Re: Katy's Apartment

Located in an apartment complex not far away from the Weston Police Department, Katy's residence reflects her lifestyle. A simple 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment seems to suit the Mistress of the Mind perfectly.

The living room is 'fashionably untidy,' with various baubles, gadgets, and not to mention paperwork strewn in lightly sorted piles wherever there was a free surface. A small TV and it's stand sit opposite a coffee table and couch, with a desk and work-computer in the corner. Two curtained doors open up onto a balcony, giving a pleasant view of the street below.

Besides the living room, the rest of her house is remarkably clean. A kitchen with a small island is stocked and ready for all manner of midnight snacks, while her bedroom is....well, a lot more ladylike than anyone would think. Pictures arranged with almost obsessive neatness around the room, not to mention various stuffed animals arrayed everywhere, give the room a girlish feel.

Re: Katy's Apartment

<--From the streets

Appearing in a fuchsia haze of smoke on the Balcony, Katy opened the door and walked in. Fetching herself a glass of juice from her fridge, she sat down on the couch, the television turning on of it's own accord. She closed her eyes, anticipating the 'time-lost' individual who wanted to meet with her. Vaan Tanaka. What had happened in the future, or a possible one? Katy didn't feel like thinking too hard about Temporal paradoxes, so instead switched her train of thought.

Taking a sip from the glass and setting it on the table, Katy relaxed in the comfort of the cushions. Nokomis was a new member of the Legacy? Katy remembered back when she first joined up. Newly promoted with her own task squad, a good psychometric ability, and the potential for so much more. Then she met Friday, Mirage, even Dragon Fist. They didn't have a clue. Or at least, she thought they didn't, when she discerned who they were, rather easily. After confronting them, well...the rest was history.

Katy wasn't sure how Nokomis had managed to put herself in Helena and Dragon Fist's good graces, but it would be nice to have a new face. Maybe help sooth the memories of the old.

Megaira landed them in front of the building, and led Vaan inside so they could knock on Katy's door.

Re: Katy's Apartment

Katy was dozing, the nightly news going over political riffraff, when she was awakened by the sound of knocking. Eyes drearily opening, the door opened of it's own accord. "Enter," Katy said, rearranging herself so she wasn't unceremoniously draped across the couch.

Re: Katy's Apartment

Vaan walked in, unsure of what to think. Everything had gone so fast, she hadn't quite taken into account what the real thing would be like. She stared at Lady Psyche, taking in her appearance. She looked so similar to Vaan herself. Well, maybe with Asian blood and a different hair color, and possibly a penchant for thrills.

"I'm. . .Vaan Tanaka, Lady Psyche. I'm from the future. And...well, you're my mother," She said, trying to keep her voice from quavering too much.

Re: Katy's Apartment

Katy's face was a mask. Outwardly, she was smiling, offering both of them seats as glasses floated out of the cupboard, filling up with water and setting down near them, but inwardly, she felt like she had just been hit with a ton of bricks. How it would happen, temporal paradoxes that had been explained over and over to her, etc. etc. The very fact that her last name was Tanaka said a lot. Not that she wasn't opposed to such a future...but this was a bit much, even for Weston's Mistress of the Mind.

"You'll have to forgive me,"
Katy said, directing her words at both of them, "But please, start from the beginning. Tell me everything."

Megaira nodded, and said courteously "Of course.  No apologies needed, Lady Psyche."

Megaira's head came up, and she said "Katy, please excuse me, one of my team mates has need of my special gifts.  Please accept my apologies for running out, but I do not want him to needlessly suffer.  Vaan, my apologies as well, I am sorry.  But I must take care of my team mates, I am sure you understand."

Re: Katy's Apartment

Vaan nodded, and began the story of her life, starting with what she could remember. Her being born, her earliest memories of her mother and father. The disappearances of both, and her subsequent adoption into Mastermind's care. She talked about how she had eventually joined the resistance against the Emperor, Excelsior, striking and gathering followers wherever she could. She described how, during the final assault, she'd gotten into a fight with a psionically powered member of the Emperor's private guard, and found herself in this time.

"I met Excelsior in this time. Meg took me here, and she's helping me adjust,"
Vaan said, finishing her tale and looking at Lady Psyche hopefully.

Re: Katy's Apartment

Psyche had nodded as Meg left, listening to Vaan intently. The entire story wasn't too far-fetched, though for the most part, Kate was still hung up on the fact that she had a daughter. Or had. Or would. Or may have within the foreseeable future. The thought wasn't unpleasant, but this girl looked like she'd seen hell and then some. The last thing Kate wanted her to do was say the wrong thing.

Then, discarded on the coffee table, a beeper went off. Floating up of its own accord, Kate snatched it out of the air, reading what it said. Trouble at the Museum. It was a good idea, yes, but Jordan had a direct line to her phone, being the Legacy's tie to the Police. Trouble at the museum? It was a good opportunity to get away, at least. Think on things while she pummeled a few people who definitely deserved it.

"Sweetie," Psyche said, getting up and putting a hand on the girl's shoulder, "Erm...I've got some work to do. There's food in the fridge. Help yourself. Make yourself at home. And...when you get tired, down the hall, first door on your right. I've got to think a little."
