MachineSmith's Homepage

The homepage opens to what appears to be a brick wall with a decorative oak door. There is a doorbell, a door, and a window. The window shows fluttering curtains.

The door and doorbell link to the next page, which appears to be a living room. The perspective of this room (and all the others) is of someone standing against one wall and looking out at a roughly rectangular room. There are graphics for several modern-lookking sofas and chairs made out of walnut with thick, soft-looking khaki cushions and red accent pillows. The coffee tables and shelves in the room are also designed in the same walnut color, and there are graphics of books on the shelves which pop up to adobe acrobat book files. One shelf has a fancy-looking stereo that streams any of several mp3 files (that Iris got off of MachineSmith's computer) or stream radio stations. There are also several rather exotic looking houseplants in this room - which can be watered by clicking on them. A large picture window sits behind the sofa and displays a randomized real-time camera picture from somewhere in Weston City. On the other wall is a very large TV-screen graphic which is programmed to stream you-tube The floor is hardwood, but covered by a dark red rug that complements the furniture. There is a walnut grandfather clock in the corner that tells the time.

The room has two doors - the fancy door that leads back to the first page which is next to the window, and a second wooden door on the third wall. This door leads into what appears to be a hallway. The hallway has six doors in it. It is lined with pictures of heroes that MachineSmith has worked with now and in the past - complements of Iris' Heroes & Villains Pokedex.

The first door to the left is the wooden door that goes to the living room. The first door to the right, however, leads into a kitchen. The kitchen has been created using 1950s style diners as inspiration. The table is booth-style and has black-and-white checkered chairs with red backs. The table itself is checkered with a red border and is a restaurant-style table. There's a tiny juke-box on the table that can stream radio stations. The countertops are also checkered and bordered in red. The cabinets and appiances are silver. The wall boasts a big red analog clock which actually tells the time. The cabinets can be opened and show dishes, silverware, and spices, and the like. The refrigerator is stocked with digital food. The walls are decorated in typical diner decor - black music notes, pictures of girls in poodle skirts standing next to motorcycles in checkered frames, that kind of thing. The window above the sink streams videos of the sort of thing you'd expect to see out of a kitchen window.

The second door on the right is the bathroom. The bathroom is a study in graphic surealism. The room is not square, but very angular in odd ways. The sink is square on one side and droopy circular on the other. The bathtub is oversized and wraps around itself so that the curtain is actually hanging from the opposite lip of the tub. The angles in the room are all wrong and the mirror is a trapezoid instead of a square. In short, it's a bathroom that looks like M.C. Escher designed it.

The second door on the left leads to a study. One wall is covered completely in more books (which, of course, link to popup pdfs). One wall has a big, sturdy-looking desk against it with a felt top. A very fancy computer is on top of the desk, and the computer links to google or pop-cap games. The drawers function as file-storage. On the wall next to the computer is a calendar which is on the right month and year. Also in this room is a big half-dry erase, half-cork board. Clicking on it allows one to leave messages.

The third door on the left leads to a bedroom. The bedroom is done in black, white, and brown carpeting. The carpet in the middle of the room looks like a grand piano and the carpet closest to the wall the perspective is from is striped like a piano keyboard. Clicking these carpet-keys will play the room like a piano. The bed has black and white piano-key blankets and pillows. The dresser and end table are painted black. A radio alarm clock is on the bedside table and the window streams the night sky.

The door at the end of the hall leads to a garden. The plants in the garden are very exotic - some actually exist, but some Iris made up. The weather here is randomized within certain perameters to more-or-less simulate real-time weather. What this means is that it is more likely to be snowing in December than it is in June on the webpage.

There's also the beginning of coding for an avatar for the house.

Re: Machinesmith's Home...page.

MachineSmith was in the living room looking like his original healthy self though he did look like he just stepped out of Tron. He lounged on the couch watching various youtube videos.
