The First Aeon

In the beginning there was Nothing. No light, no sound, no matter or movement. All that existed was Ao and from Ao sprang the ten gods. Being of purpose and potential, they would enact their wills upon this blank canvas. For good or ill, this Void was theirs to shape as they saw fit.

So begins the First Aeon.

Note: Gods begin with one Creation Act (Used for creating basic elements of the universe) and one normal Act which can be used as they see fit.

New Acts are obtained at 8am Pacific Standard Time each day.

The First Aeon

Looking out into the void, Masmorda frowned as she saw it was so empty. It definitely needed some work and things in it. But what should they fill it with? Thinking on it for a time an idea comes to the Goddess. Concentrating on her powers she extends both arms out towards the void and intones in a made up language the words for create and wet.

Creation: Masmorda creates a water sphere.

Seeing her watery sphere she is pleased, the sphere was huge(About the size of Jupiter) and floated in the void a nice turquoise color.

Thinking a bit more though, she thinks it needs something else as well. Keeping her arms extended towards her new sphere she intones the words for firm and land.

Act 1: Masmorda creates the Uguay continent on the watery sphere.

Within the Void appears a globe of WATER is created! It marks the first act of creation within the cosmos! This sphere of liquid quickly hardens into solid ice in the frigid Void.

At the same time earth and soil are formed on this frozen rock, the continent of UGUAY is shaped!

The First Aeon

Osalus enters the void, although not really having a form it is hard to define that still at least there was something here now. Still it was not enough there was so much more that needed to be done, to be added. The urge to great was great and it filled Osalus.

Creation: Osalus creates an unending current of air.

Dwelling upon it Osalus decides to move the air, and so he directs it. to flow and swirl.

Act 1: Creates movement, and circulation of the air within the void.

Osalus creates AIR, it fills the Void so that these vapors now permeate creation.

Air is then set into motion, it becomes a restless substance constantly shifting and circulating. This change has no impact on the larger cosmos at this time as aside from earth and the frozen planet there is nothing to be buffetted by these new winds, but the constantly shifting gales of the Void may have a larger impact as the universe is further developed.

The First Aeon

Eregor observed the creations of Masmorda.  They were wonderful, but though the ice was pretty, it was disappointing to see Masmorda's moving water still to ice.

Eregor reached into the void and poked holes in it, drawing light and heat out of the cold and dark.  Eregor positioned one point of light near the water sphere to warm it back up to wiggling water.

Creation: Eregor creates stars.

Eregor thought that heat and light were not enough to protect the moving waters.  Besides they needed something to move with them as well!  Eregor breathed upon the water sphere, delighting to see the waters rippling in the moving air.

Act: Eregor creates an atmosphere around the water sphere.

And so STARS are formed. These burning holes mark punctures to the fabric of the Void and through these holes shine LIGHT and HEAT. With the creation of light its twin of darkness becomes apparent which is the absence of light but had no name before it had something by which to contrast itself. The frozen planet was located near one of these newly formed stars and the warmth shining through melts the surface layers of ice on the side of the planet facing the sun, the far side of the planet remains frozen and frigid, for the planet hangs still in the Void. On the frozen side of the planet lies the dark continent of Uguay.

At the same time, the frozen planet is granted and ATMOSPHERE. A composition of particles that make up a vaporous skin that surrounds the planet. It is distinct from the AIR that fills the Void. The addition of heat and an atmosphere also creates weather cycles on the frozen planet as the water heats and evaporates on the hot side while cold air pushes in from the dark side of the planet creating constantly whipping winds and flurries of snow and rain.

The First Aeon

It was once silent in the void, and in that silence Ferenghir slept. It was not the creation of the sphere or the continent—nor was it the formation of the stars or the movement of fledgling weather patterns—but rather the emotions of the other gods that awoke Ferenghir.

The creations that Masmorda, Osalus, and Eregor, had so ardently shaped in the void seemed to reflect their curiosity with their new existence. Their world was beautiful, but it was lonely, and like the gods, Ferenghir thought this sphere ought to have siblings as well. Though these spheres were each merely a quarter the size of Masmorda's, they numbered three and borrowed from the gifts the others had bestowed upon the void: one brilliant white to reflect the glory of Eregor's stars, one tinged blue in honor of Masmorda's sphere of water, and a small swirling gas sphere of Osalus's endless motion.

Creation: Ferenghir forms three moons that orbit Masmorda's sphere.

The liquid half-dome of Ferenghir's face quivered in amusement, for they would also bring a touch of themselves to this great collaboration.

Act: Ferenghir binds the four spheres together with ley lines.

With a single ACT Ferenghir creates THREE MOONS and thus comes to be the first divine to experience the WRATH OF AO as rather than the stars, which were uniform in their multiplicity, these moons were each unique. The three moons do indeed come to exist floating in the space around the nameless planet, but each was inexorably linked to the other. Any Act worked upon one moon would be echoed across its two twin counterparts. For now this Wrath does not manifest any obvious change, but it lies waiting.

At the same time Ferenghir creates LEY LINES, but as these are not defined by Fereghir and for now the Act is returned to the god. Let the other gods take heed, Ao may be feeling more troublesome next time something is created and left as a blank canvas for the whims of the All-Father.

These newly formed moons slowly shift into a perfectly synchronzied orbit of the planet below, gently buffeted by the winds of the Void that Osalus had set into motion.

The First Aeon

And Cargous beheld the work of his fellows, and saw that it was good.

