Imperial Prison Facility

Early the next morning, a young Felucian scout showed up to guide you to the prison facility.  As you waded through the jungle, he helped you to avoid obstacles, like the insect swarms and sinkholes you had run into before, as well as rancors that you only ever heard from the distance.  Your guide didn't say much on the way, especially since Vazus wasn't there to translate, leading you to the facility with solemn determination.

The journey didn't take long, and soon you were peaking through the foliage at a squat, two-story building in characteristic Imperial style: gray walls with a slight outward slant, no visible windows, and a plain visage that left no room for accoutrements.  The second story was visibly smaller than the ground floor, and blinking lights lined the top floor's edges.  Crowning the roof was the anti-aircraft gun turret that had been the reason you couldn't just fly straight in.  A large set of blast doors denoted the ground floor entry to the building, with stormtroopers standing by.  A single gun turret jutted out a few meters to the door's left.  You could also hear the low hum of speeder engines, indicating that there might be scout troopers on patrol nearby.

OOC: Make Perception checks to see if you notice anything else.

Your Felucian scout started tugging on Connus' sleeve and pointing to an area of the jungle that would take you around to the back of the facility.  As you all followed, he soon led you to the northwest corner of the building.  He pointed at the wall of the facility, and you could all see that just within reach (height-wise) was a ventilation grate that was barely hanging on its bolts.

With that settled your Felucian guide took up a hiding position with a good view of the surrounding area and the shaft.

As you climbed into the shaft behind the grate, it was a tight fit for each of you, except for Talamon.  Fortunately the shaft was short and the four of you soon found yourselves in the northwest corner of the Imperial facility.  The inside was just as Imperially cold and grey metal as the outside.  You saw that you were at the corner of two hallways, one that headed south and one that headed east (OOC: see the game map).

The stormtrooper appeared down the hallway, his blaster rifle aimed at Urb'n.

Talamon walked out into the hallway and waved his hand.  "It's just a couple of Rodus," Talamon suggested.  Urb'n gave him a glare at being referred to as a type of rodent.  Talamon just shrugged.  "It's nothing to worry about.  You can go back to your post."

"Oh, well if it's just some Rodus, I can go back to my post," the stormtrooper concluded.

"Come on, let's just go in here," Talamon said, indicating the door he was standing next to.

Re: Imperial Prison Facility

Talamon hit the door activation button and you all filed into the room.  The vast chamber seemed at first to be a place of healing.  Three large tanks filled with bacta, but currently empty of patients, lined the far wall of the room.  But when you looked more closely at the tanks, you could see wear and scratches on the inside of each tank, showing that whatever had been floating in them had tried to claw its way out.  Other medical equipment was distributed haphazardly throughout the area.  The entire room had the same sterile smell as a medical bay.

You heard a voice call out, "What now?"  And you saw at the computer console next to the bacta tanks a male Human dressed in the sterile white robes of a doctor, though the man seemed to be little more than a scientist.  The insignia of the Empire was visible on a patch on each shoulder, but otherwise he looked like a normal medical researcher.  In between you and the researcher was a 2-1B medical droid.  At first the researcher looked annoyed at having been interrupted in his work, but as realization sank in that you were intruders, his countenance changed to one of fear and anger.  He slapped a button on the console in front of him, and pointing at the four of you, ordered, "Attack them, kill them."

It was only then that you noticed the two operating tables with clamps and other restraint devices, laying in the room with no real pattern to their arrangement.  Now that the clamps were released with the researcher's push of the button, a large, strange Felucian arose from each table.  These Felucians had clearly undergone some kind of mutation.  Their muscles bulged and their bodies seemed to bend in unnatural places.  The creatures' right forearms had been removed entirely, and instead a long bone blade extended from the elbow, growing out of the flesh with a ragged, serrated edge.  Thick, tough-looking scales grew out of the Felucians' bodies.

OOC: Roll for Initiative.  Also, note the Game Map for your position and those of your opponents.  Red is for your opponents (MR = Medical Researcher, D = 2-1B, F1 = Modified Felucian 1, F2 = Modified Felucian 2), green is for your allies (C = Connus, T = Talamon, U = Urb'n, J = Jack).

The creature grunted slightly as most of the energy from Jack's shot glanced off the armor-like scales on his abdomen.

