Church Row

Jaleh found a city map in one of the nearby government buildings with just a quick search of the area. Check the game map section for what she found.

For the most part the city streets near the North Gate of deserted.

Re: Church Row

After Jaleh finds the map he lets her lead the way.

"A moment, little one," he says, and draws the figurine of Leo from his pack.  Murmuring the word he watches as the lion grows and says, "Now we have a suitable escort - who knew the Falcon would bind himself to the Lion!"

He ruffles the mane of the beast and waits for Jaleh to set off.

Re: Church Row

"Cute." Jaleh said in response to A'kos. She was still eying the lion with a wary measure of respect and caution. "How do you mean you're bound to it? Can't you get rid of it now? Not that you'd want to, I mean. Just, isn't there a choice?" While she asked the questions, Jaleh began walking off toward their destination, stepping sideways half the time so that she could still face A'kos sometimes.

Re: Church Row

Jaleh, A'kos and Leo make their way towards the destination covering a few blocks without seeing a soul. The streets are empty, they are also fairly quiet. They are roughly a quarter of the way there when someone steps out of the house, sees the lion and runs back in.

Re: Church Row

"Sometimes the threat of force is better than the use of force," murmurs A'kos as he sees the man turn in retreat.

"Aye, love, I can dismiss him I suppose, but he's frisky and deserve a good waltz...and he makes a mighty guardian."

"Sometimes it's also better to avoid attention," Jaleh quipped at A'kos after the man went back inside his house.

"We should pick up the pace before anything else happens. Villagers tend to attract help whenever they start getting scared. I'm also a little skeptical about a 'firsky' lion." Trying to do as she suggested, Jaleh began moving a bit faster to put some distance between them and the man's house.

Re: Church Row

"Ah, but not a frisky Falcon," he chuckles, though he follows closely enough behind the diminutive woman to admire her curves.

Re: Church Row

Half way to church row and the streets are still empty. Jaleh and A'kos can hear the sound of a running skirmish perhaps for a minute of two then all is relatively silent again.

Re: Church Row

"Well, a frisky falcon knows how to behave himself better." Jaleh answered as they walked.

Later, upon hearing the sounds of a skirmish, Jaleh slowed her walk in order to be silent and began watching around them. "What do you make of that?" She asked A'kos, voice barely above a whisper.

Re: Church Row

"A fight...near enough to make me cautious," mutters A'kos as he looks around.  "Need to see if there are any bolt holes in case we've got to find one - I've no wish to be ridden down."

"Let's see if there are any side alleys that'll lead in the direction you seek, and anywhere up high for Leo or one of us to scout the landscape."

Re: Church Row

It is possible to travel the roof tops for a bit but there will be lots of climbing between here and Church Row. It will take considerably longer to go that route. There are however many back streets and allies.

Re: Church Row

Looking about for a likely over hang A'kos sends the lion upward to scout the nearest roads.

"Go Leo up, and tell us what you see!" he says.

"It sounds like the fight is over though, at least for the most part. Let's stick to back streets and such. It'll be a little slower, but quicker than climbing if you were thinking of following the cat." As Jaleh began to move on toward one such alleyway, she looked at A'kos curiously. "Can that thing actually talk?"

Leo bounds away and is back seconds later...he has nothing to report...all is still clear.

"No, little one," shrugs A'kos.  "I just kinda know what he's thinkin'...like right now he's calm which means all's clear.  Lead the way - come, Leo!"

Re: Church Row

Leo does indeed lead the way to Jaleh's destination. No one dares cross the path of the black lion and his two comrades for the rest of the way to Church Row 1.

As you turn on to the street marked Chruch Row you see a very large mansion, almost fortress like building on the left hand side of the street. it is clearly marked with a Roman numeral 'I'. It has large double oaken door that face the street.

It is clear that this is a nice area of the city.

"Nice place," A'kos said, looking up at the manse with obvious appreciation.  "Is this where you had in mind?"
