Re: Out in the Storm

"Negative." The construct keeps hold of the ex-soldier, the pale light burning deep in it echoing the glow in the stolen body's eyes. "Self also: mission. Keep demons away from/from Father. Judgement not yours to gi-" the static catches it as it steps closer to the body "-you know you will not achieve it. Swallow that greed and join me, for unlike those that have ringed your sermon here I do not wish to destroy this flesss-" it twitches. "ss-static error. Demon null avaunt? Advise demon avaunt."

Its stance is more one for a quiet chat save for the hand around the throat. It remains still a moment, then looks up, pauses, and addresses O'Rourke:
"God says...says tell them to get off the street. Immediate command."
It steps back with its temporary prisoner, into the mud.

Re: Out in the Storm

The soldier's words momentarily shook the priest and he silently wondered how this creature knew anything of his past. If he had any uncertainty about the man's demonic origins, they vanished in the wake of what he had said.

"God says..."

The words from the construct shook him back into the present. O'Rourke wasn't certain of the source of Alouette's instructions, but given the unearthly nature of ranting soldier, he didn't doubt their wisdom. Turning to the others in the street, he said, "We need to clear the streets of innocents. Make certain that anyone that doesn't have any business out here gets to safety. This is about to become dangerous."

Filling his voice with the priestly authority he affected in sermons, O'Rourke shouted, "Everyone clear the streets! Get indoors NOW!"

[[OOC: Ok, then. I think it's time to move into Combat Rounds. Father O'Rourke, make an Intimidate or Persuasion check to get the lookie-loos to run, +1 because they're inclined that way anyway. That will be a free action, so you can still act.]]

"We'll see about that." It hisses, struggling in Alouette's grip. It twists and squirms, willing to tear its own flesh to escape.

[[Second Chance Billy Yank's Initiative: King of Clubs (Parry 6, Toughness 8, Hardy)]]

[[OOC: On it's turn it attempts to escape Alouette's grip. It rolls a 4 on it's strength check, spends a Red Benny from the enemy pool to add a die to that, and comes up with 1, for a total of 5, so Alouette must roll 5 or higher on either a Strength or Agility test to keep him pinned.]]

Re: Map!

John decided to forget about the sheriff, fact was they had a mortician who could likely determine that the damn thing was dead, he didn't want to take the chance of it hurting anyone. Once violence was joined he rushed forward his river stones in hand as his arm drew back, he fired with his momentum adding force to the blow a little nervous about potentially hitting Allouette. Thankfully he was in the clear it would seem as the stone struck home doing more damage than it had a right to.

[Private to GM: OOC: Alright, this is irritating, I swear I drew a BJ but there's no record of it whenver I refresh the dice log. So I drew two more cards just in case. Here's the status if the BJ is visible on your end:
You drew the single card: BJ! using a deck of 54 cards.
John Smith rolled 3,6,8,4 using d8,d6,3d6,d6. Bolt, Wild, dmg, run.
John Smith rolled 6,4 using d6,d6. Ace, possible raise.
John Smith rolled 5 using 1d6 with rolls of 5. 2nd ace without weird additional stuff.

Moveaction: running forward until I'm about 2" behind Allouette
Attack: spending 2 pp for a single bolt at 3d6 dmg.
Wild Die: +6 Ace: +6 Ace again: +5 running: -2 BJ: +2 = 17 for a hit with a raise.
8 on damage + 4 for raise +2 for BJ = 14 dmg total.
If you cannot see the BJ then I made a second initiative draw of 4H which will double as my next round initiative if you do indeed see the BJ Drew a 5C after that just in case.

[[OOC: I saw the Black Joker, yes: 21:20, Today: Secret Roll: John Smith drew the single card: BJ! using a deck of 54 cards. Init. I believe you. So. Your damage hit it enough to make it Shaken and inflict a wound. Nice Shot. It's going to spend a White Chip from the pool to attempt to soak...and rolls 2,3. Sucks to be an undead soldier.]]

The river stone flies like a bullet, striking the walking dead man square in it's left eye. The glowing eye pops, and the struggling thing grunts. It seems to have felt that, not that it seems to mind it much...

Re: Out in the Storm

The "angel" stands impassive, rain washing stagnant blood and chips of cheekbone off its surface. As the sky flashes a fair way away it twitches just a little, the hiss of building static almost lost under the beating rain.

"-a question, spirit, since...it seems you know me and I do not: am I the kind of entity that stands aside just a little more to aid the mortals' aim...or one that would let you go to break this poor clay and leave with...a pretense of dignity?" It's impossible to tell, with that expressionless brass head and the hiss of its voice, whether the construct is capable of being anything but deadly serious.

"...or am I...the kind of entity that would use its knowledge of the workings of this brass body to record and bind you to the wailing rock within its chest, and...consume you?" it allows a heartbeat's pause, ignoring any damage the soldier takes in the meantime. "I do not know. Perhapss-ss-" the construct checks the creature is still in its grasp. "static error."

Re: Out in the Storm

August has no doubt that this monster will try to hurt as many people as it can; he's already seen how much mercy the raised dead are capable of.  So he has to try to help, before it tears that metal creature into scrap parts.

Stepping up beside John, he levels his revolver, aims, and pulls the trigger twice.

[[OOC: Moving up to stand in the square above John.
18:27, Today: August Colby rolled 4,6 using d8+3,d6+3, rerolling max with rolls of 1,3. Double-tapping. It's not a miss, so we don't need to go to Innocent Bystanders despite rolling a 1. (Right? If I'm wrong, I'll use a white fate chip here.)
18:34, Today: August Colby rolled 7 using 2d6+3, rerolling max with rolls of 1,3. Damage. Sadly not much of an impact.]]

The automaton watches the bullet go past with more faint interest than it did the stone, then refocuses on its captive as the static builds.

"ha-le'ajilv." it says, and doesn't seem to expect an answer, just holding fast.

Raising his Spencer, O'Rourke breathed a prayer as he put the weapon to his shoulder. "Gracious Lord," he whispered as he blinked against the rain, "guide my hand that I might smite the wicked for your glory."

Miracle: Smite on O'Rourke's Spencer Carbine (2 Power Points)
22:17, Today: Father William O'Rourke rolled 4 using 1d6+2, rerolling max with rolls of 2. Faith - Smite.
22:17, Today: Father William O'Rourke rolled 6 using 1d6+2, rerolling max with rolls of 4. Wild Die.

OOC: Forgot the -2 for the Power Point usage, but factoring that in, I managed a success via the Wild Die.