He perceived that the closest star was a distance of 98 million miles from this world, and in his mind he knew from the ancient vaults of understanding that this was right, given the size of the world. Still in his heart he knew something was missing, and was troubled by this. Much he deliberated upon this, until an idea gripped him.

”Just as this world has a star to warm it, and to begin the seasons, and just as it has  moons to help complete it. For just as some beings wear scales, and some thick hide, so should the atmosphere have a mighty burning core to armor it against the ravages of the void, and to complete the chord of the spheres.”

So saying Cargous gathered up comets and many loose rocks scattered across the void, and cutting his hair, he fashioned a net  around what was gathered.

Tight was the net.

Again and again he blew; again and again his hands beat like hammers; and as he beat he spun the work about, faster and faster, for the passing of an age he labored. Then he split the object into three and stood upon a third of his creation with his left foot, and a third of his creation beneath his right, while one third remaining spinning while he hammered.  For another age he labored thus. Then forcing the three together once more the spinning sphere within a hardened mold, Cargous descended into the heart of the world, which had no name. Within the very center he went, and his movement was mighty, although few witnessed his passing. Beneath the oceans of the world Cargous planted the gem he wrought, the third string in the mighty chord, and cunningly so, that the outer core would serve as the bedrock from which mountains and other masses might spring forth, not yet wrought;   all forged from the inner core, whose magma all volcanoes and metals and other things    are birthed.

And Cargous saw that this was good, for the star, and moon, and core would rotate the world and give it a perfect ellipse of 128 rotations to complete its revolution, without tilt, and this would give it seasons of equal length.

Creation & Action: Cargous creates a core to help bolster the atmosphere, help manage tidal flow, and support the ten with  days & seasons, and provide his fellows with tools with which to build with.

And so Kargous imagined a great many things which did not exist save for in his mind. Whimsical notions of meteors, gems, feet all little more than notions the god had yet to properly bring into the world.

What Kargous did do, was set a burning core at the center of the nameless world. This burning core melted the frigid ice around it and created proper oceans at the very core of the planet, the waters closest to the core were constantly boiling while the waters at the edges of the cores burning glow remained frozen but between the two came to exist a temperate sea of shifting and ebbing currents. Occasionally these currents shifted and melted new tunnels into the icy shell around this ocean, only to shift again and have these warm tunnels freeze again.

On Unguay, the only land to exist on this simultaneously freezing and boiling world, the earth that bordered on one side of the core came to experience volcanic interaction with heated stone sometimes bursting up and through the crust to rearrange the surface.

And one Act was returned to Kargous because creating a burning core to the planet used only a single Act.

The First Aeon

Vaunht quietly observed his siblings creativity come to reality, but found all the beauty of it dull. Pointing his finger, Vaunht commanded Uguay to sprout life, vegetation slowly covering it's surface.

CREATION: Vaunht creates plants.

And so there was life. But Vaunht was not yet happy with the blades of grass dancing on Osalus' winds. And so he points now to the seas, and commands it to sprout life aswell. Microscopic life is born in the sea, and for now floats unaware of it's own existance.

ACT 1: Vaunht creates bacteria.

And so Vaunht creates PLANTS. Vegetation of all manner spreads across the nameless planet. In the star-melted seas on the sun side of the planet complex surface cover plants grow which are eager to take advantage of the life giving heat from the sun, algaes, great broad leafy plants and all manner of floating ecosystems, more scraggly plant systems grow another layer down, here they are buoyed by the shifting currents and make do with the less readily available sun and heat. But the most complex plant systems appear far far below the planets surface in the great subterranean ocean, there the heat from the core fuels another plant system, this one a tapestry of blues and whites as they live strictly off thermal energy rather than solar. These albino fields of seaweed and jungles of twisting sea vines form a tangled knot in the places closest the boiling boundary, then thin out in the temperate regions while far out by the frozen boundaries only the most hardy of plants exist.

At the same time Vaunht creates BACTERIA, tiny life that teems in vast numbers. It readily feeds upon the plants and breaks down the plants that die to convert it into nutrients. Thus setting into motion a system of growth and death and renewal for the plant systems.

The First Aeon

Narcissa watched her brethren in awe, watching as the beauty of their creation began to come to life.  She watched as her comrades created the beautiful sphere in front of them. She took in all the marvelous creations  they made — water, stars, greenery. It was all so spectacular. The thing that intrigued her the most, however, was the icy cold side of their creation. Intrigued and nervous about that her comrades were going to get rid of her beautiful icy land. Hopefully, her compromise would work. Using her hands, she tilts the sphere, angling it so a majority of the world  could be facing the star, and slowly pushes it into an orbit, watching as their beautiful creation began to circle around the star; tidally locking it so her precious ice land wouldn’t melt under the heat of the large star.

CREATION: Narcissa creates an orbit around the star.

Content with her contributions to the planet as a whole, she began to focus in on her beautiful ice covered part of the world.  She takes some of her own locks and forms two of the same creatures— rabbit like creatures who were able to withstand the coldness of her side of the world. A smile grew, looking at her fellow gods for approval.

ACT 1: Narcissa creates animals.

Narcissa nudges the nameless planet into motion, it starts to slowly revolve around the star from which it draws its light and heat. While now moving, the planet itself remains still so it continues to have a light side which is scalding hot and a dark side which is frigidly cold. Meanwhile the three moons of Ferenghir are dragged along with the new movement of the planet maintaining their perfectly symmetrical orbits of the nameless world. With the three moons the tides on the sun side of the planet are complex and quickly shifting affairs.

