What's in your head, zombie?
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ejga4kJUts&ob=av2e">Some mood music</a>
Danny Boy:
A dark figure shuffled underneath him Danny glanced down, gripping the scythe, ready to strike...but what he saw, a shambling thing clad in a black army uniform, was about the last thing he expected to see...but it was clad in a uniform that wasn't gray, and, horribly, he thought he recognized the man it used to be.
All logic fled from him. What was left was the training. The urge to fight, past all reason and emotion. He had one ally now, and that would make all the difference in the world as far as he was concerned.
A battle cry sprang from his lips as he leaped out of the rafters and charged Gus Shaw. "For Missouriiiiii!"
He sliced downward with the scythe, tearing through the man's shirt, leaving a trail of red down his chest.
[[OOC: Danny Boy rolled 00 using d8-2,d6-2, rerolling max with rolls of 2,2. Fear!
Danny Boy rolled 1 using 1d20 with rolls of 1. Fright! That's an Adrenaline surge, which grants him a +2 to Trait rolls and Damage. Lucky stiff.
So he's going to charge Gus, as he's not thinking too clearly at the moment.
Danny boy leaps down and Wild Attacks Gus. (-2 darkness, +2 Wild Attack, +2 adrenaline surge): Danny Boy rolled 3,7 using d6+2,d6+2 with rolls of 1,5. Fighting!
Damage: +2 Wild Attack, +2 Adrenaline Surge: Danny Boy rolled 7 using 2d6+4 with rolls of 1,2. Gus is Shaken.

Private John Brown:
Ah, the sound of War and battle. How he had missed those things these long months since the war had halted (it wasn't over. It would never be over, if he had any say in it). And look! It was Danny Boy! Even better.
The skeletal thing lurched out of the barn, following his compatriot. He rushed towards the red-faced man, and saw something gratifying in the cattlehand's eyes.
"Glory, glory hallelujah! Glory, glory hallelujah! Glory, glory hallelujah!" the deadman cried as he swung his saber at Gus, who managed to turn it aside with his bowie knife but only just.
Then the deadman spotted something. A glow. A lantern. And, bearing it, a man, clad in the hateful colors of the Rebs. He aimed his colt at the advancing Charging Bear.
"His soul goes marching ooooon!" the dead man shouted as he pulled the trigger. The bullet flies true...
[[OOC: John Brown moves into view, and he's a hideous sight for Gus to behold. Gus makes a fear check (-4 for the fear level, +2 grit): Gus Shaw rolled 3,3 using d6-2,d6-2 with rolls of 5,5. Well, that sucks to be Gus.
Rolling on the fright table: Gus Shaw rolled 20 using 1d20 with rolls of 20. fright roll. Mark of Fear! Gus is Shaken, and also will suffer some cosmetic alteration that will lower his Charisma by 1. Since Gus is shaken by a non-damage source, that doesn't do anything extra to him.
John Brown move to flank and uses his Two-Fisted edge to make an attack against Gus and against Charging Bear. Charging Bear is still out of range
Attack Against Gus (Saber, -2 darkness) Private John Brown rolled 0, 4 using d8-2,d6-2 with rolls of 2,6. Fighting! That misses Gus's Parry of 6.
Attack Against Charging Bear (Colt Dragoon, -2 Distance) Private John Brown rolled 3,4 using d8-2,d6-2 with rolls of 5,6. Shooting! That's a hit.
Private John Brown rolled 8 using 2d6+1 with rolls of 5,2. Damage. Charging Bear is Shaken again.
Private John Brown drew the single card: JH]]
Gus Shaw:
Danny Boy's charge was unexpected, but the thing behind him?
That was just unnatural! Dead men should not walk!
The sight of the black-clad soldier stirred some primal revulsion in Gus, who had seen many terrible things during his time in the Rail Wars. All he knew was that he had to get away, and warn people!
He ran, dodging swings from scythe and saber. He ran towards the light, hoping, praying that it was someone friendly who wouldn't mind the honest mistake of being fired at before. "Oh god!" He cried as he ran. "He'll kill us all! Run! RUUUUUN!"
[[OOC: Gus spends a chip to become unshaken, and takes a Total Defense action while attempting to withdraw from combat (he wants none of this...he's overconfident, but not with 2-on-one odds against some walking dead man after failing a Guts check).
The Total Defense improves his Parry to 8 until his next action.
Danny Boy and John Brown get free attacks.
Danny Boy has a -2 penalty from darkness, and his bonuses are all used up. Danny Boy rolled 4,3 using d6-2,d6-2 with rolls of 6,5. Fighting!
John Brown also has penalties from the darkness...being undead doesn't mean he can automatically see in the dark. Private John Brown rolled 1,2 using d8-2,d6-2 with rolls of 3,4. Fighting!
Gus Shaw drew the single card: 2S]]
It is Charging Bear next...You can see figures moving, but you won't need to make a fear check until you get close enough to actually see the black-clad soldier in full.
