Re: Out of Character chat

Greetings and salutations, Stolynn and Thatch ... now, which one of you sinners is going to buy a holy man a drink ?   I'm thirsty.  You're going to get a mention in my prayers ... up to you how that goes.  ;>

Battle priest, equally at home in the thick of the fighting as wrestling for souls.  Somewhat wearied by the war just ended, as there was no clear victory from all that striving and death (blames man, not the gods), but proud that he and his fellows at least fought bravely and with honour.

I'm here just about every day EXCEPT Mondays and Tuesdays, and I've played in ADM's games before and thoroughly enjoyed 'em. :>

Re: Out of Character chat

I've been working on a thief character, but I've been dragging my feet, trying to decide if I'm the right player for this game, given the heavy focus on posting rates.

Re: Out of Character chat

I would hate to see you go, but to be honest, if you  don't feel like you can post at least once every three days then perhaps it is for the best. That is why I have been so up front about it.

Let me know...

Soory my character is not done my significant other is Irish, redhead and came in wanting some company if you get my meaning so spent my character time with her. No excuses other than come on who here would pass up being with their lover to game? I thought so.

I'll give it a shot....

The character is a human thief, goes by the name Shank.  His real name...  That's a closely guarded secret.  :)

Re: Out of Character chat

This is bothering me any chance we can just get a certain amount of gold and xp value in magic items and we can figure that out this nebulous "pick out stuff and get a magic item later" is bothering me. I like fixed amounts this is not a freeform game the DM should give us clear parameters that is just how I am I like clear numbers.

Re: Out of Character chat

In reply to Stolynn (msg #30):

I think the DM gives out starting magic item(s) and gold.  Depending on what he thinks would balance the character and game.  Of course he could just let us pick :)

Now who wanted to read and write, Just need a good quiet place and a book or three, some paper and ink.  Might be good to start with drawing in the dirt.  I can get sticks and a nice clean dirt spot to start.

hhmm, Shank, Scout for the Paly and a investigator for the Priest.  Me, I am cool with equal opportunity feller, just not my pouches please :)

Re: Out of Character chat

Okay Sotlyn, limit yourself to 450 gold, and count your primary weapon as the magic item.

Everyone else, pick whatever regular equipment you want, and magic items will come out soon.

Re: Out of Character chat

Hey guys, new here, looking forward to gaming with you and our illustrious GM!

Haven't figured out my character yet, have to dust off my 2e books.  Hard to believe it's been 20+ years since I bought 'em... :)

From back-reading the posts, it seems the party has a Thief, Barbarian, Paladin, Magic-User, and a Cleric... anything missing?

Re: Out of Character chat

I think we got the basics covered, so I think it falls back to what do you want to run.  In a gritty campaign, more meat shields... uh, warrior types, is always appreciated by those of us who aren't so combat oriented.

Re: Out of Character chat

I have absolutely no issue playing a fighter.  I've got the Complete Fighter's Handbook, and the Complete Book of Humanoids... I'll browse both this afternoon and see what I can think up.  I obviously will avoid "paladin" and "barbarian" type kits. :)

Re: Out of Character chat

Maybe a Flind? hehehe... I have the best picture, if you want to be a stoner Flind who acts as the party man-servant, and can fight as well. Sort of a POW turned friend?

In reply to ADM (msg #39):

A Meat shield er I mean a fighter of any worth is great to hide behind I mean kill all our adversaries while us support group members helps out our way.  Ranger may be good for rounding out fighter classes but a POW flind could be fun to order around um I mean run :)
