Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

a little slow here - family visiting from out of province (they go back this weekend) and work push has been nuts - imagine the gall of people wanting to leave early on gorgeous summer days... and the worse gall of people bringing in more work to prevent me!  :)

The Thread-Weaver:
So guys, how are the chars coming along? I hope to get going on monday. Linni and Fareeda: Don't forget you'll need to make changes to your existing backgrounds.

I have most of mine done except for some gear (should we be shopping for mosquito nets?) and my description and background history. I pretty much know what I want to write, so I should be ready by Monday. You can review the mechanics now of my character sheet on here if you want.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

Well if you're struggling Abbas just try to get the background/personality/description done first as stats shouldn't be needed in the initial rp scenes.

On a lighter note;

I love Penny Arcade :D

I will leave it up to you what gear you guys want to take. What I will say is that I will be focusing on an element of realism in this campaign, i.e. it won't be just monsters etc. you have to deal with in the jungle ;) There will of course be basic supplies on board the Scilandar but who's to say you will always be on board ;)

Ok..I'm done with my background and personality. How does it look? Do I need to add anything?  I only need to finish with my equipment list, and I should be ready to go.

Girlfriend's round for the weekend but will look over your sheet tommorow :] I'm not sure how far along Abbas is but I know alahendra is having some dental problems at the moment so we may have to start without him/her (?).

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

Hey guys, just to let you know alahendra is having some serious RL issues and is bowing out of this game.

What would you guys prefer to do, wait until I can bring in a replacement - who will in turn need further time to create their own char, or get on with the game with 4 of you? I'm happy to go with the majority here.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

I've always had preference for 4 player groups.

But that just might be me oldschooling it.

I say leave it how it is.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

we have warrior, MU, and priest core - good enough to run on for sure.

If need be, I can branch to take in a bit of rogue/ranger later on.

I'm fine either way.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

Ok we'll continue on, I have possible plans for another player later on in the game if need be.

Just waiting for Abbas to do his char sheet and Linni to make a few changes to her background (since it's focused on Arabel still ;) and then we can get going!

Ok well I think everyone's itching to start roleplaying so I will go ahead and prep the opening - Abbas can join in once his sheet is finished.

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

You bet - should be done in a couple hours.  Our travel back was delayed by some family problems, a rainstorm, and some more family problems... quite a day.

Working half on work and half on gaming (100% on work if anyone comes into the office on this day off! :) )

Abbas:
"So it would seem," Abbas replied in quiet contemplation.  "I must admit my surprise - from the nature of the referral I received to attend here, I had understood more persons would be presenting themselves, although such does not seem to be developing to be the case.

So true!  Where are the other players?

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

I think I'll give up with that crazy 2nd person style, it's ok for bigger intros but just seems a bit silly in smaller updates.

And yea Linni's already inside ;]

Couldn't wait any longer - must.post.gaming....

Hmm.. need to do a little researching for the computer replacement.  Nice gaming computer without making my wife's eyes bug out at the cost - such a delicate line to tread :)

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

What kind of gaming will you be needing it for? I doubt you'll need Pentium 5000 (?) processors for RPOL! And if it's the other kind of gaming you're after, xbox 360s are always cheap ;]

Oh and there's no posting order when outside of combat, I should probably add that to the posting etiquette. Post when and where you wish!

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

I'm a PC gamer (tho I don't mind the odd console game).

Gimme a nice high-graphic game, or even the MMOs that love to suck out system resources.

The set-up I had before was nosing around the quad P4s, but that was months back, so start from beginning I say, I say.  Good power production, good cooling, good sound and graphic card... yep.  That's the ticket.  't'will be a desktop tho, as I want to slave an old HD into it, and upgrades are easier, and comparable systems are much cheaper in desktop than laptop.  (I'll steal the wife's laptop if I need one for business trips *looks about furtively to ensure she's not watching him type this*)

None of them are a patch on tabletop games, but no group out here, or even a gameshop.  *feels very neglected by the gaming gods*

Re: Jungle Fever [OOC]

I like PC games but I find it so hard to keep up with the demand for upgrades. I swear to play some of the games out they expect you to manipulate warp cores and other technologies that haven't yet been invented.

I just play the old games that you always know are gunna work. Diablo I & II, Counterstrike, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale etc. In fact I only stopped playing Ultima Online (pretty much the first MMO) about a year ago. After 13 years the playerbase is only just starting to dwindle and unlike all this WoW crap there were really dedicated roleplaying communities. Ah the memories *tear*

For graphics, I just go with the 360. Can't beat Oblivion on an HDTV *drools*
