In reply to Rammid (msg #258):

Nodding approvingly at the Marukan he replies, "I agree with your observations Rammid, you have a good grasp of things. I will discuss this with Mirna and Zosha and see how they feel about it. In the short term, I have a handful of lumens and might be willing to hire them on myself, at least temporarily. You seem to have a good measure of them, are they willing to help recapture the ship or just crew her if we manage to take it back ourselves?"

Re: Deadwood, 37 Talisandre 620 N.A.

After all the activity, it is hard to believe only a few days have passed since last being in Deadwood.  But it is a different thing to straggle in from the Plains on foot, and to arrive sailing over the town in a windship!

Just outside the Green Tower, the Blue Hand Smithy sits on the left, and a rather fancy Inn to the right.  Some ways further down the road, the bulk of the Grey Tower dominates the scenery.

"After we wash the thirst from our throats, I should check in at the Hand," Aalistair points towards the squat white building at the far end of town. "But, that can wait briefly. Do any of you have any idea what our next step may be?"

Her eyes follow Aalistair's hand as he points to the Hand, then she looks back at him.  When he asks she shrugs and looks down at Zosha beside her.

In reply to Aalistair (msg #262):

"Next step? Finding the missing Jaka cub, perhaps, unless Zosha has something else for us. Of course, we've no leads on the cub, so-" Mirna shrugs.

Zosha looks up, somewhat startled.  "I was thinking perhaps Cymril, to get the repairs Mr. Zephyr recommends.  And perhaps to get a crew at least basic competence in airmanship."

Aeletheros looks over at Wraith with a grin; "I rather like motley crews, I have a feeling I could be at home there. We shall see what comes to pass. For now, lead on to that drink!"

"That's it just ahead," says Wraith.  When they reach The Grey Tower, Wraith motions for the tall Phantasian to enter and follows suit.

Ducking his head slightly out of habit Aeletheros enters the tavern, glancing around at the surroundings. He looks back at Wraith with a question evident on his face; "As we were leaving I noticed you have a few Marukans on your ship. Knowing what little I know about them that must be an interesting tale to tell."

As the pair drops anchor at a vacant table, Wraith says, "Indeed.  The Marukans are hard-working, amiable folk.  We had to train them as best we could to function as a crew.  They definitely rose to the occasion."

Aeletheros thinks for a minute before asking; "So, will you tell me of yourself and your crewmates? How did you all get together and arrive on that windship?"

In reply to Aeletheros (msg #270):

Wraith motions to one of the servers and then rests his elbows on the stained table.  "It's a long, convoluted story.  Where to begin?  My good friend, the profligate Sindarin Nas Nasri organized a little junket for me.  You see, I decided to leave Cymril for an indefinite amount of time to avoid some . . . unfortunate entanglements.  My colleague suggested that I venture East.  Our travels took us to Deadwood, and it was here that I met the Kasmiran woman Zosha.  Zosha hired me to pilot a vessel bound for the Fangs of Golarin, the last known-destination of her ship, a worthy vessel know as The Wind of Fate."  Wraith pauses for a moment and then says, "The Fate, you seen, was hijacked by a band of Rajan ghouls.  I won't bore you with all the particulars.  Suffice it to say, we managed to rescue the ship after a fierce battle involving savage beast-men, foul, necromantic magic, demons, and, if I may, some top-notch piloting by this esteemed gentleman."

Zosha heads directly to the bar, speaking to a man with the lime green skin of a Pharesian.

The tavern is busy with many patrons, most of them eating and drinking.  The bulk of the patrons are Arimites and Marukans, but there are also a few Pharesians and Cymrilians, and even a few more exotic folk.

"A bit of land that doesn't move beneath one's feet. A bit of horizon without a beastman or Rajan to be seen," interjects Aalistair. He lifts a cup in salute when the airmen look his way.

In reply to Aeletheros (msg #272):

"We're here to procure supplies before we head off to Cymril," says Wraith.  "If I'm not mistaken, the plan is to finish repairing our vessel there, and do one of two things: help the Jaka in our midst locate a missing cub and return Djaffir named Abn Quam back to his people."  Wraith pauses and says, "Where have your travels taken you, friend?"

Re: Deadwood, 37 Talisandre 620 N.A.

The Kasmiran returns from the bar and her conversation with the Pharesian man behind it, and looks around the table.

"Unless others have objections, I'd like to get what we left behind here and move on in the morning.  It is only a few things."  She nods towards Mirna, "What you gathered from the ruins, and the last of Katas' belongings, I had kept in safekeeping by the innkeeper here.  Also, all of our mounts were left behind here."

She looks to Wraith and Aeletheros, "You have found a new friend, Mr. Zephyr?"

She goes on, "Now that the Wind of Fate has been recovered, many of the questions are no longer quite so academic.  To put it simply, there is a consortium of sorts which comprises the ownership of said windship.  The windship was originally salvaged by five individuals, drifting over the Wilderlands.  Well, six perhaps, but that is in the details," she waves her hand and mutters this last.

"Anyway," she continues, "those who have assisted in the recovery of the windship have all earned a bunk and board with us.  We should formalize further details."  She looks at J'landria, "I think for your part, there is agreement that we should assist you in your noble rescue attempts."

"So, you lot will be here til the morrow, then," Aalistair says. He nods, not really waiting for an answer. "I must consult with the Hand, but if there is room, I just may accompany you." He rises from his seat and reaches for his pack. "I shall seek you here, either later tonight or at sunsrise to see what has been decided, but for my part, I too am curious as to the missing child. And how it may tie together with the Rajani and the Beastmen."

Aeletheros chuckles as he thinks of the best way to describe his travels; "I think the best description would be a whirlwind tour of the trade cities of Talislanta. We were fortunate enough to avoid any major issues but at the same time site-seeing gets old after a while. All I know I am not ready to return to Phantas, there is much more I wish to see and experience."

Wraith says, "I'd like to introduce the lot of you to Aeletheros, an adventurer like ourselves who is eager to see the world and, fortuitously, is in search of a ship on which to ply his trade."  Wraith directs his keen eyes to Zosha and says, "Given the fact that we are in need of a crew, I strongly suggest that you hire this young, capable Phantasian before someone else snatches him up and puts him to good use."

She gives the phantasian an appraising look.  She shrugs and nods.
"I don't know what I'm doing, so if he does it's better than anything I could give," she looks back at her cup and lifts it and takes a careful drink.
Her speech seems to be improving from being around the crew.

"Indeed, I believe we could use another good hand aboard our fine 'ship," Zosha responds to Wraith.  She looks to the tall Phantasian, "we can offer a bunk, board, and excitement the likes of wrenching a stolen windship from the grasp of Rajan pirates.  What say you?"