At the same time Narcissa creates animals, specifically one creature, a small furry creature its thick skin and fatty reserves make it ideally suited for the dark side of the planet. There this new animal flourishes as without predators to check their numbers they are free to feast on the scraggly sub-tundra plants that grow on the ice fields and frozen dirt on Unguay.

The First Aeon

Kargous witnessed what he had fashioned, and he was not pleased.

So he spred forth his hands, and made layers of earth that would separate the burning core and the seas, and the land that rose above the sea. These plates would still allow for the magma to flow furth from time to time, and their crashing together would raise up mountains beneath the waves, which may in time, create landmasses above the waters too.

Creation: Kargous has created plate tectonics

Then Kargous set the core into interaction with the nearest star, and the three moons, so that it would slowly spin helical, giving it a day and a night.

Action 1: Kargous has given the world a day and a night, each lasting sixteen (16) hours in length equally.

But Kargous had already spent his Creation act fashioning the core for the planet. With no Act to spend he incurs the WRATH OF AO. TECTONIC PLATES appear, great earthen discs that lie atop the surface of the frozen planet, drawn to one another, these discs of earth are constantly slamming into one another, their friction of the plates rubbing together creating constant earthquakes while the heat generated when one plate sinks beneath the other is hot enough to create small areas of lava which occasionally rise to the surface. These great pressures and heats generated by the shifting plates also generates the first precious gemstones as normal rocks and soil are converted by the huge pressures involved. All of this is constantly occurring leaving the continent formed by these tectonic plates as a tumultuous and chaotic place and due to the Wrath of Ao, there would be no taming of these cataclsymic forces.

Kargous did have his regular Act remaining from the day and so his efforts to spin the nameless world into motion fare much better. The world starts to gently rotate so that now each side of the planet would experience light and dark. This normalizes the temperatures across the planets, the previously deep ice-melt seas on the former sun side become shallower as the heat no longer reaches as deeply, while the formerly frigid side of the planet warms and a larger variety of plant life springs up. A great many of the furred creatures of Narcissa die off as they are uanble to tolerate temperatures above the frigid ones they knew, but they survive extinction at the northern and southern poles of the planet which, due to receiving scant sunlight, remain icy and cold.

So now the nameless world rotates and possess rich plant ecosystems, both in the surface seas and the deep subterranean sea near the core. Two continents have been formed on the otherwise watery world, the first lands of Uguay and the much younger and violently shifting continent of tectonic plates.

Vaunht watched the cycle of life he had created, and found it delightful. But there was more work to be done.

Focusing on the plant life for now, he decided that he wanted a new ecosystem to sprout. And saw Vaunht commanded a large patch of land south of the equator line to grow large, strong plants. The plants sprouted, and becames trees. And the trees beared fruit, that (for now) will uselessly fall off the branches, their potential wasted. And he deemed this new creation the Yondi Forest.

ACT 2: Vaunht creates the Yondi Forest

On the continent of Uguay appears the YONDI FOREST, a great forest of tall trees which fills up miles and miles of southern reaches of the continent. There in the warm weather created by the new cycles of day and night the bounty of these trees would reach fruition and fall to the ground where the worlds bacteria ate away at them leaving the forest floor of the Yondi forest as a soupy, but highly fertile, mush and the air was filled with the pungent sweet scent of rot. In only a few short years the forest floor of the Yondi Forest would be tightly packed with all manner of bushes, ivy, flowers and other plants that found the boughs of the fertile forest to be a welcoming home.

Osalus drifted as it considers what to do next. The forest delighted it, still it wanted something... different. He drifted aimlessly, and then finally he moved with purpose.

So it crafted several smaller masses of this earth substance and scattered them creating an archipelago. Yet not wanting them to be bound to the water, Osalus suspended them in the air at different heights trailing away from the continent of Uguay towards one of the poles. Ensuring they would drift somewhat but not be destroyed he placed the smallest of the floating islands last just brushing the upper edge of the atmosphere.

Act 2: Osalus creates the floating Archipelago of Osu

A long string of floating islands is formed to create the FLOATING ARCHIPELAGO that borders an edge of Uguay and trails off further south. These islands sit at different elevations, the climate of the lower islands tend to mirror the areas of Uguay near the island, it gets roughly the same amount of rain fall and seeds are blown there easily enough that grass lands and forests start to form, though these regions are still drier than the their counterparts on the ground itself. The climate differences become more notable in the higher floating islands, here there is less rainfall and what rains they do get tend to drain away faster which makes much of these upper islands into cold high deserts where only a few cacti and flowers bloom after the infrequent rains.

The First Aeon

Eregor observes the creations of the other gods and is struck by inspiration.  So much movement!  So much life!  Eregor wants to make motion too!

Drawing inspiration from the plants and animals, Eregor creates beings to live at the edges of land and water, on the water planet, Oceaus.  Adapted for swimming and for walking, the most notable feature of these new creatures is their clever mind.

Some coasts of Oceaus are harsh and cold and some are hospitable and warm.  Erego shuns none of them when scattering Quajrils about.  Adversity leads to innovation and Eregor is curious to see what these new people will make!

Eregor creates the amphibious sentient race, Quajrils and scatters them about Oceaus.

Eregor calls this nameless world Oceaus and thus it is nameless no longer.

And so the first sentient life is created with the QUAJRILS! These aquatic people are the first beings aside from the gods themselves with the ability to think and ponder. They are capable of observing the world around them and striving to enact change. For the time being they are mere newborns. They explore the new waters and shores of their various homes, they eat the plants the many plants they find (And find that some are not suited for their diet, inadvertently discovering death in the process) These first days of their existence are idyllic, with no predators or other foraging animals to contend with they spend their days grazing, eating, and interacting with one another in swimming races and wave riding.