Talamon reached out his hand and both Felucians doubled over in pain as if hit with a giant fist.  The table that the second Felucian had been laying on was crushed and the bacta tank closest to you shattered, spilling its contents across the floor.  "Oops," Talamon said sheepishly at the last two effects that he had clearly not intended.

Urb'n pulled out his lightsaber, activated it, and slashed at the Felucian diagonal from him, his lightsaber easily cutting through the creature's armor and nearly dissecting him, ending the Felucian's life.

The remaining Felucian cautiously moved towards the group, and reaching Jack first, attempted to impale him on his bone-blade.  Fortunately the attempt was a little clumsy and Jack sidestepped the blow.

"You attack them too," the medical researcher instructed the droid from his hiding place.  The medical droid attempted to comply with its master's request, but was unable to navigate the slippery floor and fell at Connus's feet.  The droid got back up and Connus tried to push it back down, but almost slipped himself.  Instead he pulled out his blaster and prepared to help with the fight.

The medical researcher pulled out a blaster of his own and attempted to fire at Urb'n, but you could all tell by his aim that he was clearly not qualified to use the blaster, and his shot went nowhere.

The two lockers on the east end of the room were easy enough to search.  Between the two of them there were 10 medpacs, 2 medical kits, and 10 injectors, each loaded with a serum of some kind.  Finding a tool kit, however did not prove so easy. In the end though, Talamon was so determined to find one, that he scoured the entire room.  He finally found it underneath the computer console on the north side of the room, near where the droid had been when the group had come in.

"Here," Talamon said, handing the kit to Jack.  "Could you please repair, and then reprogram the droid to go back to the village and help with the sick kids?"  Then he turned to Urb'n, "And if you wouldn't mind using one of the medpacs to give me some first aid, I would greatly appreciate it."

"Well look who thinks he's in charge," Connus commented, his tone dripping with sarcasm.  Talamon gave him a dry look, and then turned back to the other two imploringly.

"We can just take all these other supplies with us as well," Urb'n said.

"No, we should send some of it back with the droid to the village," Talamon countered.

"Before we send this droid anywhere," Connus said, "I have a few more questions.  Droid: you mentioned a Captain Vischera, please tell us more about him."

"Captain Vischera is a former Imperial scientist who is now the head of this prison facility," the droid answered.

"And why were there these altered Felucians here?" Connus pressed on.

"Captain Vischera has been altering the genetic code of Felucians to create mutant warriors," came the reply.

"And where did he learn how to do that?" Connus pondered more to himself than to the droid.

But the droid answered anyway: "During the Clone Wars the Techno Union performed experiments on the natives of the planet Nelvaan, transforming them into massive, violent warriors that could be bent to their creator’s will.  When the Confederacy collapsed, those Separatist secrets fell into the hands of Captain Vischera.  After months of experimentation, Vischera has managed to create two such monsters out of Felucian hosts, though we did go through several hosts in the process."

"So, these two creatures were the culmination of his work," Connus stated.

"Oh no," the droid replied.  "The two hosts here were only part of the evolutionary process, kept here for further observation."

"I see," was all Connus could think to say to that.

OOC: I thought so, I was just checking...
"Well of course we'll take care of them" Connus replied.  "We're going to blow up the facility, remember?"

It was no trouble copying the files out to Connus' and Urb'n's datapads, but when Jack went to erase the files, the computer must have realized something was wrong, because it shut off his access to the secret program files.

Meanwhile the others continued to debate what to send back with the droid:
"Okay, I agree we should keep the healing stimulants," Talamon conceded, "because we don't know exactly how well they work.  But we should send everything else back with the droid to the Felucian village."

"No way," Connus said, turning back from his comment to Jack.  "We're the ones risking our necks here, we need them all for us."

"How about this," Urb'n said, stepping in as mediator.  "Let's keep four medpacs--one for each of us--and one medical kit.  We'll send the other three medpacs and the other medkit back with the droid."

"Fine," Talamon said, truly satisfied with the compromise.

"Fine," Connus said, less pleased with the arrangement, but clearly recognizing that he wasn't going to get anything better.

