Wildcat actually uses some words her mother wouldn't approve of and smacks the snake with its fangs caught in her duster loose, kicking at it as it falls back.

Augustus pulled a large trumpet onto his head like a very strange brass hat, then backpedaled while pointing his gun at the snakes.

Can't cut and paste, but I have a 13 for Boost trait, and a 9D for next round.

Did not know that.  I was boosting Shooting, is it okay if I target every ally holding a gun?

Re: Chapter 17.1: The Second Coming ((Wendell Mine))

Wildcat snarls, her actions a blur as she swings the shotgun just a little upward and away from Murphy. Another shot booms down the tunnel as one of the twisty beasts becomes a ragged smear across the tunnel floor.

The Texas Ranger smacks the snake that struck out at her down again, back-heeling it then stepping back onto its skull with all her weight. Keeping her attention on the rest, she breaks her shotgun to reload.

Re: Chapter 17.1: The Second Coming ((Wendell Mine))

Ok, this ought to be fun... Murphy will swing that snake around and smack another snake with it.

22:40, Today: Mad Irish Murphy rolled 6,2 using d8,d6, rerolling max with rolls of 6,2. Fighting.

A hit! I'm assuming Str+d4 for damage. Total of 7.

22:41, Today: Mad Irish Murphy rolled 4,3 using d6,d4, rerolling max with rolls of 4,3. Snake club damage.

22:43, Today: Mad Irish Murphy rolled 1,1 using d6,d4, rerolling max with rolls of 1,1. Damage to Swung snake?

Murphy swirls the snake around, faster and faster, then twists his arm around and smacks its head straight against another snake as it rises up and bares its fangs to bite him.

Then he lets go of them.

Re: Chapter 17.1: The Second Coming ((Wendell Mine))

After being chopped, stomped, pummeled, pecked by birds, and swung around like a lariat, the snake spirits seem to have had enough and begin slithering away from the party.

((OOC: 2 more snakes go down from Wildcat's attack, while Murphy's swing just makes the snake dizzy and the other snake mad.

There are 8 active snakes, 6 downed ones.

By now the snakes have had enough, and are beating a retreat. They attempt to Withdraw from combat, acting Defensively for a +2 Parry bonus.

Charging Bear, Carl, and Murphy get a free attack against the retreating snakes.))

Carl motions to Murphy to see if he can find an intact snake head on the floor, taking a hard blink to try and clear his swimming vision.

The Ranger starts to run after the snakes, but catches herself as she passes Charging Bear and just stands there, trembling with confused fury.

"You all right?" she asks him.

Re: Chapter 17.1: The Second Coming ((Wendell Mine))

Wildcat was about to reply, but the sudden movement draws a bark of alarm: "No! You ain't allowed to die here, Carl!"

Carl winces away from the noise as she runs up to him, still blinking and shaking his head in an attempt to clear his vision. He holds out his snakebitten wrist to her in bad temper and absoloute faith, as though to say 'do something about it, then'. "..."

Wildcat glares at him and chucks her shotgun under her arm to get both hands on the wound, one supporting and one stemming the blood. "An' Jesus said '...these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.'"

She lets go; Carl raises a scarred but mostly-healed wrist and blinks until he can focus on the movement of his fingers, then nods. "'nks."

"You git killed, Ah swear I'll march right on down t'Papist Hell an' drag you back agin jest to kill ya." Wildcat tells him, close and intense and looking very much like she'd like to leave a bloody gloveprint on his cheek.

[[Wildcat Hawkins rolled 9,3 using d10,d6, rerolling max with rolls of 9,3. Holy healin', Batman!
Wildcat Hawkins rolled 3 using 1d6, rerolling max with rolls of 3. blue add. -> the requisite 12 if you're still willing to handwave poison and wound as the same thing.

Please ignore the red record on the dice roller - I had thought the first roll was 8.]]

Of the six downed snakes, four of them look to have their heads intact enough to draw venom from, provided someone knew what they were doing.

Re: Chapter 17.1: The Second Coming ((Wendell Mine))

((OOC: The most appropriate skill for this would be Survival (-2) for each head you want to milk for venom, with  failure indicating that the particular head is damaged and unusable in some way by the process, and a snake eyes indicating you've managed to poison yourself. The relic card would, in fact, be useful in fashioning a poisonous relic out of one of the heads.))

Re: Chapter 17.1: The Second Coming ((Wendell Mine))

Charging Bear frowned. "That's not good." He had dealt with snake bites a time or two, thanks to his grandfather he knew what to do. Quickly working, the native son sliced off a pair of heads and extracted venom from the dead snakes.

OOC:
09:21, Today: Charging Bear rolled 11,1 using d6,d6, rerolling max with rolls of (6+5)11,1. Survival (-2 GM, +2 Woodsman).

09:22, Today: Charging Bear rolled 5,6 using d6+2,d6+2, rerolling max with rolls of 3,4. White Chip (+2 Elan).
