Mission to Ryloth Part I - Day 4 Brill's Office

Brill's Office

Brill's offices haven't changed much since yesterday. The staff recognize you today, though, and the receptionist makes an immediate call to Brill as you're walking in the front door.

"Master Ziveri has asked me to show you to the conference room," she says once everyone is inside.

Aadun smiled at the secretary and nodded.  "Good.  We will see him then," he said and waited for her to show them the way.  Part of him was a little nervous though what with the huge possibility that Brill is trying to kill Sinya.  If his hatred of her goes far enough, he may act irrationally.

Narik thanked the receptionist and then entered the conference room. He quickly looked around for any sign of trouble then sat down. He didn’t want to give anything away in case the other had some plan of how to deal with Brill so he made pleasantries “thank you for see us so quickly” he opened the talks.

Kala nodded to the receptionist as she entered behind the others, smiling sweetly. She placed her hand re-assuringly on Aadun's shoulder and nodded, hoping that the negotiation would go okay. She still hadn't told anyone of what she had discovered the other day, though she wanted a bit more information about it before she proceeded.

Arng says not a word to the secretary.  His eyes and his mind are elsewhere keeping an eye out for danger.  Though the others may trust Brill, Arng has never met him before and so doesn't trust him.  For all he knows, Brill is the one trying to assassinate Sinya and is only friendly to this group of co-conspirators so long as their goals co-incide.  Or maybe they don't con-incide at all, and he only pretends to be our friend so he can find out what we're doing, and then manipulate circumstances to make them help him.  "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.", as the saying goes.

Krysten watches whatever Arng does not.  It's obvious he knows what he's doing, and while she's not prepared to completely turn her back on him, she's at least willing to stand shoulder to shoulder with him.  She continually sweeps the area with her helmet package, keeping an eye out for anything unusual.

"It has only been a pair of days since we last met. Have you made much progress? I'll admit that I wasn't expecting to see you again so soon, but I am prepared to be impressed if you've already got good news for me," Brill says as he enters the conference room, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Tell me why you're here," he continues, getting straight to the point.

Re: Mission to Ryloth Part I - Day 4 Brill's Office

The Twi'lek, Brill, seemed very ill-informed for a person in his position.  If there was a bombing on a building during the night, word of it would have gotten all over the city by morning.  Brill also sounds too optimistic to Arng.  No one should expect such grand results after just two days, particularly when talking about removing someone from political power.  Was The Empire built in a day?  With so much false praise, Brill felt so disingenuous to Arng.

OOC: I accidentally left out a line when my browser froze, it seems. I will edit it momentarily. Brill is being sarcastic.

"We are sorry to have disturbed you, Lord Ziviri. I have been in contact with your father, and have found out why he requested your sister. Apparently, he does not trust his siblings and their children to look out for his own best interests, which is why she was mentioned." Kala said, as she bowed slightly to Brill. "We are working on accomplishing the goal, along with trying to figure out how we can help the quarentine to be lifted. I am sure you are using this time to gain leverage over your opponents for when the trade routes re-open."

Brill listens to Kala impatiently. "That doesn't answer the question I posed. Why are you here if you don't have results?

"I am a very busy man right now so I would appreciate it if you would get to the point."

"Results are being gained as we speak. Something to keep the Distombe clan off of Ryloth for a good, Long time. However, You must understand that which your father told us too. We will get you the power, but it doesn't benefit him in any way if it has to be split between himself and his siblings. He needs Sinya on that council." Kala replied. "Once we can confirm to your father that you are willing to work with your sister, then we can continue our efforts."

Re: Mission to Ryloth Part I - Day 4 Brill's Office

"Obviously, my father has some false assumptions about how much influence he would be wielding with a new Ziveri Regime. While I respect Orn Ziveri, his day has passed and he is exiled. He can not set foot on this planet without garnering a death sentence.

"While we would take his counsel in good faith, he will hold only an advisory position. I may have neglected to make that clear on your last visit.

"I have set my own plans in motion. If you succeed first, then I we will be able to thank my father for your assistance. If not... well, then no particular gratitude will be owed."

Re: Mission to Ryloth Part I - Day 4 Brill's Office

"I understand you perfectly. I believe your father did not mean to control you directly, only to have his own in control of the planet." Kala replied, as she nodded slightly. "But, as our employer, he had a right to make demands of us for this particular job. As a man of prestige and power, you must concede that if you were in his shoes, you would wish only your influence be heard on the council, instead of having to share it with one of your siblings." She finished, before taking in a breath.

"I understand that you have your own contingency plans in place, but while yours may accomplish your goal quickly, it will continue on this cycle. If you were able to completely turn the entire populace against your foes, making sure that no one trusted them enough to dare to listen to them, that would be a true victory, would it not? If the Distombe clan were completely removed from ever getting power again, it would be to your advantage. Our plan offers that. You are wise, and powerful, and I ask you to consider these words from a simple servant." She finished, as she bowed low to him.

Aadun stood back and let Kala control the conversation.  He wasn't exactly sure what the aim was for coming here since Narik and Kala were the ones who insisted.  If it looked like they were in danger of pissing him off too much, he would step in.  Hopefully, not too late.

Re: Mission to Ryloth Part I - Day 4 Brill's Office

The Gran detects nothing but a note of sarcasm on Brill.  He seems honest enough, if self-serving.  Still, he had the air of someone who is more opponent than ally in the bodyguard's estimation.  It would be best to keep an eye out for those contingency plans.  Things like that are designed to accomplish short term goals, and don't take into consideration more long term goals.  Plus there is the way that Kala was addressing Brill that worried Arng.  It sounded like she was addressing a Hutt.  That really worries him.

Narik sat with the others wondering if a different type of diplomacy was required. The group had been careful not to alien any possible allies but it seemed that they had little luck in making any progress. Perhaps it was time to act with more courage and force. Narik’s hand reached towards his blasters if Brill didn’t cooperate with Kala’s diplomacy he’d try his own.

Brill watches Kala for a few moments after she has finished speaking, considering his own answer. "I will not knowingly disrupt your efforts, but I won't abandon my own plans, either.

"I don't know you or your capabilities and I'm not putting my future in your hands, regardless of my father's intentions."

"Your father isn't just trying to secure your rightful place, but to also set up a very financially beneficial relationship," he began and smiled.  "When we succeed, options will be available to you that will increase your profits by as much as 25%.  Whether or not your father would help you with this if you reject Sinya, however, is between the two of you."
