Will save

13:52, Today: Mord rolled 34 using 1d20+19.  Will Save.

34!  Amazing!

Hey, wait a second.  You have a +0 bonus, not a +19.  That's a 15.  Failed a DC 19 challenge.
The good news?  Not a very vital roll.  :-)
Sunna failed too.

We'll give Holly a little time to see if your tower of WILL can make the save.

Now we have the Tome...

So what should we do? I think we need to talk to the priests, and a little R&R might be nice.

Certainly want to find someone strong enough in Clerical power to help Scotty.
Not sure how we test the Book, but would not like to do that in the city, in case of "complications".

Couldn't agree more on each point.
I don't see Mord as wanting to remain in the city overlong, but a nice night of frolicing, some proving his manhood again/training with the guards, and he'd be set to jaunt outside (ok, he'd do a second night at the petticoat, but don't push it more than three nights)

If we don't know what the book does... being away from people is most, most wise.

Re: Now we have the Tome...

Finding a priest is a good thing!

And testing the book somewhere out of town seems wise to me, too.

Sunna's also in for some dancing, storytelling (or -hearing) and good food and drink. And cheering for Mord while he fights with some guards - only for training, of course :-D

Re: Now we have the Tome...

“As it stands now, The Tome of Legends is a very large book made up entirely of blank pages. However, if you can get the book and sign your names on the first page it will transform you into legends and record your mighty deeds automatically until your deaths, at which point you will be erased from its pages.” - Arkus

'transform you into legends' is a bit vague, but at least you know what to do to make that happen.

Mord already is a legend.  Spose it might spread word of him faster.  Still worth an "X".

Mord, I see "literacy payoff" on your character sheet.  I assume that means you paid the 2 skill points to be literate.  True?

Pliffa or Goldenpoint for upgrades, eh?  Argie looked new to the field, and Coal had good cookies too, so Pliffa is Mord's preferred diversion, but one takes what one can get as travelling in distance areas to help restore folk.

At some point, ask Holly what they had to do to get her scythe enchanted.  There are some stories.  :-)

Loot and Love

There was a variant in some book, though can't recall fml, of magically-sensitive weapons "developing" in response to "critical" moments.  A series of critical hits maybe putting check marks towards keen or other boom weapon enhancements, or some lucky nat20 saves on big fireballs being ticks towards fire resistance piece, etc.  I don't recall the mechanics precisely, but it was a nice way to have items emerge in time (or be found) without the Ye Olde Magick Shoppe and its subletted Starbucks.

Maybe need to track that idea down for our home game.

As a side note, post gremlin ate my previous post, which was much more impressive, but lacked the jest to Sunna :)

Death and Taxes

Fritzholm:
Minor note:  From experience, you know they don't tend to tax you for going out and back in a few hours later.  The exception would be if you picked up some goods in the interim.
That was my understanding, and Mord's comment about the quick outside visit.

Are you caught up on the story progression since your pause, Adiel?

Mord's player also excited as the Riders (CFL) won their first game last night, AND against undefeated team.  We had a fun road trip weekend.
