RP YGGDRASIL: The Shattered City of Alkan
(RP YGGDRASIL is not an RP PUBLIC; it is simply an RP on the World-Tree. As such, you cannot be in a Realm and on Yggdrasil at the same time. You may be in only one RP YGGDRASIL at a time. RP YGGDRASIL is a weird, fantastic, and incredibly dangerous area to adventure in where many of the laws that govern the Realm Supernatural do not apply: those who enter here enter at their own risk.
Yggdrasil, as the World-Tree, is the main gateway that will direct Gods to other worlds; it is also the focus of many attempts at True Ascension. There will almost certainly be RP YGGDRASIL's for The Path of Many Doors, The Gnarled Abyss, and the Courtyard as they are needed.)
There is a rocky, seemingly abandoned outcrop towards the far north reaches of the Courtyard. Those who wish to reach it have to be extremely careful not to step upon the perfect tiles of the Courtyard, lest they be found unfit and blasted to nothing. The outcrop itself looks relatively mundane and innocuous, one of several fields of rocks that support the Courtyard, but as one reaches closer they begin to see the true purpose of this particular area: it hides the shimmering, prismatic, ever beautiful Bridge of Alkan, the Bridge crafted by the finest arch-mages and slave-Merits of the Realm Sorcerous to hold aloft their greatest creation, the City of Alkan..
Behind the lengthy, seemingly incorporeal Bridge lies a black and white, blurred, shifting image of the City of Alkan. It is, at first glance, perhaps cast aside as a hallucination or a fantastic mirage: but the City is quite real, if difficult to reach. Cross the Bridge of Alkan successfully and one comes across the Pavilion, a huge sculpturing - a reimagining of the sacred Courtyard, filled with white marble and exquisite carvings. Further ahead lies Fort Seal, the adequate bastion of Conclave might built by Councilman Lharazed to guard the City of Alkan, shining silver and gold. Fort Seal is effectively more of a blockade than a fort, a great wall spanning the entire length of the Pavilion with certain sub-castles built behind..
But if one can get past the Fort Seal, then they become maddeningly close to real Alkan. They reach the fabled Pleasure Gardens of Alkan, a collection of all the supernatural flora the Alkanites could find or create, claimed to put the respectable Exotic Gardens of the Conclave to shame. There is then the Road of Temples, where the shrines, churches, meditation chambers and temples to the various deities - some created, some actually having an objective existence, some corruptions of the Aspect Gods - are built. The Road of Temples leads to the locked and sealed - using all of the sorcerous might of the Sorcerer-King Lharazed himself as well as several advanced magicians - Gate of Alkan, leading into the City proper.
Within the City itself many wonders exist, including the Museum of Lost Worlds; the Gate Panjura (which is said to lead to every World-Tree in existence); the Temple of the Sacred Floods - through which all magic is filtered, coming from the Springs of Majesty (resting directly beneath Temple of Sacred Floods) and flowing into every world on Yggdrasil; the Kingdom of the Merits, a full zoo enclosure where hundreds of Merits still lie trapped; the Globe of All; and many, many more.
Past Fort Seal everything gets dangerous: powerful fluctuations from the unstable Temple of the Sacred Floods throw super-charged magical currents down through the Road of Temples (where the magic is stored within the shrines and allowed to burn out slowly) can cause a hideous amount of damage against those who would trespass. The magical currents are menacing - some say sentient - and unstable, capable of destroying and creating with a single wind. They are the greatest remaining enemy within Alkan, and the greatest threat.
