Yeah, but even families estrange some members, and some people decide that the drama and arguments at the reunions are reason enough not to go. I'm not going to fault Chaly for not wanting to play with people he doesn't really like anymore, especially since he'd be creating a new character and seriously reinvesting in the game. Sometimes, you just need to take a break. I know I took a pretty long one before randomly finding this game and deciding it was for me.
On a separate note, some people just have trouble finding themselves, or don't want to believe certain things, or it just kind of kicks in later. I have an aunt who is gay, but was married to my uncle for years before she kind of realized it. They had lots of fun and were in love for a time, but as the years went on, she became more and more unhappy, she figured out why, and they divorced. They're back to great friends now, which is wonderful.
