"I Have an idea. *Indicating the group on the other side*  We don't have to kill them all, just remove them. If we dive with our poles out front we can sweep them over the rail."

"I am not certain that I am as sure in flight as you may assume, Kar, but I am willing to give it a chance," says Aalistair. He glances over to where the Gryph has indicated and quietly begins a prayer.

"All-powerful Aa, hear the plea of one of your smallest concerns. Grant this meager one a brief moment of the grace and strength once held by Saint Aaronio."
(OoC: Casting Aaronio's Staff; Aalistair rolled 16 using 1d20-2.)

"Keep your weapon straight along your body as long as possible. That will allow you more speed and control in the dive. Then pull your staff as straight across your forward path as you can manage right in front of them, as you pull up. Again, if you feel you should drop it, do so. better to lose your weapon than your arms."

*as he begins to adjust and prepare for final approach, unsheathing the duar.*

Re: The Fangs of Golarin, Round 1, 32 Talisandre, 620 NA

OOC:  Note:  We are starting the counting of rounds.  It is dark, and you all will likely garner more information in the posts than your characters would know in any case, so I won't be providing any kind of map.  Also, I'm terrible a providing maps online.  :-/

OOC:  Your flight allows you to move 220 feet per round at full movement.

No one appears to have noticed your approach just yet.  At 500 feet from the windship, in the dark, individual figures are a bit hard to see.  The main group of you are drawing near the Fangs.  The windship is pointed north, and you are drawing near the port side.  Aalistair, Mirna, and Kar are the same distance as the others, but about fifty feet further south, positioned to pass a few dozen feet south of the end of the windship to circle to the other side.

OOC:  Okay!  Time for actions!  Aalistair has cast a spell; further spellcasting or firing missile weapons will require slowing to half movement (110 ft/round).  You're all still a bit far out, but I started you at 500 feet away in case anyone wanted to take a really long shot.  Probably not advisable, since it's very far and would alert them to your presence.

Aalistair attempts to do as Kar has said, his staff slightly glowing with the holy light of Aa. His white cloak whipping and snapping in the wind.

Focusing on the two individuals at the helm, Wraith steals towards them, hoping to approach close enough without being detected to cast a spell.  He decides to wait until the others swoop down and take advantage of the chaos that their attack with engender.

In reply to Wraith Zephyr (msg #32):

Seeing Wraith focus on the pair at the helm, Jaxar will also move into position to snipe at them. He will position himself apart from Wraith and where the group gathered at the side are not likely to see him. Using any bit of stealth possible and setting himself about 70 feet from his target he will await the attack of his Gryph companion. Should any sentry become aware of their presence Jaxar will attempt to silence him before a warning can be given.

Re: The Fangs of Golarin, Round 1, 32 Talisandre, 620 NA

OOC:  Results, round 1

The main group continues on, pulls another 220 feet closer to the port side of the windship, now just 280 feet away.

Mirna continues straight on, 280 feet west and about 30 feet south of the windship.

Kar climbs higher, falling back slightly.  [OOC:  I'll need to know if Aalistair and J'landria are following Kar, Mirna, or going elsewhere entirely.]

Wraith breaks from the main group, flying slightly to the south (still much closer to the main group), while Jaxar separates from the others slightly as well.

J'landria watches the positioning of the others and moves so she can help cover any blind spots or less covered areas, her bow at the ready and an arrow nocked.

((OOC: Sorry for the silence, spent the weekend remodeling and nowhere near my computer :( )

Mirna agrees with Kar's plan and follows him.

"Kar, why don't you take the middle since you are most sure in the air, Aalistair can take your right and go for any you've missed, I'll take the left."

((OOC again: In case it's not clear, I'm thinking of a chevron formation, Kar in the center to hopefully knock the most off the ship, Aalistair & I to the sides for "cleanup".))

Re: The Fangs of Golarin, Round 2, 32 Talisandre, 620 NA

OOC:  Round 2

Kar and those following him drop behind as they swoop upwards to gain altitude.

The others continue onwards straight towards the windship, closing the gap from 280 feet to a mere 60 feet.

You can see the two figures standing aft, at the helm; amidships, spread from the mainmast to the starboard rail are another half dozen figures; one of them towers over the others, with broad shoulders.

As Kar leads the dive down, one of the two standing at the helm points towards him, and utters an unintelligible cry.

OOC:  No one was close enough to engage in hand to hand combat during round 2, and barring any missile attacks, I'll procede with round 3, at which time you will all be close enough to close and attack if you wish.

OOC:  Round Three

The crew of the windship all look around and begin looking at where the helmsman is pointing and gesturing as he screams.  None seem to notice Kar's dive until it is too late.

After his dive at the Rajani, Aalistair will land on deck, his holy staff held before him.

Re: The Fangs of Golarin, Round 3, 32 Talisandre, 620 NA

OOC:  Round 3 results

Kar rockets down amidships; the giant crewman dodges away behind the mast, pulling out a huge axe; Kar flashes by, and his duar catches one of the crewmen and sweeps him over the far edge of the deck.

Following on either side, Mirna and Aalistair come down; Mirna catches a second crewman on the blade of her halberd and drags him over the side of the windship.  Aalistair comes on the other side squarely at another crewman, who drops to the deck under Aalistair's attack.

Jaxar and J'landria both fire upon the two crewmen standing at the helm; both arrows hit, but the soft clank of metal armor can be heard; the two look around quickly, taking cover and drawing out short bows.

Wraith closes distance as well, beginning to cast a spell.

Athellin, the two Marukans, two Arimites, and Zosha land upon the deck amidships and begin to close upon four crewmen still standing, the arimites flinging knives as they come.

OOC:  Two crewmen swept overboard; the two at the helm are now taking cover, while four remain amidships; those four are one giant, and three other crewmen -- two are somewhat shorter than the third, and appear to defer to the taller one.

OOC:  Round 4, initial actions

The two helmsmen take cover; while they appear to know the general direction the arrows striking them came from, they don't appear to have spotted their assailants.

The giant and the two smaller crewmen move to meet the newest arrivals on the deck, while the taller crewman amidships, shouting in a language none of you understand, sweeps out his scimitar and rushes towards Aalistair.

"I am filled with the light of the great and mighty Aa! His power and strength fill me when I walk in the shadow of my enemies! Flee before his holy might!"
