Master Divine or not, I think everyone will be pretty impressed at the crazy stuff I intend on doing.

I'm impressed already just at the claim. I've seen a lot of crazy stuff. Can you top realms full of goblins having sex with each other all the time, or using your point of essence to make all the goblin penises turn into metal spikes that easily decimating your population?

It's really just exactly how my realm was in the end there. Used to be a huge forest and stuff, but Noooo, I have to go and blow up a crystal tower by trying to teleport while holding a space crystal and wipe everything on the surface. Coincidentally, I had just moved my people underground, and out of the blast radius.
The explosion was really my plan all along, to kill those damn squirrels...

Game will commence on the 25th August - 24th for you crazy Americans, I guess - for real. Hopefully the rules will all be nailed out by then. Feel free to make a first post in your realm, but chances are I won't respond until the 24th. This is to give me time to finalize stuff as well as for you guys to absorb the rules (and for Max to get back from vacation). Sorry for the inconvenience to those impatient souls who consider themselves inconvenienced ; )

Oh, and thank Christ I opened registration a week early, the huge rush of players - we filled up in around twenty-four hours, full set of twelve players - has ground me down pretty hard.

Feel free to post like mad in OOC and get to know each other. Clarification and requests can be made as per usual via the PM system :D

Well, Crailek, Metatron and Raelis would be the hardest. Not just that they're all Hallowed Leords, but also because of their experience and ingenuity when it comes to the game.

My guy would be easy to kill... he's a fun char, not a "BUILD TO SURVIVE" char lol.

No character can be truly built to survive in one of my games. I'll always get them with something.

By the way, my philosophy for surviving: Hit it, then run and hide. Considering Crailek didn't die until the third game with him in it, and that was basically suicide, it's a pretty damn good tactic.

Oh, Florah, you're going to love me when I explain in the setting how the only reason the part of Earth lost within the Realm Supernatural hasn't been invaded or destroyed is because of their advanced nuclear weapon defense plan: any God who threatens them gets a nuclear bomb sent to their realm

Do they have enough nukes? And if I keep racking up Decrees, you know what happens to my tank power. *Evil grin*

Oh to get MY hands on a Nuke, the things that could be done with that much destructive force, make for one heck fire work it would, or a paper weight for the worlds largest book or, if I am really bored, to put in the center of a town in a pool of water hoping some brave hero will shut it off with the magical skills he some how has while having lived in a vualt all his life not even knowing what a nuke is!

It would appear so, but fear not I am sure I can trick some other god into buying a gender change belt off me at some point. Think of the practical use! Hide from people in plain sight, they would never expect you to suddenly have extra or missing part's that where never present before.

I am not to afraid to be honest, ill just make an array of magnets to push your nuke from all sides till it crumples into a ball and explodes in the air, then giant fans will blow the radiation away back out of my realm. Trust me, if you are goin to nuke someone I am not the one to nuke, I am the only one with a stable supply of Oil, and you need oil.

Everyone should read the finalized Conclave Herald for welcoming and Laws. Just so you can't claim you didn't know when the government attacks you :P

I could probably work out a few ways to get myself killed while imprisoned. And even if it doesn't work, it'd still be awesome.

Sheer chaos would ensue. Cats and dogs would sleep together, there would be a starbucks across the street from a starbucks, and the sun would fall from the sky.

Heh, just to let you know Metatron was the original Mad God and the one who spread it in the realms in the first game. But I dunno, players are always good targets, but the conclave is too obvious a target NOT to want to infiltrate them and destroy them within!

Well I am sure they will be angry if I say no to trading my 25% of my whole realm oil supply with them since Oil is a usefull resource, but I don't intend to let them have any of it so feel free to destroy them, helps me in the long run.

Just an idea, not really planning on taking on such a huge foe at such an early stage. For now, exploration is in order.

Knowing your nature I have a feeling being one of your true Allies may be immpossible but I am going to try, what's life without alittle risk?

Hehe, I actually had alot of allies in previous games and we did prosper.

I'd make a good ally for anyone who can withstand a little teasing and isn't totally rude.

Adamantium, hmm, I dont remember but I'm sure if you had a hot enough forge you could.

Probably if I stand on the sun (Which I can do safely) I might be able to. If not I'll just go deeper.

If you do stand on the sun, how are you gonna work a liquid? And how are you gonna bring it back?

Well the sun is dense enough that the surface is essentially solid. But yeah, there's the breathing problem. And liquid containment in a vacuum on a super-hot extremely dense ball of space-plasma.

I just have to... I really don't know if would work, but. The power providing the immunity to natural heat and cold has a certain range (I'm not saying), so in theory I bring an anvil, a hammer and a really long pair of tongs. I'd just extend the Adamantium out, let it melt a while, pull it back in and HAMMER TIME.

