Re: Wind of Fate, Crew Quarters/Main Deck 46 Zar, 620 NA

Aeletheros looks over at Athellin, a question in his eyes; "Yes, we heard the wind as well. What did it have to say to you? As to your question I will spell you on guard duty if you wish, I just need a little time to put on my armor."

The Rahastran's eyes drop, his face looks haggard.  "It told me I would find my brother's bleached bones at the foot of Dagger Ridge."  He shrugs, looking at Wraith and nodding, "I do not know that there is anything to these voices in the wind, but they are taxing nonetheless."

Aeletheros listens to Athellin's words while he starts buckling on his armor. Once that is done he straps on his sword and grabs his longbow. He looks at Athellin again once he is ready; "So, strange whispering winds aside, what else should I be aware of up above? I am ready to take my turn above to watch the surrounding skies."

"Aside from the winds, there was little other activity out there," Athellin responds.  "I imagine the winds drive most natural creatures to ground."

"Sow dissent? I don't think so. I think it's playing on our fears, trying to weaken us." Mirna's voice trails off in thought, "But to what purpose?"

With a hard day's work completed, the crew gather for an evening meal in the galley.  As you all prepare to dine, Zosha asks, "Do we have a destination planned?  I understand that repairs will be complete tomorrow.  Will we follow Serpent Pass and follow the lead we have?"

"I don't see why not." Mirna shrugged, a bloodthirsty grin giving lie to the casualness of her tone, "Unless, of course, we want to do something about the Kang recruiters outside of town along the way."

"That sounds like a rational plan," says Wraith, between mouthfuls.  "I would prefer to avoid the Kang, if possible.  Providence was on our side, I think."

The usually quiet Rioniv speaks up, "I am not sure I would like to pick a fight we might easily avoid with these Kang.  I am more eager that we assist our friend J'landria, after so long we are at least hot on the trail of this youngling."

The little Kasmiran looks around at the others and nods.  "Very well, then; if we are all agreed, we will finish repairs in the morning, and set sail following Serpent Pass."

After a few moments, Wraith says, "I would be remiss if I failed to admit that I'm perplexed by recent events.  Why did those Kang try to steal our ship?  Kang are warriors nonpareil, but pilots?  Something isn't adding up."  The airman shrugs his shoulders.   "I know that we have more urgent business, but I would like to know what use those brutes have for a windship."

Aalistair nods.

"The child should be our priority. It is why we came this direction." He rubs at his jaw in thought. "Though if we can find out more about these Kang or the Rajans we left behind, it would likely go a ways towards the safety of the Wilderlands in general."

Re: Wind of Fate, Crew Quarters/Main Deck 48-49 Zar, 620 NA

With the meal ended, and the suns set, a weary crew finds they ways to their bunks and cabins.  Sleep comes quickly for those still sore from just healed wounds and hard work repairing and resupplying the Fate.  Mirna arranges a watch, much of it taken by Jaxar with his sharp night-eyes, though it passes uneventfully.

Morning comes cold, though a warm breakfast from the galley breaks the chill and warms the mess hall.

The diminutive Kasmiran is early to the mess hall, joined by Rioniv shortly from the kitchens.

Aalistair stumbles into the common area, rubbing his head. He smacks his lips as if they are dry. "I. I need bowl of water. Clear water. Clean water. For ablutions. And to shave. And then I need to pray." He seems a bit out of sorts, staring off at nothing, not addressing anyone in particular. He sinks down into one of the seats at the table, hands spread out on the flat surface in front of him.

In reply to Aalistair (msg #144):

"Fortunately, water is easy to come by, here anyway." After a moment, she continues, "So, do we pursue the Kang and risk losing our lead on the cub, or do we try to find the cub and give up our chance on the Kang? I can't help but feel there is more at stake here than just one cub and one windship..."

J'landria looks at Aalistair with some concern, gingerly placing her hand on his back for the barest of moments as if she was asking if he was doing alright. Her hand retreats quickly, though her attention remains on him.

At Mirna's question she says nothing in reply, although her body language seems to show defeat and despair to some minor degree.

Rioniv returns to the table during the conversations, carrying a bowl of water and a soft towel.  "Hey you are, my friend," he says softly, placing them before Aalistair.  With a look of quiet concern on his face, he asks, "Did you not sleep well?"

While partaking of a meager breakfast Aeletheros listens to the renewed conversation about the group's next destination. Looking over at J'landria then Wraith he nods his head; "I am in agreement with you Wraith, the cub should be the first priority as that was our goal when we set out. Of course I am curious about the machinations of the Kang, especially as they were so willing to attack openly instead of hiring us. Perhaps they desire windship technology to remain on par with the Rajan, now that those bastards have obtained it."
