J'landria looks at Kar and nods, stepping away from the Zandir again before moving back to where her pack sits.  She lifts it to the chair and roots around in it for a moment before pulling out a small pouch.  She rearranges the pack and closes it back and places it on the floor, then ties the small pouch around her neck and tucks it under her shirt.

Callianos approaches the group upon their return to the Grey Tower, having considered his path and run his fingers over the Fortuna in his Quatrillion deck for some time while they had left.

"So a quest for a windship. I've not much to offer in ways of crewing the thing, but I can put my hand in to cook, and pass the time with tales. Perhaps even compose one or two, with this odd but entertaining group. Allow me to entreat my enjoining in this venture."

The Kasmiran appraises the Sarista man briefly.  "I don't suppose you might be light of foot and hand as some of your kind?  Of course, it is a majority decision here, but I think you could be a valuable addition to our little group here."

In reply to Zosha Davij Inan (msg #161):

Wraith strides through door, emboldened by his meeting with the captain of The Horn.  He appraises the group assembled and approaches.  "Well, it appears as though we have conveyance."  He peers at a vacant seat and says to the group, "May I sit?"

J'landria takes her pack off of the chair she was sitting in and moves it to the wall, and leans against the wall, watching the people filing back into the small building.  She gestures to the now empty seat after Wraith's question.

Aalistair heads over to the bar. Once there, he takes his hat off and sits it on the wide expanse of wood and gestures towards the barkeep.

"Balerimos. I'll be needing something a tad stronger than water this time around. This motley bunch are heading off in search of a thrice-stolen windship, a crew of Rajani, and likely a horde of Beastmen. Oh, and possibly a run-away Jaka cub."

He pulls out some tarnished Aamanian coppers and scatters them on the bar. Slowly he shifts them around with a finger-tip, making the pattern of an eye.

"Might as well just give you all of this. Once we leave town, I don't know when I'll be back."

Re: Deadwood, 31 Talisandre 620 N.A.

J'landria's ears flatten when 'run-away' is said but quickly she relaxes and shakes her head some.

"Aalistair, he was no cub... but a youngling that was almost full grown, only a few years younger than myself.  Also, he did not run away.  Where he was last known to be, there were... signs of a fight and one body was pulled away.  One body that was his size," her deep voice was quiet, but clear.  A low rumble echoes in her throat for a brief moment before she continues.  "It may seem like trivial information... to you, but for at least this most recent disappearance I can be almost perfectly certain that it was not youthful antics... or wanderlust."

Her green eyes watch him as she speaks, one ear cocked toward the table and their inhabitants, the other focused on Aalistair.  Her tail twitches once before it stills.

The barkeep sweeps up the coins, and asks, "What'll it be then?  Grog?  Wine?  Erd's milk?  You lot really going after a missing windship?"

To J'landria

"Beggin' yer pardon, ma'am."

He turns back to Balerimos.

"Not a cub, a youngling." He shrugs and watches some of the others consume chakos and wine and grog. With a sigh, "Better be erd's milk, I suppose. And yes, apparently we're going after some windship. I confess I'm a bit muddled as to the time-line particulars, but in essence, the vessel is stolen and we aim to recover it. Hopefully, find out a bit about the various Beastmen attacks of late as well."

In reply to Aalistair (msg #167):

"Wine, please," says Wraith, draping his cloak across the back of his chair.  "What sort of beastmen attacks have occurred?"  His brows furrow as awaits an answer.  "I don't like the sound of that," he says to himself, twisting a silver ring on his left hand.

"Beastmen, yes. A band of them, many scores strong. They attacked a band of Aamanian pilgrims on the way back from Watchstone; just north of here. Maybe... a days ride, two days march."

He shakes his head.

"Horrible way to die. Of course, there aren't many good ones."

Nas Nasri nods, looking at Wraith.  "Indeed, I believe our transportation can be arranged to the satisfaction of all."  He nods to the Kasmiran, "I suspect you may need to sit down with the captain and make the final arrangements."

He looks around at all gathered, "Whoever is going, needs to be ready by daybreak tomorrow morning."  He then turns to the bartender, orders a skoryx, and sits to enjoy his drink.

Re: Deadwood, 31 Talisandre 620 N.A.

"Perhaps we all should meet here again, at dawn's first light?  I shall remain here, excepting some brief absences, and we can consider any additions to our crew."  She consults a list briefly.  "Currently, we have Mirna, Jaxar, Athellin, Rammid, Rioniv, Wraith, Kolarios, Aalistair, J'landria,..." she looks up at Kar, "I'm not certain you have stated your intentions?  You would be a welcome addition to the crew."  And looking back around at Callianos, "Callianos, I believe?  While that is a goodly number, it is still slight for a fully crewed windship, and I believe that overall, most of you have limited experience in flying a windship?  So, I suggest each of you do your best to get any affairs in order, perhaps see if you can recruit any additional hands to fight the Rajans, if necessary, and crew the 'ship once we have retaken it."

She turns to Mirna and Jaxar, "If possible, I would like to meet with the two of you privately, sometime today?"

It is approaching midday, and some of the locals are entering the tavern for a drink or a light meal.

[OOC:  It is nearly noon at this time.  Anyone who wishes to conduct any business or do any exploring of the town is welcome to do so at this point.  We can set up separate threads, if need be.]

"Oh, and I might be around town as well, checking up on people. Maybe picking up a new blanket or three."

In reply to Kar (msg #179):

"Kar, you supplied much-needed assistance to us back in ruins and have been a trustworthy companion since then. You would receive no objection from me."

Looking down at the small Kasmirin woman he gives a slight nod, stating "Zosha, I am at your service whenever you would like to meet. Also, I was relieved to hear Zarkosh survived his ordeal and is recovering from his illness." He momentarily develops a far-away look, one ear twitching absently, before he refocuses on Zarkosh's sister, "This sudden illness that overcame your brother, was it natural in origin or might it have had a more sinister origin? I ask because he seemed of excellent health when we disembarked from the Fate. It seems odd that an illness that severe would overwhelm him so quickly."

"Oh yes, Kar is most welcome to continue with us.  From what you tell, he has a great deal to offer in this endeavor.  My brother, he fell ill sometime after you left Zanth, and just before reaching Osmar, so he remained on board the windship with Arkannon and the rest of the crew when you debarked to explore.  We never really investigated the cause of his illness, only did our best to cure him.  Arkannon was fired up to retake the windship, and left immediately to try to find it.  I do not know his current whereabouts."  She looks somewhat downcast, "Two of your crew, as far as we know, were still aboard the windship when it disappeared.  We took in Dorson to care for his broken leg until it heals."
