Re: (Max) The Lesser Temple of Xi
Balverstus smiled.
"Oh, I completely understand," he said, showing his teeth once more, "I, too, am an agent of Yggdrasil. I wouldn't dare dream of outing anyone to such a group of people as them. Some of their methods are downright horrific.. but remember, my friends, the walls have ears. Keep whatever treasonous thoughts you have to yourself or in the quieter places of the world."
He fingered his hammer, now, and the two Gods noted it's supreme beauty; inlaid with a sort of flowing metal, crafted - by hand - with the utmost of care, it seemed to have been built out of no less than half a thousand individual parts, all weighted and meshed together in a way to give it supreme durability.
"Anvildramadum," said the Spider, noticing their stares. "Took me fifty years to build, but it's practically indestructible - I faced off against a Machine-Lord who could channel the black energies of the void, and while I was partially obliterated my child was sound. It also contains an electromagnetic series of charges, for when things get really rough, and certain other qualities all of which.."
He trailed off.
"Sorry. I can't help myself sometimes. Yes, I will keep knowledge of your abilities safe, Ruse. I consider you a friend. Just be careful.. there is, I hear, a new Hound in town. God of Order. Nasty fellow, if I hear the stories correctly."
His smile was grim.
"As for the Dhaal.. they are my servants and spies, my hands and eyes. Would you care to meet them?"

QUESTION: 'Who is Belverstus, Spider of Hammers?'
ANSWER: Also known as 'The Machine Hunter', 'The Hammer of Broken Steel' and 'The Fire of Anvildramadum', Belverstus is a young, radical Systemarch with only one registered attainment: Anvildramadum. He used to work as a Spider-Associate for the Conclave, rising all the way to High Lord, but quit over a dispute regarding his Anvil - rich in exotic flowing metals, the Conclave wished to sustain a mining operation there. He quit the Conclave on negative terms, and while not officially an outlaw he is considered a threat and is monitored as such: he also keeps all his teeth, in violation of the Conclave laws, but moves around often enough for it not to matter. Due to some unseen agreement - and friends in the higher ranks of the Conclave - Belverstus has not yet been hunted, and a warrant for his arrest or death does not exist. His hatred for machines is legendary, and he is one of the few practitioners of the Bhaalnovid Systemarch martial art, which relies on momentum and weight-force and, strangely enough, forbids any metal implants to it's practitioners.
QUESTION: 'What are the properties of Systemarch teeth?'
ANSWER: Systemarch fangs are psychic, and known as psychisms by the Conclave. Under Conclave law, a Systemarch can only have a hundred teeth at any given time, though a Systemarch may grow anywhere up to a thousand. The more teeth they have, the stronger their abilities in psychic phenomena - telepathy and the like. This is to assist them in their attainments. Systemarchs with a hundred teeth barely qualify as psychic, while a fully mature toothed Systemarch is a deeply powerful being capable of rivalling - and, in most cases, exceeding - the psychic Divine. Two common uses in Conclave of the teeth include 'coin imprinting', the practice of psychically marking Conclave Stones to avoid counterfeit activities, and 'psychic testing', where an individual's entire mind is laid out for the Systemarch to see, faults and all. Both require the sacrifice of a tooth, known as a hit in Systemarch culture. Systemarch's can sacrifice these teeth for many different effects.
QUESTION: 'What is the grading system of the Systemarch people?'
ANSWER: The Systemarch rates psychic phenomena on a scale of one to fifteen - one to ten, it is assumed, only being attainable by semi-mortal beings - Divines, Systemarchs, etc - while eleven to fifteen are only attainable by cosmic forces and their manifestations, such as Dhelvanians. A grade of eight means an extremely adept psychic in their chosen field.
