Re: The Lyceum III (main)
"That's that," Olven says.  With the last of the draconians vanquished, he turns his attention to the room.  "If they were trapped in here, we could be, too," he says.  "Is there a way to prop this door open so that we are not sealed inside?"  He looks around for anything that might serve as a wedge or doorstop to avoid the fate of the late draconians.

OOC:  Look for something to keep the door open.  Then, search the room..

Re: The Lyceum III (main)
Olven Wolf looks around and then looks down at the stone-dead draconians.  "These things probably weigh a ton," he says.  "But they'd make excellent doorstops.  Give me a hand?"

OOC:  Olven will try to push one of the draconians over to hold the door open.  Then, he will search the room.

"That might not be a good idea. I seem to remember the things crumbling to dust after a short while. If any of them had dropped a weapon, that might have been useful."
At the doors, D'aden attempts to use an arrow to prop one open.

Re: The Lyceum III (main)
"Let's collect their gear, bind the arms of the remaining dracs, and give them a choice - to leave this place or to die."  Olven Wolf has no wish to slay defeated foes unarmed, but he cannot let them abide here.  "Or lock them up if we can."

OOC:  Bind the dracs if we can.  Collect their weapons and armor.  Either lead them out of the Lyceum and tell them to return to their army or imprison them here.  Then, continue with the exploration of the Lyceum.

Re: The Lyceum III (main)
Once the draconians have been stowed away, Olven Wolf returns to the three rooms formerly locked by the gems.  He begins with the room that the draconians had been trapped in.

OOC:  Olven will search each room, first the one on the right; second, the one in the middle; third, the one on the left.  He'll spend 5 minutes in each room looking for anything interesting.

Re: The Lyceum III (main)
The middle room had the same shape as the right room, but the walls were decorated with frescoes of brilliant sunsets composed thousands of red robed wizards. Here too, were an altar on a raised platform.

The left room had the same shape as the other two rooms, but the walls were decorated with frescoes of black robed wizards commanding the stars to align into patterns with Krynn below their all powerful hands. Here too, were an altar on a raised platform.

All three rooms were otherwise empty and uninteresting, except for the dust on the floor seeming to say that each room had a hidden door in the back wall.

Re: The Lyceum III (main)
"Hmmm...so something with the altars might open up a secret room?" Roisin asked. "Not sure how much of my magic will be useful here.... I think the key may have to be something related to each of the orders way of magic." Roisin went to the white robes room and started investigating the altar for clues.

D'aden looks at Roisin, and says, "I'm not terribly learned, or gifted, but I've always wanted to know more. Could you speculate on the chance that the three gems we retrieved earlier are connected to these altars?"

Taking the ruby from his pocket, Olven steps into the room of the red robes and puts the ruby on the altar.

Re: The Lyceum III (main)
As soon as Roisin and Olven placed their respective gems on their altars, the doors closed and locked behind them. Both gems instantly vanishing from the altars and reappearing above their pedestals.

The black door still remained open. And everyone else were in the larger room.

Roisin stared at the door for a few moments sighing heavily "Okay....well this is a college...so they'd have put in an eventuality and a way out." Roisin started looking around the secret door for any way to open it.

Grettanah watched as the doors closed on the rooms with Wolf and Bannatar. Noticing that the a red and clear gems appeared over the pedistals. Guess we'll wait for them to find their way back here.

D'aden took the final gem with him into the only open room and placed it on the altar. The door slammed shut behind him and the gem reappeared above its pedestal.

Interesting effect Grettanah comments stepping up to the crystal gem deftly plucking it from the air, she looks towards the door facing the chair. If the door opens she looks inside to see if Roisin is still there.

As Grettanah tried to take the crystal, it vanished from above that pedestal and reappeared above the middle pedestal were the ruby was.

In reply to Dragondog (msg # 570):

Tis as I suspected those within the room must undertake to exit the chamber by themselves. Unless there be a third to attempt to grasp the stones, we can do nothing else. After considerable time Grettanah had tired of waiting for the others to open the door for them. Come along Barrack lets see what we can do elsewhere.
