Ozzy entered the funeral home, shifting down to human form so that he could fit inside the building. If the magic emanating from this place was any indication, he'd need his ability to dodge more than his ability to take punishment. After all, a death spell generally didn't care HOW tough you were.

Ozzy nodded and replied, "Don't worry, love, I won't. Just... be careful, okay? And promise me something. If I tell you to run, you run, okay? If I end up NEEDING my big form, I'm probably gonna end up doing a lot of collateral damage. And if I can't fight without worrying about you getting smashed by falling rubble, I might hesitate too long, okay?"

Ozzy carefully examined the door, looking to see if there were any wards upon it to keep intruders out, or if they would be so stupid as to think that no one would try to find them. After all, no point in trying to kick the door down if that would just spring some kind of magical trap that got him killed.

Alas, Matt doesn't think to just carve a hole through the floor.  Finding the doorway down, even one hidden, won't take particularly long however, unless it was upstairs or some other 'why would you even do that?' location.

Of course, he could also just go the same way Ozzy did.

There were several efficient courses of action to take from here.  Unfortunately, Matt doesn't think of them due to a lack of practice in a lethal mindset.  So instead, Matt settles for silently rushing the gathering.  Intending to brace himself against the ground (wall crawling is handy that way) for a punch at one of them if he gets close enough.  Set phasers to fractured ribs Mr. Sulu.

OOC: Benefits of Matt's influence.  Somebody with him can kill dracula with a brick.  Downsides, Matt himself is incapable of killing anything without a conscious decision to, as it puts a cap on what he can dish out.

Another of the dark mages turned to regard Matt as his comrade was punched out of the circle interrupting the spell. He was an older man perhaps in his fifties or sixties he was dressed in black robes with the hood pulled up shadowing his eyes. In his hand was a bone white staff with a long wicked looking blade at the end. He gripped the staff in both hands and swung it through the air a portal apearing along the blades trail. Out of the portal stepped four skeletons armed with various archaic weapons.

With that, he brought in his armor, messing with the transformation magic that turned it into a tattoo a bit to make the armor smaller, so it would fit his human form. The hammer's haft he shifted to make it longer and thinner, so he could use the massive weapon with two hands. Otherwise the handle would have been too big and thick for his smaller hands.

He then grinned and said, "Now, then, we'll see how your skeletons like the taste of Asgardian craftsmanship."

Re: The Dark Cadre's Lair.

She swore at him, and flung another bolt, this one of a sickly red, and the blood drained out of a tank where the embalmers hadn't yet disposed of it, and became a shambling THING that promptly tried to EAT him.  Whole.

Ozzy gagged as the blood-shambler formed, ducking out of the way as it tried to eat him, before conjuring a paint golem of his own to try and battle the beastie. He then turned to the blood mage and said, "Is there anything else, witch?"

Dragon Fist evaded the bite barely, purely out of reflex in spite of being armored. With this opponent, he would not have to hold back and so he didn't, crouching quickly and giving a vicious chi-powered uppercut on the zombified man.

Ozzy deflected the bolt of dark magic, slapping it away with his magic rune-sword before rushing in, aiming a knee towards the blood mage's solar plexus. Re: The Dark Cadre's Lair.

Ozzy tried his best to sidestep the fletchettes, but he was no speedster. They tore through his armor, and he screamed. While he was alive, it wasn't pretty. The right side of his face was fairly torn up, chunks were gone from his right ear, and his eye... well, let's just say if Megs couldn't fix it, then he'd be looking a bit more pirate-y from now on.

Still, the teenage titan stood firm, clearly in pain but not willing to give up the fight. Paint swirled over the wounded parts of his head, trying to close them off from her magic as he charged in, sword raised high once more before he stabbed it down at the ground, sending the blade streaking across the ground before piercing up, hoping to impale her from an unexpected direction.

Clarissa's ears flattened, but she was busy trying to make sure his wounds were clean.  She had ripped a chunk off of her skirt, and was wiping the blood away as she said "If she comes back, I'll rip her face off.  She REALLY was trying to do a number on you."  She shifted to meet his gaze, and he could feel her fishing in his head for a moment, finding those runes Odin had given him in Asgard.  She very carefully dipped one clawtip in his blood, and sketched one of them on his forehead as she said "You're going to have to show me how to conjure paint like you do, I really DON'T like painting runes with your own blood on you, love."  But the rune DID make the pain into a dull throb, instead of a screaming howl.

If we're lucky, they were the quick-and-dirty kind, and they'll fall apart with the casters gone. If we're not, then we need to take them out, as without the necromancers here to control them, they'll revert to normal undead protocols... namely, seek out and devour the flesh of the living. Bad news, yeah? Thankfully, they're necromantic skeletons and not virus zombies, so at least it wouldn't spread... I think. Violent deaths do sometimes automatically raise as malevolent spirits..."
