Looking over at the boy, Kalem leaned down to pick up his familiar, who had followed him closely (except for when they had done battle). "Could you hold her for me, perhaps? She's been dying for some cuddles, poor thing," he told the child, and held the cat out for him to take, hoping it might cheer him up some.