Re: Imperial Prison Facility

Not even bothering to gather the common supplies, the group moved onto the next door.  When they opened it, they found that the bulk of the room was taken up by computers and other communications arrays. The far wall jutted outward slightly to make room for a massive computer column, which obviously formed the base of the satellite dish attached to the top of the facility. Blinking lights and flashing monitors indicated that the station was obviously in constant communication with someone, and displays showed sensor readouts from around the station and elsewhere on Felucia.

There was one comm operator directly across from the door, but with his back to the door, facing his station.  He didn't seem startled at the opening of the door, and in fact had not yet even turned around to see who had entered.  There were also two more operators farther into the room near the computer column.  All three wore dark gray uniforms and an Imperial Army helmet, with a blaster pistol holstered at their hips.  Additionally, a datapad and other communications equipment were tucked in pouches attached to their belts, giving the impression that they were both soldiers and technicians.

Standing behind the pair of comm operators was a young officer with a scowl on his face who looked like he was itching for a fight.

Connus quickly drew his pistol before any of the Imperials could react.

The winded comm operator got up, still a little stunned and looked around to see what had happened.  Urb'n moved in quickly and finished off the guard with his lightsaber.  He then zoomed over to the Imperial officer.

Jack nailed the comm officer through the back, blowing a hole in his chest.  The dead tech slumped onto the computer station in front of him.

Talamon drew and ignited his lightsaber in one swift motion, then moved into the room, headed towards the Imperial officer and gave him an upwards slash with the glowing blade.

The officer stood boldly, despite the wound and barked at his remaining tech, "Comm officer, sound the alarm, call for reinforcements.  Meanwhile, we'll handle these scum."  He boldly drew his blaster pistol, firing it at Talamon.  The young Jedi was barely able to deflect the shot with his lightsaber.

Connus came running in, moving around the back of the computer column, to come up on the last tech's blind side.

The comm operator let his fingers fly over his console, and soon the group could here a soft pinging from the console.  The operator then stood up, readying to draw his weapon.

Urb'n impaled the arrogant officer with his lightsaber before moving quickly over to engage the last opponent.

The comm operator jerked as Jack's shot went through his shoulder, but he continued to move for his weapon.

Talamon moved around the column to flank the operator.

Connus moved a little bit closer and then fired at the operator, blowing a hole in his chest.  "Well, that was fun," Connus noted sarcastically.

"What is that sound?" Talamon asked, referring to the pinging coming from the most recently killed comm operator's station.

"It looks like our friend sent a message to the command center, letting them know we're here," Connus said looking over the station.

"Can you cancel the alert?" Urb'n wondered.

"I should be able to," Connus replied.  "Assuming I can convince the commanding officer that it was just a false alarm.  Meanwhile, you and Jack should get started planting those explosives we promised the Felucians we'd use to destroy this facility."

Then Urb'n asked Connus, "So how did things go with the commanding officer?"

"Thanks to my prodigious skill, I was able to convince him it was a false alarm," Connus bragged.  "But we've got bigger problems than the captain of this facility.  A high priority message was just received from a Star Destroyer in orbit around Felucia."  Connus pointed to the screen, and as the rest of the group crowded around, they saw the following message:

As the rest of them moved to head out, Urb'n stood still.  When the rest of them looked at him, Urb'n said "I don't think you guys realize how dangerous this has become.  I'm sure you two," Urb'n indicated Connus and Jack, "know that an Inquisitor is an imposing figure.  But they don't just interrogate traitors and fight rebels.  They're Jedi hunters--and you've got one Jedi and one former Jedi with you."

"So all the more reason to get out of here," Connus urged, as he grabbed the code cylinder out of the dead lieutenant's uniform.

"Don't worry," Talamon comforted.  "If we leave soon enough, he'll never even know we were here."

Urb'n nodded slowly and they headed out of the Comm Center.

With no more rooms to explore down this corridor, the heroes headed around the corner to the next set of doors, hoping that they had finally found the prison block.  When they opened the double door, they were indeed satisfied with the fact they had arrived in the right place; but they were probably not satisfied with what else they found.  The narrow corridor down which the heroes were staring was flanked on each side by smaller chambers into which they could not see.  The corridor led to massive double doors made of heavy steel.  This small prison block was unlike most Imperial detention centers, for the heroes could see that beyond the doors, instead of individual holding cells, there was an open but secure area where the prisoners shared a living space.  They could see in the large holding area four prisoners lingering anxiously.