Some also came to be sown in the inner seas of Oceaus, there they live much like their surface brethren, though these tribes never experience air as the inner ocean is blocked off from the surface by the icy walls that still exist between the inner. These inner Quajrils find no shortage of food from the core-heated jungles.

So come to exist the Quajrils.

The First Aeon

Inspired by Vaunht’s comments on order and chaos. Arcturus begins to act.

He descends upon Oceaus first to the floating archipelago and breathes upon one of the larger islands high above the land. The island absorbs the breath of Arcturus and becomes imbued with divinity causing a luminescent effect.

The island itself will glow with an ever-changing light varying in color and intensity as time passes.

“May the tales that will be told of Orenda never die.”

Swooping over the shores of the land He finds the seas too tranquil. In a flash of light, He creates the Chigon. Unlike the Quajrils, these water creatures are not truly sentient. They are ruled only by hunger and the basest of instincts. The sea is their domain and all who venture too far into the depths must fear their sharp fangs and territorial claws.

Arcturus creates vicious Chigon who dwell in the seas.

(Seeing that the basics of life have been established by other Gods Arcturus forgoes his “Creation act”)

One of the floating islands of the archipelago is touched by Arcturus' divine will and gains brilliant light that makes it visible for miles around and Arcturus name this island ORENDA. The Quajrils in that part of the world  use the glowing beacon as a means of navigation during the roaming of the seas. They could already see the stars at night and assume that this new brilliant spot in the sky is simply one that got lost, they called it the Lost Star, not realizing its true name of Orenda.

And Arcturus also creates the Chigon within the seas and woe are the Quajrils! These hungry omnivores are simple base animals and have no desires beyond simply feeding and existing and worst of all, they have a taste for meat. The Quajrils, being the only source of meat besides the few tundra rabbits at the poles, quickly become a favorite snack for the Chigon. On the shores this pushes the Quajrils to prefer to make permanent homes on the safety of land. However down far belong those Quajrils in the inner sea have no such reprieve,  their numbers are halved and halved again over the course of a few years. Those that manage to survive this bloody time learn to hide among the aquatic plants and eke out an existence centered on blending into the albino jungles of the sunless sea.

The First Aeon

Clearly disappointed that her beautiful ice land had been split between the opposite sides of Oceaus, Narcissa takes note of the beings that live in the the waters surrounding the warm area of their planet.  The nervousness of the possibilities of someone ruining the perfection she had in mind began to settle in. Seeing the new creatures created by her cohorts eating the original inhabitants of the land, she decided that it was time to have something that could protect her land.

It takes quite some time to evolve her creatures. She creates them to be kind inhabitants, though they seem to be territorial.  These creatures still have the long ears of the previous rabbit and are covered with the long fur that kept them warm previously. They move around on their hind legs, able to still work and get to the vegetation in the frozen tendrils for sustenance. She attempts to guide them with her light, teach them how to live and survive in their frozen sections of the world.

ACT 2: Narcissa evolved the rabbits to the sentient race known as the Amaroks.

And so the surviving furred creatures Narcissa created are elevated and become the AMAROKS, the second intelligent species of the Void. Much like the Quajrils that came first the newly awakened Amaroks explore their surroundings with new appreciation and curious minds. Also like the Quajrils they come into an easy first existence with no predators to worry about, though they have far less plentiful food than the other species had enjoyed in the warmer regions. This shortage of food means that they're forced to travel as they deplete an area of its natural foliage, thus becoming nomadic peoples that roam the two poles.

It should be noted at this time that the once frozen planet is now fully thawed with the addition of days and nights from Kargous' rotation. Now the oceans are liquid save for at the two poles, though with the planets uneven rotation it means part of the world experiences cold winters and part of the world has hot summers. During those winters the top of the oceans freeze again forming a sheet of ice several feet thick while the summer side of the planet experiences increased thunderstorms and rains.

The First Aeon

Rhullarrk looks down at the watery Oceaus and is delighted with the works of her fellow gods and goddesses. And decides to add the the worlds.

Rhullarrk grins mischievously as she breathes upon one of the bright shining moons of Oceaus Creation Act: Rhullarrk creates atmosphere around the moon.

Act 1 Rhullarrk creates Mirror Image Island
Rhullarrk sees the divide between the peoples of the land and the peoples of the sea and thinks that common ground might help to bring them together. So within the Floating Archipelago Rhullarrk creates a large floating island, above the water the island slowly rises to create a large conical mountain. Beneath the rolling waves the island mirrors the top portion to create an underwater mountain that reaches down towards the inner seas. The two sides of this improbable island come together at the shoreline where there is but a thin crust separating the top from the bottom.

<b> Act 2 Rhullarrk forms the Agraciada<b>
A large graceful ocean creature who lives in the oceans near to the planet's heated core in what was once the inner sea.  This creature, while not sentient is very intelligent and lives in large family groups and is very loyal, curious, and friendly towards the Quajrils. The Agraciada are as large as the Chigon, with long graceful bodies the four large fins on each side of their bodies. Unlike the Chigon, the Agraciada live off the plentiful sea vegetation that grow on the underside on Mirror Image Island.

