Aalistair, following orders, works the rigging and watches the sails, occasionally keeping an eye peeled for a tower that resembles the one he's looking for.

Today: Aalistair rolled 12 using 1d20+4. PER.

Ever watchful J'landria paces the deck, helping when called upon, but her eyes are ever drawn to searching.  She sniffs the high and cold winds at times, and sometimes she even closes her eyes letting her ears swivel as they pick up tiny sounds.

As the windship draws near the foothills and plain to the northeast, several towers are seen in the distance which could be considered to match up with Aalistair's description.  The windship will need to slacken speed in order to prevent sailing out past the peaks and over the plain.

"I see someone up there," J'landria states, pointing at a derelict tower.  "Shall I check to see if I can find out more?"

She asks the question, but doesn't actually wait for an answer.

She begins to pray, a murmuring and muttering, full of growls and purrs.

Aalistair, his eyes fixed on one tower, nods in response to J'landria's question. He moves towards the helm.

"Aeletheros, that tower there. The one with the broken crown, part of its roof gone. Can you bring us in near that one?"

[OoC: Hopefully it's the same one J'landria means.]

In reply to Aalistair (msg #497):

Wraith stands by the helm and says, "If I may be of assistance, let me know."   He directs the crew, anticipating what Aeletheros will require to fulfill Aalistair's request.

Aalistair and J'landria find they are regarding the same tower, perhaps a mile away yet.  Under Wraith's and Aeletheros' direction, the crew moves to reduce sail and slow the 'ship.

J'landria settles and works her magic; as she does so, a small grey avir flutters up over the rail of the windship, and alights upon the palm of her hand.

Her eyes open and she looks at the little thing nestled gently.  She smiles at it and closes her eyes, pressing it's tiny head into her forehead for a moment before it takes wing.

J'landria's eyes remain closed and she settles back.  Her nose begins sniffing and her ears shift as if listening, but she doesn't say anything yet.

Aalistair works with the crew to get sails stowed and to prepare for descent. All the while he maintains a faint chant beseeching Aa for help and assistance in surviving.

The little grey avir leaps into the air, fluttering along, approaching the derelict tower in a long, curving arc.  In the growing dusk, it is soon lost to sight to all but the sharpest eyes.

Wraith paces the deck, arms folded across his chest.  The cold wind tugs his cloak and lightening-hued hair as watches the crew.   At one point, he unsheathes his sword and drags his finger across a blade that is notched and scarred from glancing off the blood-soaked armor of the Kang.  He slides the weapon back into its antique sheath and drapes a long-finger hand across its pommel.

Hearing  J'landria's hiss, Wraith approaches her and says, "What is it?"  He pulls the broad collar of his cloak about his neck to protect it from the wind.

Aeletheros keeps his attention focused on the controls, working both to slow the ship and to start its descent once that is required. Noting J'landria's agitation he wonders what dire information her spell uncovered.

"The voices in the tower sounded different, I could not understand them.  Then, looking at the figured huddled on the broken tower there, he is a Rajan.  I can not tell how closely he is watching things, but I assume he is a guard or scout."

Her eyes remain closed, but she feels Mirna's warmth and hears the sounds of the bow.

"I do not think we are close enough," she tells the warrior.

Aalistair fights with the ropes as the wind whips about. He hears the word Rajan but knows that he is too far away to do much about it. "What's our best course," he shouts. "Given the wind and terrain?"

She keeps her eyes shut, but her head moves as if she's looking around.

"I was thinking the same thing," says Wraith, shielding his eyes.  "We may need to be directly above them, or, possibly, below.  We're in a  pretty tight spot, to be honest."  Wraith priers at the tower and wraps one hand around some stray rigging.  "If they have any sort of artillery, or, dare I say it,  anyone capable of wielding spells, and we're in serious predicament."

Aeletheros eyes the nearing towers, still working to slow the windship. Thinking briefly he calls out to the others; "Well, if we can sail above the tower, say about 200 feet, I can use an incantation that will allow those of light-ish weight to fly for about 200 feet."
