weapon at the moment. Though,  the empire is looking for something, and I wish I knew exactly what it was... "

The Gran turns his head to the left, and then he turns his head to the right like he's looking or listening for something.  And he does it right after Kala muses about what the Empire may be looking for on Ryloth.  "What's the Empire ever looking for?", he asks rhetorically.  "They're probabily looking to drive off the Hutts and tighten their control over Ryloth's Spice mines."

"The empire is trying to over throw the hutts huh? I have a Jedi Holocron I'll sell you on the cheap." He chimed in, with what he hopped would be a rather pointed statement. The empire isn't dumb enough to try and distrupt the Hutt's. Honestly if rumors he heard were to be believed the Hutts actually help the empire on a regular basis.

The Gran's long, pointy ears and antennea perk up excitedly at the meantion of a Jedi Holocron.  "Really?  How much do you want for this Jedi Holocron?", he asks with what has to be feigned interest that sounds very genuine.  Most likely he's just being greedy because a Jedi Holocron is a rare treasure that could be sold to a collector of rare antiquites.

Narik scratched his chin but maybe Kala had a point “perhaps if we knew what the Imperials wanted we could use it to our advantage” he was thoughtfully for a moment and looked at his companions, all aliens “I doubt any here could infiltrate the Imperials staff except me. I’d need some sort of disguise. Do you think you help with that Rorik?” he looked to the Bothan who had labelled himself a spy.

Re: Mission to Ryloth Part I - Day 4

The Gran's eyes suddenly go wide, all three of them.  This seems to be the universal reaction of surprise.  It's not a bad kind of surprise.  He just realized something.  "Kidding aside, my wealthy Bothan friend, but you may have hit on something with that joke of yours.", he says.  "What is the Empire ever looking for?  Jedi.  It occurs to me that this planet has a lot of remote crags to it.  It would be the perfect place for a Jedi to hide.  If that is the case, you'd be a fool to try to infiltrate the Imperial offices.  They'll be looking for deception of the Jedi kind.  How do I put this delicately?  A friend told me the Empire has special agents trained to look for Jedi.  They can sense any deception.  If the Empire is looking for a Jedi here, they'd have one of these agents here."

He paces the room as he mulls it all out.  "That's got to be it.  Think about it.  The Distombe are supporters of The Empire, right?  So why would The Empire risk harming their relations with the Distombe?  It's got to be something really important; something bigger than politics.  And why blockade this planet?  If it's like you say and The Empire doesn't really care about the Hutts' slave and spice trade, then why use so many ships to create a blockade?  If not illegal trade goods, what do they not want to leave this planet?  Or should I say, escape?", he reasons.

There were so many ideas out there now, he gave a long moment to pause before responding at all.  "I've been known to, uh, use disguises.  I suppose I can try to look into that for you, if you like Narik.  We'd have to probably purchase a uniform, make some sort of a trade for it, or we could just kill an Imperial," Aadun responded with a shrug.  There were multiple uses for having one of their own infiltrate the Imperials, though he had very little knowledge about their ability to sense deception.

Re: Mission to Ryloth Part I - Day 4

Narik was a soldier but he didn’t kill indiscriminately, that was one of the reason he quit the Imperial Navy. He shook his head “I don’t think we need to kill someone just for the use of a good disguise” the fact that he abhorred the idea was apparent on his face. He pondered the idea of espionage more however “it’s still worth a shot though, if we could scrounge a suitable disguise up from somewhere” he spoke more lightly. Then facing Rorik he proposed a new idea “if you could infiltrate the Imperial centre of operations unseen whilst I also penetrated it under disguise we would have the advantage of two pairs of eyes and if things got sticky we could come to the others aid” he nodded, confident that this was the way to go forward.

"We'd need to get some kind of access to their computers so that whoever's doing the infiltration would show up as allowed to be at that location." Kala chimed in. "Dressing up is one thing, having an authorization code and such is quite another. Killing a soldier might work, but we would have to alter their data and such to match the file." She finished, as she shook her head slightly.

"There's no guarentee that the imperials will leave here after we effect a regime change either. I agree that making them leave would probably be our best bet, but we also can't let our plots and schemes fall to the wayside."

Re: Mission to Ryloth Part I - Day 4

"Well you couldn't just kill an Imperial Officer." replies Arng Hould to Kala.  "There would be negative consequences, not so much to us, but to the population.  Say the Empire already suspects the locals of harboring a Jedi.  Kill an officer and then you are actively defending a Jedi.  Think of what happened with the Wookiees.  If you thought what the Hutts do to the Twi'leks is bad...

"No, no, you could borrow a uniform.  You know, arrange for one of their officers to become seduced by the pleasures Ryloth offers.  Wine, woman, and spice... a man could loose himself in debauchery for days.  While he's occupied, one of you steals his uniform and ID badge.  It's not like he will report it stolen right away.  He'd be too embarrassed to.  And he's not going to say he was kidnapped when he enjoyed it.  Worst that can come of it is we keep the uniform too long, he gets declared M.I.A., and then he has to explain where he's been the whole time.  Shouldn't be a problem though if you do what you need to quick enough when you report for duty posing as him.  The advantage of a blockade and a planet-wide search is that there are lots of troops marching around.  Most everyone doesn't recognize their fellows by face.  They would have had to have served with him on he same ship.  It's not like infiltrating a local garrison where everyone knows one another."

Narik agreed with Arng Hould “I don’t think that we can ignore the Imperials and should find out what we can about their plans. Arng’s idea could work” he shrugged his shoulders “I’ll give it a shot if the uniform can be acquired” it would be him taking the biggest risk and he was clearly willing. He had the feeling that everyone else also felt the same about the Imperials, whilst the blockade continued all of them would be on guard and their mission would be near impossible to complete.

Aadun smiled and nodded his head.  "Well, it sounds like we're well on our way to a plan now.  If we're all in agreement, let's make it happen," he said and paused for a moment as he thought about the best course of action.  "I suppose our first step would be to figure out where the troops are hanging out.  I'm betting that the locals aren't going to be happy about their presence, so that should be easy.  Then we can make a plan based around that information.  Finding somebody who resembles Narik would probably be best."

"We also need to consider speaking with Brill again."

"Unfortunately, I am not skilled at any of these things.  I am good at seeing danger coming.  Remember that no plan survives contact with the enemy.  So I'll be your lookout.  So who's this Brill character?  Can we trust him?", asks Arng.
