D'aden looks at the statue, and Tarhall, and says, "Will it take orders from anyone that speaks to it? I wouldn't want it behind me unless I was sure no one else could command it... ummm, no offense intended, Utrecht."

"Yes, Tarhall, why don't we use Utrecht as a forward scout.  So if there are any ambushes and traps, etc.  They will be sprung on our stoney decoy, instead of one of us."

"It only does what I'm telling it because I figured out its secret," Tarhall said. "It won't obey anyone else, but sending it out in front of us is probably a good idea."

Olven eyes the golem dubiously.  "As long as it obeys you, Tarhall, it should be all right.  Should be a great addition to our combat effectiveness if anything else."  Since the room doesn't seem to have anything else of value, he says, "OK, let's continue on, shall we?" and heads back out into the corridor, ready to continue exploring.

The Knight suggests.

"Perhaps we should have D'aden or anyone else that is good at finding hidden and secret compartments and doors.  Have a good look around the room before we move on?  I hear Mages love those types of things!"

The Mercenary nods his head.  "Good idea, Sir Owain.  Sarah is quite adept at finding hidden areas.  Sarah, can you find anything here?"

"Let's head back east, then.  We still need to explore the corridor to the east of that spectral woman and the room to the north.  Tarhall, can you have your new golem lead the way?"  Olven moves back to the rearguard position, his spear out now, and axe and shield put away.

D'aden gets out his bow, and moves near Tarhall. "If the big guy is only acting friendly because you're telling him to, perhaps it would be best if someone stayed near you to keep anyone else from changing the big guys mind."

Tarhall ordered Utrecht to lead the way and soon enough the heroes were back to where they encountered the spectral beings earlier.

Re: The Lyceum (main)

The heroes left the library and its hidden innards and where soon back to where they had encountered the spectral creatures, who where still there. To the heroes right was a large metal double door and to their left, the corridor continued.

Each of them noted that the door had melted together and likely would be difficult to impossible to open.

"Hello again," Olven Wolf says, giving the spectral apparitions a toothy grin.  "Haven't seen the children around here, have you?"

Pointing to the doors, he reminds the others, "Remember, we aren't allowed to go through there."

He gestures to his left down the corridor.  "Shall we advance that way?" he asks.

Re: The Lyceum (main)

The female specter shrugged her head. "There have been no children here," she said.

The heroes turned down the corridor and soon saw that two corridors branched off to the left, that there was a door at the end of the corridor, and that there was a door on the right side of the corridor.

[OOC: If you want to change your marching order, at this point or at some other point in the future. Feel free to do so.]

"Shall we try the doors first before we continue down the corridor?"  Olven Wolf hefts his spear and looks over his shoulder.  He goes to the first hallway to the left and looks down it, then the second, and then returns to the group.

"Yes, perhaps Kar's lovely companion could be of help.  By checking to see if they are locked or other wise.  Eliminating any problem that there might be."

"Each of those hallways has three doors leading off of it," Olven says, jogging back to the group.  "Let's check out these rooms here, and then go explore over there.  Sarah, would you check these doors for traps, please?"  His spear is out, and he holds it, ready for more action.

"I'll just stand back here with my bow. It shouldn't be too hard to shoot past you if there's something vicious on the other side of the door."
D'aden prepares to watch the doors open, an arrow nocked and ready in his bow.

Re: The Lyceum (main)

Sarah went ahead of the others and checked out the doors, one at a time. Opening each to a cramped room with sleeping benches lining the walls. All of rooms almost identical. In one of them they discovered a dead man wearing clothing and a backpack. And holding a two handed sword, which Tarhall mentioned was magical.

Olven eyes the sword dubiously.  "Can you tell if that's a cursed sword, Tarhall?" he asks.  "This would certainly qualify as helping Kalaman, I suppose, though one of you might want to put in a claim for it.  If it's not cursed, we should take it along with us."  He checks the man's backpack to see what it contains.

Re: The Lyceum (main)

D'aden opines, "A sword that big should be worth something, anyway. I bet you could get at least three good cups from it."
His curiosity piqued, D'aden examined the dead guy with an eye as to whether his death was violent. "If this man was done in by some outside service, either the sword is not worth taking, or whatever did him in doesn't use such things."
