Re: On the run

Nik wakes to Tanns call for help and quickly arms himself with sword and shield.
Meanwhile, Tann rushes forward to strike the creature with his glowing sword. As he nears he sees exactly what it is in the glow shed by his weapon - a gigantic porcupine!
Tann is slightly quicker than the spiky animal, hitting it and drawing a respectable about of blood. The porcupine retaliates by shaking it's body violently, sending a number of loose quills at Tann!

New round, roll initiative, attacks and damage (if you think you hit).
Nik is still by the camp fire, approximately 40 metres from the action.

Re: On the run

The porcupine acts before both Tann and Nik. Four quills shoot out impacting in Niks exposed flesh.
Both Nik and Tann fail to hit this round.

New round...

Re: On the run

Nik takes a step back, pokes his sword into the ground before him and speaks a short phrase of power. Fingers extended towards the Porcupine, he sends three bolts of magical energy into the animal.
Tann then takes his turn, swinging his short blade at the quill covered body, successfully scoring a hit.
Then it is it's turn. Where before it was obviously angry, now it's positively furious. Snapping at Tann with it's jaws, it also rams it's spine covered body against the dwarf, impaling him on several quills. Although he pulls free easily, he's left with some very nasty wounds.
New round.

Re: On the run

Nik gets his spell off just around the same time as Tann strikes with a massive blow. The beast falls to the ground (not exactly a long way since it only has short legs), but Tann isn't let off without penalty.
His short weapon caused him to lean heavily into the quills to inflict his wound, and in return he suffers terribly as four of the long spikes push through his leather armour and into his flesh.
The battle is over although both of you appear to be trying to impersonate pin cushions and neither of you is anywhere near full health.
