Aboard The Horn, Talisandre 620

You reach the windship, docked at the Green Tower, where Ceramose busily oversees the loading and unloading of cargo.

A few words from Peregrinus and Wraith Zephyr gets the group up to the dock, with the Captain.

In reply to GM (msg #1):

Aalistair looks about, shading his eyes with his hands for a moment. He's clearly a bit ill at ease aboard the ship, trying to find a way to stand without swaying.

Re: Aboard The Horn, Talisandre 620

”Ahoy, Captain! I return!” The Zandir stood, chest out, hands on his hips. Legs turned just so as the light from the suns caught the tip of his pommel and glittered magnificently. Kolarios knew this because he checked. Twice. ”Kind Captain, we come on a Quest of Utmost Importance and, to be quite honest, one in which you are already privy for was it not your kindly intervention that placed me on this path for yon noble Kasmiran’s safety and security. I believe so. And so it is that I return with strange and unforeseen companions, quite strange in some respects. Who would have guessed that I, Kolarios, would have discovered a trail that so surely points in the direction of the foul fiends that beset us in the past. But… I have! And so I am here to request a minor thing, trifle really. Apparently, we are to find some fangs and give them to Golarin. Who is he? I know not and yet, that is not important. All that matters is that I, loyal swordsman of Zanth, do what is needed. Yes-no?”

Re: Aboard The Horn, Talisandre 620

In reply to Kolarios Viramos (msg #3):

Aalistair tried to lean closer to Kolarios in an attempt to whisper a few corrections to him. The bobbing of the ship next to the tower was not only disconcerting, it was distracting. He tried using his staff to prop himself up, but when the metal-tipped butt threatened to gouge the smoothly polished surface of the deck, he jerked it up, over-balances and wobbles once more.

"Hssst," he whispers. "The Fangs of Golarin. It's a place. Surely the Captain knows of it. Some hundred or two miles westwards of here."

Whether it is the sudden silence of the creaking of the ship or the momentary cessation of the wind is anyone's guess, but the whisper carries much farther than it should.

In reply to Kolarios Viramos (msg #3):

Mirna bites back corrections to Kolarios' spiel, but only just barely. She relaxes somewhat when she hears Aalistair's whisper.

"Captain, we need your help quite" Mirna pauses and looks at the blade of her halberd, "desperately, I'm sure you understand."

Re: Aboard The Horn, Talisandre 620

"Well, this is a rather unlooked for pleasure. I gather you lot are looking for a bit of assistance." He casts his eye towards Kolarios, "It is refreshing to see how the Zandir, even under the most dire of circumstances, retain the ability to become rapidly inebriated."

He smiles, nods to Mirna, "I don't believe I've before made your acquaintance? I am Ceramose, captain of this fine vessel. How may I be of assistance?"

In reply to Mirna (msg #7):

Aalistair nods. He shifts and puts his hat back on to shield his eyes from the glare of the suns.

"As this brave woman states, we seek the Hand of Fate. We have a heading that we believe shall lead us to the vessel. And a... ah... a recovery crew that should mean that there will be little danger to you or your possessions. We just need to get to the craft as quickly as possible."

It wasn't entirely a lie, but he'd still ask Aa for forgiveness later. He hoped that he capabilities of this band of adventurers would be able to retake this recalcitrant windship without harm to anyone else. Well, to anyone else who didn't deserve it.

"Do all windships bob about like this," he whispers questioningly to himself.

"Hello, Captain Ceramose,"
says Wraith, taking step towards him. "I can vouch for the worthiness of my companions. I too can vouch for my ability to pilot a windship. Your vessel is in good hands."

He studies the captain's attire and then asks, "Which squadron did you serve with?"

Kolarios smiles as everyone says their piece and then leans in to whisper to the Captain. "Now? Really, Captain, there is too much afoot to become inebriated quite yet. Later, definitely." He leaned back and smiled, winking broadly at the Captain.

"So... these fangs? Golarin's? Can you take us there?"

Re: Aboard The Horn, Talisandre 620

"I see. I may be able to assist. I cannot ask too much from my crew. As Mr. Viramos here can attest to, we have already once had a run in with the Wind of Fate, and it was nearly catastrophic. If not for the quick thinking and heroism of my crew, the Rajans would now have another windship. While I am all for the taking of this windship, and dispatching these wretched thugs, I must, after all, look after the interests of my own 'ship's owners, and above all, make certain that their windship is not taken or destroyed."

He smiles, pauses and looks at you thoughtfully. "Wraith, yes, I have seen your skills, and have full confidence in your piloting skills. But thirty or forty Rajans are another story altogether. As for my service," he smiles again, as if calling up memories, "I served aboard the Windship of War, the Garde of Pharos. We did have some glorious days, my companions and I," he muses.

"In any event, if transportation is all you need, we may be able to come to some arrangement."

In reply to Kolarios Viramos (msg #3):

Jaxar's whiskers begin to droop and his eyes widen as Kolarios' oratory begins to pick up speed. His jaw begins to drop as the faux paus and errors begin to pour unrestrained from the Zandir's lips. As the Certament reaches his grand finale Jaxar has slid back, using Aalistair's frame to shield him from the view of others as he slowly shakes his head covering his face with his hands.

In reply to Captain Ceramose (msg #11):

"I appreciate your concern for your crew," says Wraith. "Should you decide to transport us, I will gladly serve upon your vessel." He strokes his chin for a moment and says, "These Rajans will doubtless prove to be worthy adversaries. I'd feel safer moving forward if we had a Thrall or two to provide ballast."

Re: Aboard The Horn, Talisandre 620

"Indeed, my point exactly. Finding ourselves short by a couple of Thralls, I am curious how indeed you intend to take down a ship full of Rajans. As I say, I sympathize with your cause, and I am sure some arrangement can be made to provide transportation, but short of a squad of Thralls marching in here, I'm not prepared to re-engage that ship in aerial combat."

He considers a bit, then continues, "Assuming we can make an arrangement, my crew needs time to exchange goods and supplies, and some rest after their ordeals. We can be prepared to go tomorrow morning, if you'd like."

"Sometimes one does not need a brace of Thralls, but instead faith in themselves, the rightness of their cause, and the will of Aa."

Aalistair nods solemnly while trying to seem non-concerned about the Jaka crouching and making strange noises behind his back.

Re: Aboard The Horn, Talisandre 620

Kolarios smiles good-naturedly and chuckles. "Thralls... A fine joke, Captain, very fine." He turned to the others. "Did I not say he had a fine sense of humor? I did, truly." He stepped forward and slapped the Captain on the shoulder. "Obviously, the Wind of Fate would run at the very sight of us were it to realize that you and I, together again, hunted her. I doubt they have forgotten the last trouncing we visited upon her foul crew. That is why I think it best that we travel incognito, we could paint your ship a different color, maybe a bright red?"
