"I am a musician, Sir, and well versed in my people' lore. Although most would find your statement to be a bit of an insult, I will choose not to take it as such so that our acquaintance might be made in a more jovial manner. My name is Callianos of Silvanus. And you are?"

*Kar perks up at Callianos' remark*

"Vocal, or instrumental?"

In reply to Callianos (msg #183):

"As I mentioned earlier, whilst you were charming our Danuvian companion, I am Zosha Davij Inan, owner, in part, of the windship Wind of Fate.  Although, I must admit, I am not accustomed to being called sir; that honorific is more commonly used with my brother, or my father," she responds, just a hint of sarcasm and amusement in her voice.

Wraith decides to do the responsible thing and secure lodging at the Gray Tower and turn in early.  He exits the tavern, smiling warmly to his new companions, and heads towards the Gray Tower.

Re: Deadwood, 31 Talisandre 620 N.A.

It being only noon, Wraith is able to secure lodging at the inn, finding he is perhaps just a bit tired from his late night piloting the windship coming into town, and is able to get something of a nap, if he wishes.  Overall, he does find midday a bit early to turn in for the night however.  ;-)

Zosha pays, grudgingly, for some small, spartan, yet secure rooms, one of which is for Wraith and Kolarios to double bunk in.  Should either desire a private room or better accommodations, that will need to be arranged on their own.

Is Mirna looking for supplies on her own, or is anyone going with her?

"Thank you.  I will do my best, but I am... Not experienced with what you are going to... do.  It will be interesting," she says with a toothy smile and her ears are pointed forward and eager.  "Please, tell me what you need of me."

She stands up straight and puts her pack back on her shoulders and walks over to Mirna.

"Well, Zosha has generously secured lodgings for us, so let's go check on the Equus and go shopping. I shouldn't need much."

((OOC: Does the lodging include our mounts? As far as supplies go, Mirna needs arrows - a few score, at least. Probably not a bad idea to find an armorer and make sure her gear is in good condition.))

"I think that I could use more... arrows, and maybe some herbs for a poultice.  That way we can have a... resource to help if any of us gets... injured," she says with a small growl as she walks with them.

The town's one main road has building ling both sides.  Just a bit north of the Grey Tower Tavern and Inn you find a well appointed shop that looks neater and better kept than most, by the name of the Chained Star.

Some few Arimites browse about the shop, looking at mining equipment; some sad, poor looking Marukans also browse; one or two Cymrilians are in the shop, and a trio of tall, mottled Jhangarans.  A Pharesian and an Aamanian can be seen conversing near the shop's counter.

As it turns out, Zosha had only secured lodging only for herself, Nas Nasri, Kolarios, and Wraith.  Upon learning the others needed lodging, she will likewise splurge for spartan, shared quarters for any others who have committed themselves to the cause of retrieving the Wind of Fate.  Mounts will be stabled for the duration of your stay, beyond that, additional arrangements are necessary.  The Horn will not have space aboard for mounts, as the hold is largely filled.

Callianos laughs heartily.

"I'd like to think that I am skilled at both, but in truth my vocal talents need much work. Back in the camp, I focused so upon carefully honing my lutara's voice that I let others take the reigns in that area. I learned much at the hands of a passing Bodorian, who awakened a love of strings within me."

Callianos offers Kar a smile, and looks to Mirna.

"Mind if I join you?"

To Kar, "Perhaps we have much to talk about. Tell me of the songs your people sing. I'm sure they must be most interesting."

*as all begin preparing to leave the inn*

"Actually, I am not well versed in the songs of my people. I know some of the popular songs of the hunt, and a few morning calls to the suns and moons. I have learned much from my other avir visitors, but much of their songs are wrapped in gossip, and...colored by particular perceptions."

Repost from earlier:

Athellin, Rioniv, and Rammid have also come to the Chained Star.  Rioniv and Rammid strike up conversations with their fellow Marukans.

Is Wraith Zephyr looking for better accommodations at the Grey Tower, or is he looking to stay in a nicer establishment altogether?

Mirna, J'landria, Kar, Callianos are all at the Chained Star looking for supplies.

J'landria smiles at the interaction between her new friend and the Sarista and when they get to the shop she glances in a few separate pouches before nodding and beginning to look at the items.

She stops to look at the arrows and eyes their price.  She looks at some of the locals and for a moment she looks anxious, but she steps toward them.  Patiently she waits for someone to see if she needs something and when acknowledged she speaks quietly.

"Is there a place... around here that I can harvest some fresh herbs... and berries," she asks, a quiet growl rolling through her speech.

While they have arrows, and bows, nothing in the shop has a price displayed on it.  While the group looks, the Aamanian strolls over, "Might I help you find anything?"

In response to J'landria's question, he offers, "There are perhaps some that grow on the hills about town, although I would imagine pickings are scarce.  You might try your luck, or I could recommend a couple possible local guides?

Wraith slides the requisite lumens across the counter, procuring for himself the finest room available.  He lays the odd, storm-hued sword across the bed and inspects the intricate scabbard.  A long crack branches down the length of sheath, damaging the feint, intricate tracery that covers it.

He decides to head out into Deadwood, hoping to locate a smith who can repair the scabbard.

In reply to Jaxar (msg #205):

In the Chained Star:

Jaxar finds the arrows, and other goods he sees at hand, to be of good quality.  No one has asked a price, but here on the edge of the treeless plains and the barrens, one would expect the prices to be somewhat higher.

The Aamanian responds to J'landria, "I am no herbal guide, myself, but there are several green Aeriad in town who are quite familiar with the local vegetation.  I'll see if any of the lads has seen any of them about, if you'd like."

Meanwhile, Wraith recalls having seen a smith's shop just outside the Green Tower as they landed in the morning.  Upon returning, he finds the smith himself, an older Zandir, at work in the Blue Hand Smithy.
