Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

Following the lieutenant's directions, they arrive at what appears to be a break room in a storage area. A desk has been set up and a pair of stormtroopers, helmets off, are eating products from a vending machine in the far corner of the room.

A very bored lieutenant looks up at them, very interested when he sees Kala. "Oh, another prisoner for transport to the ship, Commander?" he asks, taking in Narik's rank quickly enough. "There's a bit of paperwork to fill out and we'll take her off your hands, sir."

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

“Lieutenant” Narik greeted the officer with customary decorum “as you wish” he consented to the delay as he stopped at the desk to perform any needed checks and file any paperwork. As he completed the task he engaged the officer in conversation “before the prisoner is transported I still have to conclude my interrogation. It will not take much time and I will endeavour to not cause any disturbance. I will complete my business in her appointed cell” the official request made Narik smiled and relaxed. Casually he enquired about Kaiten’s whereabouts “is the Jedi still here?”

Kala shivered a little, at the suggestion that she might have to go alone. Not from apprehension or fear, but knowing how she should be reacting. She had taken on a defeated appearance, since no one seemed to care about the plight of an innocent alien.

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

"That's... irregular, sir. I'm sure the Inquisitor can handle questioning when he gets them to them to the ship," the Lieutenant says as he walks Narik through the paperwork and forms.

"It's not outside of regulations, though. You're the Commander. Please sign in here, then. The guard will show you to an interrogation room. We're short on space and having to use small storage closets as holding cells. They're the only rooms which secure from the outside. Too cramped for conversation."

A stormtrooper on duty walks up behind Narik and Kala at the Lieutenant's signal. "There are a half-dozen 'Jedi' down there. I don't see any evidence of it, myself, but the Inquisitor's apprentice sniffed them out and so they're here."

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

Half a dozen Jedi? These inquisitors obviously meant business, although they probably weren’t Jedi at all, poor sods. If they couldn’t single out where Kaiten was being held they’d probably end up releasing all of them.

Narik followed the directions offered. When they reached the interrogation room Narik pushed Kala in and then instructed the stormtrooper to follow her “I’ll need your assistance a moment to secure the prisoner” he closed the door to seal the three of them in. He then signalled for the stormtrooper to restrain Kala, then once the stormtrooper’s hands were engaged with holding Kala rather than defending himself or wielding a blaster Narik moved into action.

Although the soldier was now approaching his middle years he was well trained and disciplined. Swiftly he bent at the waist and swung his body to throw himself out of balance. In a swirling movement his right foot kicked high in the air, aiming to kick the stormtrooper in the head.

OOC I know I shouldn’t presume the stormtrooper will fall for the trick but I’ve rolled Narik’s attack in the hope that he does.
08:08, Today: Narik rolled 13 using 1d8+5 with rolls of 8. Damage.
08:07, Today: Narik rolled 16 using 1d20+7 with rolls of 9. Attack.
08:07, Today: Narik rolled 18 using 1d20+15 with rolls of 3. Initiative.

Perhaps because he is a stormtrooper and conditioned to follow orders without really thinking, the soldier does as instructed. Narik takes him by surprise, and while the man is rattled, he's not down.

Combat: Kala, roll Initiative, please.

Seeing Narik throw the first blow, Kala readied herself to throw one of her own, though, her own combat prowess was not quite as good as it had used to be.

You rolled 6 using 1d20+4 ((2)). Initative
You rolled 8 using 1d20+5 ((3)).-Attack Stormtrooper

The trooper seems to be momentarily stunned and definitely surprised, allowing Narik another attempt at knocking him out before he can call for help.

Stormtrooper will act before Kala, but after Narik.

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

Without giving the stormtrooper the opportunity to retaliate or call for aid Narik continued his beating. Turning a half circle Narik twisted his body around as his right leg began its descent, flipping his left leg up to connect with the stormtrooper’s back. Knocking his opponent off his feet and to the ground.