The brilliant white moon is gifted an atmosphere by Rhullarrk so that if natives of Oceaus visit they would be able to breath. As one moon is changed so too do the others as the Wrath of Ao still lingers on these moons. The blue-tinged moon also gains an atmosphere, but not one to match the other two worlds, here the atmospheric composition is still breathable, but in mortals of Oceaus it will induce a foggy mind and fatigue giving everything they might experience on the blue moon a dream-like quality. The gas-moon is similarly changed, its gases becoming an echo of the other two, but further distorted. Here the atmosphere is... tolerable, if only barely. Its swirling fumes gain a yellow tint and should anything from Oceaus encounter them they'll find this atmosphere caustic and uninviting, but survivable.

Next a new island joins the Floating Archipelago of Osu. The MIRROR ISLAND is formed, an island whose upper half is a twin to the lower half beneath the waves. Above water a tall inert volcano stretches high into the air and its peak reaches very nearly some of the highest floating isles, below the waves is lower peak reaches so very deep into the sea it breaches the wall of ice that isolates the Inner Sea, now its subterranean caverns may provide a pathway through the ice to the outer world of Oceaus, once those isolated Quajrils find it that is.

Lastly appear the Agraciada AGRACIADA, sleek friendly beasts of the ocean. While not fully sentient, they are intelligent and playful. They are naturally drawn to the Quajril and shadow them when the intelligent peoples go swimming, the Agraciada ever curious about what these other species are doing. Another source of meat also relieves some pressure from the predations of the Chigon, now the toothy predators of the seas have new prey to chase, prey which is unable to take shelter on land, thus a new balance establishes itself into the aquatic ecosystems.

The First Aeon

The glowing sprite of a god was impressed with the work that his fellow gods had implanted onto the once-empty Void thus far. Stars, moons, planets, raging winds, sentient animals and powerful volcanoes... it was all incredible, creative, and beautiful. This was the kind of canvas that a god-artist like him preferred because just as a painter needs more than one color to create, a god relies on existence to draw inspiration from and create something for. And much like the aforementioned painter, the boyish deity floated through the Void with his pockets full of colors, accidently spilling them here and there, causing a significant light show to appear in unexpected places. When he noticed what he had done, he frowned clumsily and apologetically to Ao, the gods, and the others, but he decided to run with it for his first and only Creation Act.

Much like a child still growing and learning about the world around him, Savios started to finger paint onto the Void, creating streaks of magnificent and brilliant vivid colors that usually appeared at night but sometimes conditions would change to allow daylight to manifest the light shows. The places that these lights and colors appeared depended on the atmosphere and location of the viewer; some of the sights were bound to be far too distant for any mortal or animal to see, but others were noticeable in the right spot at the right time to inspire and promote beauty and creativity. Savios hummed in contempt as he created these dazzling streaks and added motion to them so that they danced like waves across the skies. Within this moment of contemplation, Savios spoke up to his creator with a beaming smile. "I, Savios the Young, use my Creation Act to make... uhm... let's call them Auroras!"

Creation Act: Savios uses his Creation Act to decorate the skies with dazzling and stunning displays of colorful light that operated on atmospheric conditions, naming them the Auroras.

When Savios was satisfied with the amount of work he had put into that Creation, he rode one of the Auroras like a wave, surfing down to the surface of Oceaus as his childlike laughter filled the interdimensional pockets of the Void. He oohed and awed at the pretty lights that engulfed him from the stars, the accompanying auroras, and the sight of the three uniquely-colored moons in the distance that circled around the spherical planet. He didn't realize where he was going or heading, but eventually, he crash landed in the middle of the Yondi Forest into a comfortable thicket of bushes and flowers that smelled amazing! He stood up and brushed off his ethereal form free of imaginary leaves and branches, and the fluttering of his light-speed wings started up again as he hovered through the thick trees, fingers running along the trunks curiously. "I hope Brother Vaunht doesn't mind me playing in here..." he muttered, being immensely inspired by the other deity's creations of life, such as the plants and bacteria that he had introduced so far. It was then that another idea sprouted in his mind and he beamed brightly. He would give this wonderful forests its first guardians and denizens!

He landed on the ground again and he started to play with a wet pile of dirt, patting it together with some greenery and other fauna. An image formed in his mind of what he wanted these beings to be and so he applied himself to making an ideal figure. But as he shaped it, he split one into two evenly and made the pair equal in appearance, but different in their strengths and weaknesses to compliment each other. Green-skinned herbivores with two strong arms and two long legs with pointy ears made to be sensitive to sounds and wide beady eyes that absorbed all manners of light plentifully, thus randomizing their eye colors during childhood based on their exposure to colors and not based on genetics. To emphasize the duality between the reproductive pair, he would spend both of his ACTs on the creation and initiation of his new sentient beings known as the Yandee. Their green skin would certainly be made of flesh but would also be welcoming to plantlife, rich with nutrients to emphasize their connection with nature and the bountiful environment around them. Although herbivores and made to be resourceful, they are not to shy away from conflict if it interferes with the ideals of peace, tranquility and community.

Savios took a cradling hand and placed the pair of Yandee within the heart of the Yondi Forest and tucked them into bed within the wide trunk of a strong and healthy fruit-bearing tree. "Now sprout and create, and protect the flowers and the trees! Be sure to thank all the gods, children, and not just me!" With that merry little rhyme, he hummed to himself as he hovered up and away from the Forest, content with what he had made thus far. Of course, like any eager artist, he already yearned to create more! But he felt strangely tired and exhausted and he blinked sleepily at the stars and moons and auroras, yawning as he disappeared between the leylines and through the thick clouds carried by favorable winds, finding a comfortable one to settle in to take a nap. He smiled and slept for an unknown period of time, his heavenly glow dying down but still encompassing his phantasmal figure.

