Been hiking all day on the worst trail ever, and my legs are killing me.  The hike took hours linger than it should have.

No, the spot/listen/search rolls were the prior round (in which Garath uses his senses to figure out what's going on).  The current round is after the prior round's rolls were resolved.

"Scuffling" - i.e. people/creatures fighting?

Not that it really matters GM kool, but I am working 16 hours a day with 3 of my 6 crew members walking out monday night because they were tired of the crew we relieve.  I am off to bed and when I get up I will try to get up the ambition to post in this forum.

I'm going to be scarce for an indefinite amount of time.  I'm trying to ease up on stuff and get some sleep, to try to improve my mood and stuff.  I'll probably be on for an hour or two every day or two.