The conflict must have only lasted seconds and Narik hadn’t had to push himself too hard. It was only the beginning however. Narik began to strip the stormtrooper of his armour and weapons “we won’t have much time until they notice he’s missing. Whatever you’ve got in that bag get it ready. It might not be so quick to incapacitate both the stormtrooper and Lieutenant”.

When the stormtrooper was stripped Narik began to dress himself in the armour “can you find something to bind him?” he asked Kala as he got himself ready “I don’t want him coming around and signalling the alarm”.

OOC I'm hoping that's enough to knock the trooper out. I'll edit post if not.
06:27, Today: Narik rolled 11 using 1d8+5 with rolls of 6. Damage.

OOC: Assuming the stormie goes down. Will edit if not.

Kala nodded, and looked around for something to secure the stormtrooper with. Binders or something he was carrying. Once she had found something, she went into her bag, and turned away from Narik. SHe had done this so when she began to undo her shirt, he wouldn't be too embarassed. From the bag, she pulled out some kind of modified holster, that slid around her torso, and snaked it's way up. The other thing she pulled out was a metal cylinder, which she clipped to the holster, before straightening her hair over the whole affair. A few moments later, and she had fixed herself up, and turned around. "I'd prefer a pistol, if he has a spare."

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

The stormtrooper goes down to Narik's second hit. He clatters to the floor making too much noise for comfort, but there are no sounds in the hallway to indicate that others heard.

The stormtrooper was only carrying his rifle, slung over his shoulder. Kala recalls that the Lieutenant at the desk had a pistol sidearm, though. The stormtrooper's binding cuffs, which would have been used to secure Kala now are used on him, instead.

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

As quickly as he could Narik donned the unconscious stormtroopers armour. Narik thought that taking on a second disguise would help avert suspicion and fool any pursuit. Before he lifted the helmet onto his head he gave Kala a smile, her words echoed his own and he began to feel he could trust his companion. Something that had seemed a far away hope when the group had been initially flung together “we can release them but we can’t promise them they will reach freedom, our own escape will be fraught with its own perils”.

Kala exited the room, and began to make her way down the hall, as quietly as she could, staying behind Narik as best as she could. The blaster in her hand was a small comfort, since she didn't want to reveal too much if she didn't have to.

His identity concealed by stormtrooper armour Narik was cool headed as he returned to the officer and his remaining trooper. Once he close enough he raised his rifle and filled the room with blaster fire.

OOC Since the stormtrooper and lieutenant will be expecting the commander and stormtrooper to return together I think it best if they there’s blasé about it. If they hear two people approaching it shouldn't alert any suspicions. Then once Narik can see them both he’ll shoot.

Hit 18/ Damage 18

08:00, Today: Narik rolled 14,4 using d20+3,d6 with rolls of 11,4. Autofire+Force Point vs Officer&Trooper.
08:01, Today: Narik rolled 18 using 3d8+2 with rolls of 8,3,5. Blaster Rifle Damage.

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

The room layout is such that there is a desk by the door where a bored lieutenant is sitting. In the far corner of the break room, there is a small table where two off-duty stormtroopers are having snacks. The solo stormtrooper is currently out of his armor and bound in what would have been Kala's cell.

Narik, you've got two options for that attack. Either 1) Attack the Officer alone, or 2) You can get both of the off-duty stormtroopers.

And don't forget that there is another lieutenant with a pair of stormtroopers about 30 meters away, at the elevator. They're definitely going to hear blaster fire.

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

I’d love to do this another way but I’m running low on ideas.

The problem as I see it is that there’s at least three more Imperials that need to be silenced whilst we release the prisoners then think about trying to transport them somewhere else.

Since you’re being kind enough to offer options I’m assuming if we try to shoot our way out we’re bound to lose against the sheer number of stormtroopers we’ll be forced to face, so we need a plan.

Here’s the best I can think of on the spot.