ACT 1 & 2: Savios spends both of his ACTs in the creation of his sentient race the Yandee, the resourceful and tranquil plant-like humanoid guardians of the Yondi Forest.

So the god Savrios creates AURORAS, beautiful splashes of color across the Void. These serve to transform the night sky of Oceaus into a beautiful work of art. The Quajrils and Amaroks are amazed at the change in the heavens and it inspires a wave of studying the night sky, searching for meaning among the pinpoints of stars.

Next, another intelligent race joins the Quajrils and Amaroks, this one is the Yandee. Forged with two separate acts, each gender of the Yandee is self-sustaining, if they lack another member of their species they will produce asexually giving the race greater survivability than others possessed. Created to subsist off the forests in which they were birthed, the Yandee forage off fruits, berries and roots which are all abundantly available. For now they simply exist, learning the nuances of the forest into which they were born and learning the basic lessons that the other species had learned before them.

The First Aeon

Vaunht was not at all protective of his creation, and he appreciated and celebrated the creation of the Yandee. He thought very hard about how to repay Savios and the Yandee for their existance as guardians of the Yondi Forest, and he finally decided on a proper reward.

Reaching at the center of the Yondi Forest, Vaunht pulled from what was up until that point a regular tree, and the tree was infused with life, and it grew, and grew, and grew. From afar, the rest of the races would see a massive, giant tree that reached up to the skies of Oceaus. And so Vaunht created the Yoneden, or the Tree of Knowledge. The roots of the tree were connected to Oceaus on a spiritual level, and gathered knowledge from all corners of the world, and collected the information into an infinite number of symbols that extended upon it's core. The Yandee, as guardians for the forest, could access the hollow trunk of the tree to gain all the information that it collected.

ACT 3: Vaunht creates the Yoneden, Tree of Knowledge.

Within the Yondi Forest a tree greater than any of the others is sprung from the will of Vaunht. Thus YONEDEN, THE TREE OF KNOWLEDGE is formed. Existentially connected to all things, Vaunht makes the Yoneden collect knowledge of all things around it. But, he also makes that information available to the Yandee, thus with a single Act Vaunht attempted to both create the Yoneden and gift the Yandee with special access to its knowledge. These are two separate goals and thus incurs the Wrath of Ao. Yoneden springs up tallest of the Yondi Forest trees and its trunk is covered in strange symbols and glyphs representing the already vast stores of knowledge obtained there, the Yandee who curious approach this new creation find they are able to enter the trunk itself there. There the first curious souls encounter the knowledge contained therein and also discover the Wrath of Ao.

Yandee can indeed drink of the Tree of Knowledge's wisdom, in doing so they learn all manner of things mortals had never had a way of knowing before. They learn the names of all the gods, the works they have done. And they become jaded. Yandee who learn the secrets of the cosmos through the Yoneden are cursed to lose their regard for the divine. These Yandee leave the tree full of great secrets and leave regarding the gods as little more than greatly powerful, but fallible, entities.

In a single stroke the Yandee become the most enlightened of all the races, but a rapidly growing sect spurn the gods. A quickly forming new sect is formed called the Enlightened, the Yandee seek to teach their kin the ways of the world in which they inhabit, and also that they're all hostages of things called gods.

Thus the Yoneden is cursed.

The First Aeon

How to explain ley lines to the All-Father. Perhaps it was the wrong term, thought Ferenghir. Much like how their moons were inextricably linked, and like how Rhullarrk intrinsically sought to revel in the creation celebration of the moons with a gift that might be one day shared with the inhabitants of Oceaus, there were acts that went beyond words. Perhaps the moons, like the gods, like the creatures, like the Tree, needed names. Celestia the White, Yazul the Blue, and Gael of the Gas. Three siblings, their lives and fates intertwined like that of the gods'.

Ferenghir's face swirled into a small whirlpool as they scooped into the earth of Celestia, filling holes and channels with a silvery, metallic, and viscous liquid that began to fill the lowlands of the moon. This liquid, they would gently shape and imbue in it a sort of life energy, invisible to the naked eyes of the inhabitants of Oceaus yet just as useful as tooth and claw. It was a liquid that, through the absorption of the sun's rays of light, stored the power to transform immaterial thoughts into material results, and through its use, the mortals, in their brief lifespans, might come to obtain some fraction of protection from the world around them. It would be a tool that could bring their hearts' desires to fruition and allow them to connect with others through actions. Dare they say it? Magic. Ferenghir would name this liquid Mana.

Act: Ferenghir fills the brilliant white moon Celestia with a silvery, viscous liquid they call Mana.

And from the reflective earth that they had scooped from the moon, Ferenghir created a race of sentient beings on Celestia. Crystalline sentient beings named Krys who feed off Mana and sunlight find mastery over the liquid pool of Mana from which they are birthed, propelling themselves effortlessly through the low-gravity atmosphere and exploring slowly, as the light and energy from the sun bounces off their refracting crystalline bodies and into their core, feeding them. Truly, the Krys were a mirrored homage to the beauty of Celestia, to the cooperation from the gods and the All-Father that had put everything into being.

Act: Ferenghir creates the sentient crystalline race of the Krys on Celestia.

On the newly named moon of Celestia a liquid called Mana is created, it fills the low places to form rivers, lakes and even oceans. This was not water though. Ferenghir fashioned this substance to be magic. Magic would be a form of influence on the world that introduced new laws upon those natural underpinnings of the Void. Mortals, through manipulation of this Mana could find ways to influence the world in ways previously impossible.

