Round 3

Brought up by the sound of the battle, Rioniv emerges from below and onto the deck.  Quickly scanning his surroundings, he begins a spell.  Before he can complete his incantation, the last crossbowman launches his bolt, catching Rioniv squarely in the chest and dropping him in his tracks.  He lands heavily, thrashing on the deck.

Mirna catches her off balanced opponent with a solid cut, rending his armor and rewarded with a gush of blood.  He attempts to defend himself, but does not even try to attack, while still trying to shake off the effects of Aeletheros' and Wraith's magical attacks.

The second Kang warrior again slashes at Aeletheros just as his spell strikes it in return.  The electric sphere dances over the iron battle armor, eliciting a grunt of pain.  His heavy blade makes solid contact, chopping right through the Phantasian's plate armor.  Aeletheros wheezes, spits blood, but remarkably shakes off the blow and carries on.  Wraith raises a whip of lightning in his hand, smoke and sparks flying from the red-skinned warrior as his grunt raises to a shriek.

The two Kang crossbowmen close on Wraith, showing surprisingly little hesitancy after his lightning lash.  Both slash at him; one drawing blood, the other's blade is turned before reaching flesh.

As the last crossbowman is drawing a pair of daggers, he spins to face Aalistair and Rammid coming up upon the dock from below.

Aalistair charges forward, slamming his spear forward like a spear towards the Kang's chest.

Aalistair rolled 15 using 1d20-4. Attack, Staff vs AL 8. DR 7 after PR.

Rammid launches his attack just a few seconds after the man of Aa does. Seeing Aalistair go high with his attack, the Marukan sweeps his war axe low at the heavier Kang.

Dashing up behind one of the Kang with the crossbows, she spins, using the gravity to help draw her weapon.  Then, the rest of the energy from the spin is put into a slash.

Aeletheros breathes out a spell but his wound affects him more than he thought and the spell fizzles with a slight puff of wind. Not wanting to be totally at the mercy of the vicious Kang he swings his longsword around in an arc, unfortunately he misses and gets it stuck in the mast. He maneuvers to try and keep the mast between him and the Kang as he desperately tries to think of what else to do.

Wraith bares his teeth as his opponent's blade finds purchase.  His short cloak fans outward as he moves to a more advantageous position.  He attempts to cast the spell Wind Wounder, but something goes awry, and the spell dissipates.

Round 4

Mirna and the apparent Kang leader again clash, their blades ringing together.  His heavy falchion catches her blade and pushes it back; he continues in a downward slicing motion, delivering a deep slash to her left thigh.  While the air continues to whip about his head from the effects of Aeletheros' spell, the warrior's fortitude allows him to fight on.

As Aeletheros' next spell fails, his swing with his sword goes awry, and he embeds the blade in the mast as the Kang sweeps his blade at him, landing a solid hit on his shoulder, rending the armor and cleaving the flesh beneath.

Wraith attempts another spell, but he loses control, and the winds, instead of engulfing his enemies, surround him, spin him around, and fling him to the deck. 

The two Kang are about to fall upon Wraith when J'landria rushes them, and they spin to defend themselves; too late, as the one on her right catches her slashing blade across his chest.  They retaliate, slashing at her in turn, each hitting home and drawing blood.  Though one of the daggers strikes deep, the Jaka shakes off the blow with a hiss.

Aalistair, and Rammid, converge upon the lone Kang rear guard, baring his teeth and daggers at them.  Aalistair's blow comes high in the chest, cracking ribs, while Rammid's axe slices low, chopping into the thigh.  The Kang responds with a desperate, angry scream, attacking each of the men with one of his daggers.  His first catches Aalistair on the arm, leaving a nasty  cut; the other rakes across Rammid's armor, throwing sparks but failing to penetrate.

Aalistair grits his teeth in pain, jabbing forward with the iron-shod staff of Aa once more. "Yield," he shouts. "In the name of Aa and all that is holy!" He then brings his staff around in an arc attempting to pound the Kang's side. Both blows land, but neither is truly debilitating.

Mirna grits her teeth at the pain, and swings again, hissing a curse under her breath.

Rammid follows Aalistair's two attacks with one of his own. Again he chops low at the Kangs legs.

23:11, Today: Rammid rolled 10 using 1d20. attack kang.

Stepping back and out of the way, she sees Wraith's sword come singing into combat and she turns to concentrate on the other attacker.

After a few fluid steps, tail aiding her in balance she strikes out with her longsword again, leaning into the lashing, twisting from the wrist and the shoulder.

Tiring of the Kang trying to carve him into tarkus-chow Aeletheros intones another spell in lilting, sussurant tones and leaps over the railing off the windship into open air, arms outstretched as the winds swirl around him. Everyone on board hears a curse and a brief yell that fades away as he disappears out of sight.

Round 5

"You fight well," the Kang snarls at Mirna, bringing his falchion around, "join us!"  Mirna's blade crashes into him, bursting a seam in his armor and drawing another rush of blood.  His counter strike catches Mirna in the side in return; it lacks the power to penetrate her armor, but dents it and drives it against her side.

