Re: (Raelis) The Lesser Litheris
Well the cat was out of the bag, at least as far as Roid was concerned. Thankfully, the others were nicely kept in the dark. Ruse had passed tha Callisti successfully, so at the very least Aesin and company could get off of his ass for a while. Roid probably suspected Ruse at the very least, but the slithering councilman did not seem to necessarily view Ruse as an enemy - or as completely expendable. Not like Max at least.
Ruse made a decision. He could take the safest way and hide the items at much risk to himself (mostly from the conclave), or he could display his innocence in the Osiris case as well as increase his credibility to Roid. At the very least, he could make a good impression on the systemarch, who seemed to be "on the fence" in terms of his view on Ruse. Really, at this point Ruse felt Roid could go either way in terms of living or hating him.
Ruse stood up and approached Roid confidently, although not threateningly. He nodded his head in a most refined manner, and replied,
"My lord councilman, I do indeed possess the two items that you seek. I have been keeping them safe, although recent events..." he said as he shot a nasty glance at Aesin, before softening his features and looking upon Roid once more.
"...until recent events have forced my attention elsewhere. I was - quite frankly - concerned by the fact that they were possessede by you know who, and took them away to protect the tree. However, you did stop these annoying proceedings to speak to me about this, yes, so I do feel your sincerety in this matter is genuine, and I respect that. I will get the items immediately and paradox them over to the halls of the Sun immediately and give them to you there, for your convenience and the sake of safety."
Ruse protected the integrity of the information by not mentioning specific names. He wondered if Roid would notice or not. Ruse snapped his fingers and opened a portal, and responsed.
"I swear on the Master Divine that I will immediately go and do as you ask, but like you said I really must go now before the items are compromised, and the items are in my realm so I must leave here. I am still a member of the Conclave, after all, as the Callisti has not declared my guilt."
Ruse was being completely truthful this time - he really was retreiving the items for Roid. At worst, if Roid wanted to unleash Osiris, he could try and figure out a way to stop him. On the other hand, if Roid really did want to contain Osiris and just went about this dubiously...well then Ruse will have accomplished his objective by finding someone else to help watch out for things.
"I'm sorry gentlemen but I must leave your gracious presences now to assist our glorious councilman. Your Callisti also didn't pin anything on me, so hopefully we can move past this and I can focus on my missions."
Ruse didn't make a sudden bolt for his portal - he didn't want anyone to think he was hostile. However, he did walk toward it and enter it at a walking pace. He had a sinking suspicion that if anyone interfered with his departure, that Roid would have their heads.