Next, Ferenghir creates the Krys upon Celestia, crystalline people who feed off sunlight. Intelligent like the other races, they observe the world, adapt and change. Of all the mortal races born, the Krys have the easiest existence of any mortal race as they don't even need to seek out nourishment, they feed themselves simply by walking the surface of Celestia. Have no real needs or wants, they spend their days in exploration or their barren rocky world, playing games with one another and dabbling with the pools of Mana they come across.

And while everything goes as intended upon Celestia, the three moons are still, and forever will be, wrath cursed. Upon the newly named Yazul the Blue, changes also occur. Mana similarly springs up here, but where the liquid is silvery on Celestia, on Yazul it forms like sludge, thick and blackened. This Yazul Mana is similarly infused with magic, but of a far less hospitable variety, any who might use the Yazul Mana be careful, this form of magic is wily and contrary. Similarly, on the last moon Gael, Mana also appears, here the liquid is diffused into the gas giant itself so its indistinguishable from the surrounding vapors. Gael Mana is twisted even further, thoroughly dangerous, any mortal who seeks to tamper with this magic will find it a violently dangerous, even malevolent.

And one should not forget that just like the Krys were created on Celestia, misshapen echoes of the act also play out across Yazul and Gael. Neither of these echoes are actually intelligent like the Krys, but on Yazul appear shadows of the Krys, they can mimic and play pranks, but are not truly intelligent. They revel in playing wicked games upon one another, up to and including the occasional killing or maiming of their kin. On Gael the echo is further distorted, only vaguely Krys like at all to begin with, these new mortals are immediately the victims of the Gael Mana which further twists and distorts them, turning them into misshappen monstrosities which now roam the gasses of the moon. Woe be it to any mortals that eventually meet these horrors.

On Oceaus the Enlightened of the Yandee learn of this new for of power, magic, and their minds are set ablaze. In their eyes the only thing that sets gods above mortals is power, and now gods have given them a tool to access great power for themselves. A new guiding goal for the Enlightened becomes a way to access the Mana of the moons so they might find a way to be free of the influence of gods.

The First Aeon

Masmorda watched in awe her brothers and sisters create their creations and it was glorious. She loved watching what her simple little planet was becoming as the gods and goddesses worked together to form it. Inspired by this, Masmorda makes a smaller planet far apart from Oceaus, but instead of making it out of water, this time she makes it out of earth. A nice tan color, floating in place in the void.

Act 1: Masmorda creates a new planet in the void (this one roughly the size of Neptune.)

Seeing her new creation, Masmorda is pleased with it an thinks she should give it a name. Her other planet has a name, so shall this one.

Act 2: Masmorda dubs the new planet in the void, Niman.

By the will of Masmorda, a second planet is forged in the brilliant glow of the Void. Composed of earth where Oceaus was water, this new planet is created near a star where it enjoys the warmth and light from this hole in the Void. And Masmorda called this new planet NIMAN. It has a lot way to go before it reaches the richness of its older twin and the many blessings the gods have placed upon Oceaus. For now Niman is inert dirt and nothing more.

And her second Act is returned to her, for simply naming a thing at its creation does not require an Act.

The First Aeon

Arcturus watches the formation of the Yandee with fascination. These guardians have a noble mission. I shall give them a gift to assist them.

With a flicker of will, Arcturus strengthens the mental capacity of the Yandee granting them the ability to sense the feelings of living creatures nearby.

With this new gift, the Yandee should have many advantages on Oceaus, including the ability to sense when hostile creatures are nearby.

And the Yandee is blessed by the god Arcturus, their minds are sharpened with the ability to sense the feelings of living creatures. This new empathic power deepens the bonds between Yandee, they can trust one another more readily, experience one another's frustrations or pain. It also opens them up to feeling just how deeply the resentment and and hosility runs in their Enlightened kin, in shock at these festering emotions the Yandee recoil from their Enlightened Kin, further deepening the divide between the two sects. The Enlightened mourn the loss of their kin, but remain resolute in this being yet another thoughtless wound created by beings with too much power. The Enlightened have made the area around the Yoneden their home and when they're not foraging they continue to collect the knowledge within the tree, learning of their older siblings the Quajrils and Amaroks. Already they are discussing sending out missionaries to Enlighten members of these other races, for the Tree has shown them just how little these other newborn races know.

The First Aeon

Osalus flew through the world, weaving its way from place to place. It thought of dwelling more on the Islands of Osu, but instead it shifted its focus and dove into the oceans. There it moved deep and freely.

As it did so a new form of life formed in its wake, long sleek creatures that enjoyed trill of movement as much as it did. They were smooth and sleek of body, with forms that always grew as they aged larger and larger. Horns and scales hardened like the ice around them and while they were made omnivores, they had a taste for both other creatures and a thrill of the hunt. Deciding to be fair to the Quajrils, it gives them a taste for Chigon, and a more playful nature with the Quajiril.

They were made for the waters and their lives started around warm waters yet as they aged they grew colder, larger preferred the waters and ice. To accommodate this Osalus gave them the ability to move through water in all forms equally, be it ice, water or mist. They could tolerate land, but they would not enjoy it.