But that probably wouldn't work.

You could just level up and get a power that lets you melt and shape adamantium.

You're the god of energy, turn its matter into energy then reform it into matter in whatever shape you want. E=MC^2 :)

Actually, all of my powers now deal with high amounts of energy. I was gonna hit the other end of the spectrum when I get more.

Hey I'm going to be everyone's ally because I'm not a fighter! I'm a awesome kick ass good friend who's a complete weaking... I mean I bring the women, booze, and clams(or whatever they calls those Conclave stones) to ya...

And yet Tyche's major power, "The Wind of Chance", kills any mortal instantly, can destroy any  wall, and instantly melts a God's face off upon contact. Oh, and the beam itself is invisible.

Hello there, it's me again, Chalybis (actually the God of Industrialization, but that is too long for the board). Now with 100% less cuteness, 100% more decay by ageing, and about 73% more unpleasant intentions.

As a fair warning in advance, it is unlikely that any of you will approve of my doings in-game. And yes, it does involve the deaths of countless small and furry creatures. ;)

I think it's safe to say almost all the gods here are "Lady" like and polite unless provoked, and I may have just Provoked all of them :D.

The towers were built 500 years after Theogenesis 2.0 i think.

Well... time for a god is difficult.
Also, weren't there two 2.0's?
But really, 500 years could span anywhere from a day in-game play to an entire game.

From what I understand from MD, I remember up to the point from where I first ascended. But of course I am not an ascended here and it does not even apply, I am just like everyone else. But memory wise thats as far as I can remember from what he said. Which is about halfway through 2.0.

Hmm, I just noticed something. What did Raelis and Crailek do to get their additional degree? I (fully, permanently, and irrevocably) got rid of my magic ability for mine, so what big thing did they lose?

If you are a Returned God, you start at rank 2.
You then have 2 Degrees to spend how you wish, thus making you rank 4.
Notice how we are rank one in both magic and Battle, while you are rank 2 in battle.

Crailek and Raelis are listed as being both a Hallowed Leord and Slight instead of Fragile, which means three degrees were spent. Some of us (Tyche and me) have obvious drawbacks which grant us that extra degree, but neither of you appears to have one.

Hey, so it is...
Either it is a clerical error,
or it is cause we spent what equates to thousands of years in a training room out of sync with current time, and remember said training.

It's most likely the first, though, as most of that training was Psionic based in the first place. Also, that would be just unfair to everyone else.

I presume it is the former too, otherwise I want a second additional degree too. ;)


And how do you like my intro post? I figured first impressions are the most important so I put a little extra effort into it.

Thank you, but I currently stick to short stories only, as I'm less likely to get stuck halfway something I cant finish that way. Plus, short stories make great writing samples for places like RPoL. ;)

I've played many characters, but none of my characters have ever killed another god or aramanthed another god.

I aramanthed a god. But I didn't kill him. I did shoot him in the crotch with a cactus though.

I believe I have aramanth'd two and stole a power from each.
One was the power to reverse time.
The other to return all damage done to me in a single attack and preventing me from taking any.

Both worth it.

One of my replacement gods is a God of Time and Space. Sexy thing is he didn't stop time, but he had this really, REALLY, awesome attack.

Heh, I'm fully intent on dying at least once during this game. How else am I supposed to get access to more and better Psionic powers? Obviously, I do intend to wait until I have a relatively large amount of degrees to spend on them before I do so, as there's no sense in wasting a life for a single power. ;)


And I haven't heard of any of you before as far as I know. I wonder how well that is going to end when we meet...

Apparently I am going to die in 11 days, on September 3. Turns out September 3 is the 246th day of the year.

You see, on June 21st I had a sudden feeling that I would die in 108 days. I have 11 days left.

My goals before that date;

- Have Sex With Angel
- Have Sex with Tessa
- Finish my Homework
- Draw a Comic
- Finish The Meaning of Night

All rather simple to do, but they are the few things I really must do before my death.

My kickass Divine Master Sword is to go to Armanthor, because I know he will put it to good use.

In light of my impending doom, I have created a new character.

Sorry for the lack of business from me, it's been a huge weekend. The Raelis/Crailek error has been fixed. Blame it on seventeen RTJ's, designing a whole new system, figuring out a setting, writing two short stories and starting a novel, visiting friends, my impending deafness and a huge lack of sleep.

No comment on whether or not Max will die. I.. honestly don't know what I'd say.

Hell, there's a rule in the Herald expressly forbidding you become exactly that.

