If the Mayor moved, your dark spot would...but you could try and find the edge and look out  or point the Hawk in approximately the right direction, set her off and follow the screaming ("snakes, birdie! They went that way!!") or use the opportunity and NPCs around to set up a base strategy for potential contact with more bulletproof Comanches.

Jake's doing pretty well, all things considered (bar the Taunting). The Hawk is actually doing her best to give him relevant information, it's just that her present state of awareness - as Jake's keenly aware at present - is like being horribly bereaved and amazingly hungover whilst trying to communicate in a foreign language...

I may be a bit sporadic for about a week starting late tommorrow, due to attending my grandmother's funeral (1917-2015, she had a good run of it) and sorting related family things.

My condolences - 98 years is indeed a great run, but it's still sad.

My thanks. It'd been some time since I could have a proper conversation with her, so it was a gradual loss, but there's still a sort of gap in my world where someone once existed and now does not.

On a related, darkly amusing note, my aunt's only just managed to fix the beaurocratic screwup that meant that technically, my long-dead grandfather was supposed to come into the office to sign the paperwork for the opening and addition of my grandmother to his grave plot...I tell you, they would be sorry if he did.

Just a reminder: From Saturday 11/21 to Tuesday 12/1 I'll be out of town and for some time out of country and probably unresponsive to RPOL. DC, Miami, and Buenos Aires, here I come!

Apologies for going dark for over a week now.
There has been some stuff that came up recently that made me (figuratively speaking) slam into a wall hard. I've been feeling exhausted most of the time since then.
I've seen my doctor and it seems I'm physically ok, but the stress of the recent months (both work and private life wise, with my brother and all) seem to have finally gotten to me.

That's why I'm taking it easy right now and refrain from using the internet too much, except a little Netflix now and then. If you'll bear with me and can give me a few more days to get my energy levels back up, I'll be happy to re-join. If you need to ghost me in the meantime or have me wander off into the distance and re-join the cast at a later time, I'm fine with either.

Alas that all I can offer is the sentiment of clank hugs. May things only improve.

sorry for being quiet, I've been pretty busy the last couple of weeks with preparing an important workshop that's finally happening tomorrow. Should have time to post on Thursday, if you'll bear with me.