Act 3: Osalus creates the Salu Ice Serpents

So a second predator is introduced to Oceaus, the SALU ICE SERPENTS, predators of water in all its forms, they are a new scourge. Hunting chigon, Quajrils, agraciada and Amaroks, the only safety to be found from Salu serpents is hard land (And even that is not entirely safe if it's raining hard enough.) With the appearance of a new predator, the remaining Quajrils of the inner sea are hunted to virtual extinction. The Quajril on the surface abandon the seas entirely and remain on the safety of the shores where life is free from predation, but the nomadic Amarok have no such reprieve, living on sheets of ice at the two poles, (Sheets of ice that might as well be water to the Salu Serpents) the Amarok have only two options, flee or hunt. In the southern pole fleeing becomes the cultural norm. All their camps are built in such a way that they can be dismantled quickly should the tribe need to flee a Salu attack. At the northern pole, the nomadic tribes take to fighting when attacked using spears of ice. These fights leave tribes devastated, but some of the hunters who manage to survive the initial encounters slowly refine their techniques and earn renown by the Salu skin hides they wear and serpent fang necklaces that mark their successes.

Meanwhile the Enlightened have sent out five emissaries to visit the nearest tribes of the other races. These emissaries intend to teach what the Yoneden has taught them of the cosmos and bring back any who wish to experience the Tree of Knowledge for themselves.

The First Aeon

Rhullarrk, who sought to bring the races together, looks down upon the "enlightened" Yondee and mourns the loss of these young children to cynicism and pride. And she fears that if the gods do not reach out to the other young races they too will easily fall into this trap. She also mourns the decimation of the gentle Quarjil of the inner seas. And so she turns her eyes away, for a time, from the fascinating moons, with their untapped potential and turns her focus to the Inner Sea.

ACT 3 Rhullarrk gives a vision to a Quarjil and gives her the name Spes

In that vision, Rhullarrk shows one of the few remaining Quajril a cave opening on the underside of Mirror Island thereby implanting in Spes the idea that the cave would be a great place to stay safe from the many predators in the oceans and that many Quajril might be able to live in the cave. And so leaving the Quajril with an overwhelming feeling of love and hope, Rhullarrk waits.

Granted a divine vision, one of the few remaining Quajril has their name become known to the gods. Spes sees a cave and passages of stone and air which lead away from the chigon and salu serpents. In the coming days Spes gathers the few other survivors she can find, less than a hundred, they set out following Spes and putting their faith in her promise of safety. The journey is hard, there are no safe places in the Inner Sea, only the illusion of safety during those brief moments of hiding. Dozens more of them are lost to hungry jaws and others begin to drop away, giving up on Spes' quest and retreating to the relative safety of solitude. Hope is flagging when it happens, they find the inverted tower that juts down and through the ice. Just as the vision foretold, Spes leads them to a cave. Inside there is no water, only a strange new substance they'd never encountered, air (Albeit so thin it's barely breathable.) On solid stone, for the first time these Quajril know what it feels like not to have a hungry predator shadowing their every step. So a stable tribe starts to form in the Inner Sea.

The First Aeon

Quajrils were hard pressed upon and their world was harsh and filled with monsters.  Eregor thought that perhaps they needed a little help.  Inspired by the acts of the other gods, Eregor decided to fashion a gift for the first people.

Eregor forges a connection between the first people and the moons of Oceaus.  As the moons pulled the tides of the watery planet, so could certain Quajril pull the Mana from each moon and use it to manipulate their world according to the nature of the Quajril and the nature of the mana of the particular moon from which it was drawn.

Eregor creates monmagi among Quajrils.

Eregor speaks to each monmagus, "I am Eregor, your maker, maker of the sky and the stars above it.  I have given you a gift of great power.  It is wonderful and it is dangerous.  Use it to protect and guide your people.".

Among the Quajrils Eregor blesses some to be MONMAGI, these individuals are capable of coaxing down mana from the moons during clear nights. Doing so requires the Monmagi to be capable of seeing the moon they wish to siphon, each moon is visible for a third of the month before its orbit carries it out of sight and its next kin appear. Amongst the Quajril tribes, these first attempts by the Monmagi are each very different.

Those who can see Celestia and draw from it bring down the shimmering silvery liquid. While they are inexperienced with magic, they quickly learn that Mana contains fascinating properties and the Monmagi are supported in their efforts to harvest the magical substance.

Those who were seeing the face of Yazul call down the Yazul Mana, filling a basin with the sludge-like mana. These Quajril are similarly impressed by its strange properties which change the world around it, but they learn to be wary of the stuff when the basin bursts into flames and spilling it causes an earthquake. Here the practice of the Monmagi is tolerated, but the non-practitioners wonder if it was worth the dangers it brought.

Those Monmagi who practice their talents for the first time while looking onto the face of Gael call down the yellow-tainted mana. The initial experiments with this distilled Gael Mana prove horrific, someone swirling a finger though the liquid has their finger entirely bitten off by the liquid mana, another daring soul in another tribe had sipped at the substance and fell into wracking pain while their body mutated and changed turning them into a monstrous creature that went on to violently attack its kin till it was put down. All those Quajril tribes who experimented with mana beneath the Gael moon outlaw the practice entirely.

These initial experiments are also fueled by Eregor themselves as the god makes first direct contact speaking with mortals. The Quajril are awed by this great voice from beyond and with the knowledge of Eregor the first religions spring up in worship of Eregor the Skykeeper, the practice of using monmagi gains religious significance and comes with invoking the blessing of Eregor. All save for those third of Quajril who first experienced Gael Mana. They too start to worship Eregor, but out of fear, for this is the god that brought them the monstrous mana. They hold ceremonies where they burn seaweed and kelp and pray for Eregor to withhold the blessings of the moon.

And still the Enlightened missionaries make their stead journeys to the other peoples, preparing to spread their message and knowledge. They will reach some of the Quajril tribes soon. Reaching the Amaroks will take significantly longer yet.