Considering Master Divine mentioned all sorts of reasons for not being very active this weekend, and he has not actually finished the rules completely, I rather doubt that we will be starting right away tomorrow. If we do, I have a small problem as my sheet is not quite finished, and requires the missing portions of the rules to become finished. I'm sure Paradox will see me through that though. ;)

Also, that was the fighting game. Her actual 'power' is listed as 'Manipulation of Nuclear Fusion' in the shooting game.

Well, let's see...
First time I tried to go through my realm, when I nuked it myself, I used master-level Psionics, at Gagsta'ii-ish level. That lasted about 10 seconds.

Actually, I included a new clause to try and balance the Returned a little more, or at least offset the advanced amnesia:

(f) Returned Gods that do not get a Tower or the equivalent also has access to a special, unique sub-quest/challenge that ties into their Realm/story. Send your basic ideas for the challenge to the GM, and we'll see what we can do. There will be great rewards for these deadly challenges; the quest is part of the God's own legacy.

(g) Returned Gods will be heavily scrutinized, checked and double checked on anything and everything they try to do, say, or see.

Hmm, are any of the other Returned Gods going to accept the Conclave's invitation to 'discuss urgent matters'? I'm a bit anxious about this myself, considering our very existence might be a grade 'M' offence under their laws, and I'm not intent on taking on the entire Conclave... this soon. ;)

Not for us Returned Gods, we are supposed to suffer from it. I suppose we're not actually supposed to be aware of the Conclave's existence in the first place, even though we do get the shiny stones and invitations.

For the record, as long as Metatron doesn't claim any link - besides name - to his predecessor, Metatron the Right, he'll be fine. He can laugh the whole thing off as a coincedence. They won;'t like him anyway, but it's no offense and the Conclave'll get over it.

Its a good idea when you think about it. If you want to cheat someone sell it, and let it circle around the market for a while... call it back when you really need it. It would take a while before it eventually got back to you. And if its gone through what, 4 or 5 merchents, if any of them are known to be devious they're your cover.

Of course you can always be tyrant and just rent it out.

Hey guys! I finally got my character into the game. MD and I have been PMing stuff, and I helped him work the high god and zealous god subtypes (you high gods out there can thank me for your items).

Then he has is rl holdup, so my rtj got stalled. But all is well now, and MD is back again. Woot!

And Oceanus is nice. In rebirth he has an edge due to some crazy symbiotes and a lust for madness, but he's still one of the nicest "old gods" in that game still. (sad to say)

Ha, adventuring in your realm is going to be extremely interesting, espiecially with my knowledge of Air magic.

At least the new god type wasn't anything I'd want. I like Aramanthing.

Speaking of which... If you Aramanth me now, you have a 66% chance to get something useless, and a 33% chance to get something slightly useless. That is, if we're talking about major powers only.

I tried very hard to help MD create some balanced new additions for his game. The Zealous god is essentially the opposite of the Sane god in terms of their flavour and stuff (but they aren't necessarily enemies or anything). I just thought the realm degree wasn't represented well enough, and that having a god type for it would really round out MD's brain child.

It's not very uber right now. it's like a +1 weapon.

Of course, but how much damage can you deal in one round with it?

The item grows with the high god, and is to help offset the fact they don't get a 6th degree in something.

Basically, the approach MD and I took to the god subtypes is that gods have niches. It's all about niches. They are, in theory, balanced against one another quite well. Here are the niches:

Vicious god: Combat
Sane god: Sorcery
Reborn god: True Immortality/persistence
Returned god: Divinity
High god: Items
Zealous god: Realm

The point is to allow players to have a diverse amount of options to customize their character beyond the 2 free starting degrees. In theory, one benefit is not better than the others. Like a returned god may get divinity 6, but a Sane one can get full understanding of all magics at sorcery 6, and counter the divinity 6 god with sheer versatility. And so on.

So really, the point is to stick to a concept that is fun and enjoyable, not min-max the system.

The evil plan I have is actually slowed down by the fact that I'm a Reborn God. I could just die and do it if I wasn't.

I am grateful for that fact.

I noticed so many returned gods pumping their 2 starting degrees into divinity, lol.

I feel special. I'm the only Neoacadem High God.

Which means I can punch them in the face. Or do something more evil later. MD knows exaaaactly what I'm talking about.

I figured that if my very existence defies two 'M' class laws - making me an instant Mad God even if this is not the case - I might as well prepare for it, so began to come up with 'divine crimes' that make Aramanthing look nice in comparison. So remember, try to make sure Chalybis does not become a Mad God, that's best for everybody...

I'm not in a rush to become a Mad God, but as I said before, the Conclave will probably declare me a Mad God anyway, and I'm not one for the whole 'I must redeem myself' type of thing, so I'm getting prepared for accepting my fate.


And Metatron, how come you can have doubles within one Realm anyway? Is that normal for gods or just for you?