Aeletheros backs away from the advancing Kang warrior, the words of a spell on his lips, until he breaks and leaps for the side.  The Kang pursues, with a desperate swipe of his falchion.  The blow is solid, but rings off the Phantasian plate as Aeletheros plunges over the side of the windship.

As Wraith surges back to his feet, J'landria dances away, her sword lashing out and clipping the nearest Kang.  Wraith's sword strikes home, delivering a bloody cut to his foe's torso.  The blood sizzles as blue lightning dances along the blade.  Each of the two slash back with their daggers, opening additional wounds on the Jaka and Cymrilian.

Aalistair sweeps his staff around, delivering a flurry of blows on the Kang at the dock, while Rammid's axe clips through the leather armor on the other leg.  The Kang responds with a desperate attack using both daggers; one delivers a shallow cut to Aalistair's shoulder; the other catches on Rammid's mail, and the blade snaps.

Athellin then appears through the hatchway, scimitar in one hand, zodar deck in the other.

Grunting with exertion, Aalistair lunges again, trying to force the Kang back away from the ramp to the Fate. His blow lands solidly in the center of the warrior's chest.
As the Kang staggers back, Aalistair shouts out, "Hold! You warriors of the Crimson Horde! Where does your anger lie?!"



Aalistair rolled 12 using 1d20-4. Attack, Staff vs AL 8. DR 7 after armor.

J'landria's lip curls in a snarl and a deep growl rolls from her throat as she moves again, her feet dancing to the side and back, forcing him to turn.  She tries to shift away from his reach.  Her longsword lashes out in a weaving pattern the sword dipping low, lunging in and then arcing up in a crescent.

Seeing that Aalistair seems to have the kang they were engaged with under control, Rammid chooses to assist J'landria in the struggle against the other Kang. Again he swings low with his war axe with a feral grin spreading across his face.

Round 6

Mirna and the Kang leader still stand toe to toe, exchanging blows.  He brings his falchion around, but is off target as he gasps for breath.  Mirna deftly shifts slightly to one side, letting the heavy blade sweep by, her own crashing into the Kang, throwing sparks as it cleaves the armor and flesh beneath.

Roaring in anger at Aletheros's escape, the second Kang warrior spots Athellin and rushes at him.  The Rahastran tries to bring up his scimitar to block, but the big Kang is too fast.  His heavy falchion bears down on the cartomancer's unprotected neck when Athellin's foot slips in blood on the deck, and he drops down as the blade hums through the empty air above his head.

Aalistair plunges his staff hard into the Kang's chest, driving his already broken ribs into his lungs.  His daggers slip from his hands, and a gush of frothy blood spills between his teeth.  He staggers a step, and drops heavily onto the dock.

Rammid rushes to where J'landria has just slashed the Kang she faces across the chest.  The Kang takes the wound, but steps in close and plunges a dagger into her body.  The blow is fast and deep; the Kang wrenches out the dagger; it is followed by a gush of blood; J'landria's eyes roll up, her legs give out, and she drops to the deck.

Seconds later, Rammid is on the Kang, chopping into its leg with his axe, rewarded with a scream as the blood runs from the wound.

Wraith and the Kang he faces slash at one another; while Wraith's blow lands solidly and the lighting plays from the blade, the Kang's dagger mysteriously rebounds and slides off the Cymrilian's cloak.

Rammid whirls his axe upwards from the slash on the leg and tries to turn the blade once again into the kang but his Murakan luck finally rears it's ugly head. He curses silently as he feels his weapon fail against the armored Kang.

Aalistair curses under his breath as blood flows across the deck of the Fate. "Hold," he shouts again. "You Kang are clearly losing this battle! Cease your fighting!" He shouts as he moves towards the center of the ship.
He lifts his staff of Aa high in the air, the white-lacquered Eye of Aa glinting in the sun. "Obey the servants of Aa! Lay down your arms!"

Failed. Oh, well. At least maybe they'll listen to his words on general principle.

Round 7

Mirna and the Kang leader, still locked together in mortal combat, continue to exchange blows.  Mirna's strike again hammers in the Kang's armor, sweeping under his guard and turning on the armor of his thigh.  He gasps for breath and the delay in his blow allows Mirna to bring up her parrying bracer.  His blow glances off it, sliding off and delivering a shallow slash along her left arm.

Athellin moves over to where J'landria has fallen, holding his zodar cards in one hand, and trying to defend himself with his scimitar in the other.  A golden glow comes from his hand, covering J'landria's ugly dagger wound and restoring her to health as the injury miraculously closes.

The cartomancer stumbles backwards as the Kang's blade flashes towards him, leaving a shallow slash across his chest.  As the Kang drives forward, he hears Aalistair's words, and sneers, "Lay down your own arms, not all must perish!"

Rammid's blow is parried by the Kang he fights.  His opponent drives home his dagger, fast and true, but it is turned by the mail hauberk Rammid wears.

Wraith and his foe also exchange blows; while the Kang's clumsy dagger slice is again strangely turned aside by Wraith's cloak, the Cymrilian has better luck, his crackling blade biting into the red skinned warrior's mid section.