Narik now has an Imperial comlink (the one installed in the stormtrooper helmet) and will presumably be able to learn from it what frequency the base communications are set to. With his toolkit could he use his comlink to jam the others? So he and Kala could attempt to subdue the three nearest opponents without them raising the alarm. Two versus three they might stand a chance and avoid the need to use blasters. Does Kala reckon she could handle the officer whilst Narik combated the pair of troopers?

Any other ideas? What do you think of that one?

I was kind enough to present options because I don't have a map and I'm concerned about making sure the situation is clear. I'd hate for bad things to happen to you because I didn't clarify things.

Varis is providing a distraction about now. Time is not flowing the same in all threads. The point of the diversion is to draw off a large portion of those innumerable stormtroopers which might kick your butt.

Jamming the comlink could be done, I believe. However, it might also serve to block the incoming message that they're needed elsewhere when it comes.

Well, If Narik is able to take down the stormies, Kala might be able to stun the officer with a well-placed blaster shot. Granted, the ones down the hall might notice the shots.

Don't suppose the Stormtrooper we subdued had any stun grenades?

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

Well if the comlink can be jammed I think it’s worth a shot. It would only have to be temporary; once the nearby enemies had been subdued the comlink could be returned to normal.

I was hoping Kala could deal with the officer without using the blaster, but if she had to we just have to be quick so we didn’t get overrun when the other two stormtroopers and the other lieutenant come to investigate. Kala will be the obvious target as well, as Narik is in stormtrooper armour it won’t be easy for any of the Imperials to know who to attack. If Kala felt better equipped with a weapon rather than her fists she could try using a tool i.e. fusion cutter or power prybar as a weapon.

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

With the stormtrooper disabled and Narik now borrowing his armour the soldier sat down with his head uncovered. The stormtrooper helmet sat upturned in his lap. Tools in hand he tinkered with the inside of the helmet doing his best to jam the comlinks of the other troopers nearby.

As he worked he talked with Kala regarding their plans “Follow behind me, when we attack we need to silence them all. I will attack the stormtroopers; stop the officer raising the alarm, if possible without using the blaster” when Narik had done as much as he could with the comlink he fitted the helmet on and lead Kala out.

OOC As Narik’s Use Computer and Mechanics are the same I just rolled rather than pick which one to use.
07:54, Today: Narik rolled 15 using 1d20+9 with rolls of 6. Use Computer/Mechanics-Jam comlink .

The plan as I see it so far is for Narik as a stormtrooper to escort Kala back toward the lieutenant then whilst she attacks the lieutenant he will attack the stormtroopers in unarmed combat.

A brief test of the comlink reveals to Narik that things seem to be jammed. Neither the officer or the two off-duty stormtroopers notice anything wrong as Narik walks in, wearing the stolen armor. The lieutenant is busy with paperwork and the two stormtroopers are laughing quietly in the corner.

They failed their Perception checks.

Surprise Round.
Roll Initiative and then go ahead and roll attack and damage.

Re: Day 4/5 - Imperial Base/Sienar Complex

Narik had witnessed plenty on his journeys with the Navy around the galaxy. He'd fought along Jedi and against all types of species. He believed that they were forces outside his control and understanding, he didn’t waste time pondering the philosophies but he thanks the powers that neither the lieutenant nor stormtroopers reacted to his approach.

Lightning fast he spun into action his armoured fists and feet turning into lethal weapons as he lashed outward aggressively.

OOC Narik attack one of the stormtroopers and present himself as a target for the other, preferring rather that they both attack him than take any interest in Kala. I’ve rolled an AoO in case the stormtroopers provoke an AoO with their actions.
22:48, Today: Narik rolled 10 using 1d20+7 with rolls of 3. Possible AoO to hit.
22:39, Today: Narik rolled 7 using 1d8+5 with rolls of 2. Martial Arts damage.
22:38, Today: Narik rolled 16 using 1d20+7 with rolls of 9. Martial Arts attack vs stormtrooper.
22:36, Today: Narik rolled 18 using 1d20+15 with rolls of 3. Initiative.
