  Tim was carefully measuring out the chemicals for the experiment the chemistry professor had assigned him, and he was being careful.  He was also alone, but he had no cure for that, Jack wasn't in college, and he was a bit more advanced at it than Jack was anyway.

   He worked carefully through three quarters of the experiment, creating the polymer that had been assigned, and then began to carefully heat it, as directed. This was the volatile stage.  He hadn't noticed the faint tinge of gas in the air, as he'd been concentrating on what he was doing.  He hadn't realized that someone had taken the bunsen burner hoses and perforated every one of them so they'd leak and make it smell like farts in the room.  So he turned his back to put away the caustic acids that he'd been using, and was perhaps four steps away when it finally hit him, and he went to turn, but the fireball hit, the explosion slamming into his body with a roar, and his world vanished in a sheet of agony, just before he blacked OUT.

Dane parked his motorcycle, climbed off, and headed for the Athletics Center, where (he assumed) Dr. Thompson worked. He asked around until he found someone who could point him in the right direction, and headed there.

He poked his head around the corner, and assuming she was not with a patient, said, "Hey, Doc! Got a minute?"

  She had an office in the Sports Medicine building, where she was dressed in a set of blue scrubs and a white lab coat, a badge with her ID on her left breast pocket of the lab coat.  She was working on her computer, and looked up to see who was poking their head in when she asked "Can I help you?"

In reply to Kerry Thompson (msg # 5):

Dane grinned, and stepped into the room. He stood by the open door, and leaned back. "Hi. I'm Dane Sinclair. You don't know me, but Doctor Sanderson* recommended I come see you. I'd like to take you out to dinner tonight. She thought you might go."

He paused and said, "I understand you have some special circumstances, which, as it so happens, dovetail well with my own. Do you like steak? I know a place."

OOC: *I invented her name. Royalties apply. :-)

  She looked a little startled by his sudden request, and she said thoughtfully "I suppose I could.  So you're new with the DPA, I take it?  Sanderson is always trying to hook me up, she thinks I'm too reclusive."  She considered a moment, and said "As long as I get half an hour to stop at my house and do a couple things, I can go."

In reply to Kerry Thompson (msg # 7):

Dane nodded, smiling. "Outstanding. Steak ok? I'm fond of The Grotto, on Hudson Street. It's casual, so jeans are fine."

Then he chuckled. "Remind me over dinner to tell you the 'Cyborg/Supermodel' story."

Then as an afterthought, "How do you feel about motorcycles? I have an extra helmet, or we could just meet there. Your call."

  Kerry blinked, and said "I'll meet you there, it's nice enough weather if they have an outdoor seating area, we should sit there, I would prefer to bring my dog along, and she is usually okay in outdoor areas for dining, although she is a certified assistance animal if anyone has problems.  There's a long story to that."  Clearly one she didn't want to get into just now.

Dane nodded, and pushed himself off of the wall. "Perfect. I'll see you at 7:00 PM, outside seating. I'll call Tommy and set it up. Any other special needs aside from the dog?"

  She shook her head, and said "I  think that covers it.  You'll have to tell me a lot more about yourself when we next see one another."

Dane smiled. "Yeah, I'm not a fan of talking about myself. Google me. Most of the major stuff you can find with a few clicks. "

Then he nodded, said, "Ma'am. I'll see you at 7:00." and took his leave.