Just in front of the prison doors on each end of the narrow hallway stood two tall, angular droids with thin bodies and long, spindly arms.  The tips of their hands sparked occasionally with blue energy and their large, glowing eyes seemed to scan the room with vigilant awareness.  One of them spoke up, announcing in a tinny voice: "Halt!  You are not authorized to enter this area."

"Droids, to whom are you speaking?" The question came from a distinctly human voice somewhere off in the alcove to the heroes' left.

"There are some intruders, sirs," one of the droids answered, implying there was more than one human in the alcove.

Before Jack could get his shot off, Urb'n'ploon drew his lightsaber, ignited it and charged towards the droid on the left (D1), cutting through the droid with ease.  The droid sputtered but remained functional.

Jack's follow up shot to the same droid missed.

Talamon rushed past Jack taking on the other droid, and doing nearly as much damage to it as Urb'n had to the first.

The droids responded in kind, rapidly stunning both Urb'n and Talamon, who were shocked, but relatively unharmed.

One of the human guards came from around the corner, saw what was going on and fired at the closest target, Connus.  His shot did not even come close to threatening the Twi'lek scoundrel, who fired right back, grazing the guard's rib cage.  Connus then moved to cover in the chamber to the right (down on the map).

The second guard came out from the other antechamber and fired at Jack, but his shot didn't even distract Jack.

Urb'n, swiped at his metal opponent again, completely destroying the droid.

Re: Imperial Prison Facility

Jack remained in the middle of the floor, with no cover whatsoever as the battle continued on.

Talamon attacked his metal assailant again, and as he sliced through the droid with his lightsaber, all the lit indicators and power seemed to drain out of it as it slumped to the floor.  Talamon then moved over to confront the remaining detention guard.

Connus shot around Britton and Talamon at that last guard.  The guard's head exploded from the shot.  Connus came out from behind the wall he had been using for cover.  He blew on his blaster and said "It's a good thing I practice shooting near people I don't want to hit."  He moved towards the area from which the guards had come.  "Now, let's see if we can't get this cell door opened."  He pulled one of the small levers on the computer console in the alcove, and the doors hissed open.

Urb'n ran into the cell, making sure to put his lightsaber away, so as not to threaten the prisoners, and to keep from giving away what he was.  "Gilder Varth, we're looking for Admiral Gilder Varth," he called out to the prisoners.

A slightly overweight man with close-cropped gray hair and a bushy mustache stepped forward.  "I am Gilder Varth," the man said.  He had clearly seen better days: his right eye was swollen and bruised, and a trail of dried blood stained the corner of his mouth.  His officer's uniform was tattered so severely it was barely recognizable.  "What do you want?"

"We're here to rescue you!" Talamon exclaimed, entering the cell.

The former Imperial admiral eyed the teen-aged Jedi, up and down.  "I see.  While I'm grateful to be freed, I'm a little confused.  It was my understanding that my rescue was to be accomplished by Bail Organa's staff, not hired freelancers."

"I'm afraid our mutual contact found us as the best option to accomplish that task," Talamon said, careful not to mention Organa directly.

"Very well," Varth conceded.  "So what now?"

The prisoners gave a brief acknowledging nod.  Two of them grabbed the guards' blaster pistols, while the other prisoner took one of the guard's batons.  Then they ran out of the detention block door, heading towards the front exit of the prison.

As they left, Talamon muttered "May the Force be with them," quietly under his breath.  Urb'n rolled his eyes slightly, still not wanting to buy in to the Jedi ways, despite having had to use the Force on several occasions during this mission.  Connus said "Don't be naive, they're doomed."  When Talamon wheeled on him, Connus added "But that's not our problem, let's get moving," and he started heading back to the hallway.  Talamon huffed as Connus pushed past him, but didn't bother to instigate any more arguments.

The group made their way carefully back to the ventilation grate in the northwest corner of the facility.  "Alright, Jack you first," Connus suggested, and he and Urb'n gave Jack a boost in.  Next came Admiral Varth, then Talamon and Connus, and Urb'n brought up the rear.  As Jack reached the end of the shaft, he saw a disturbing sight: Just outside the grate, a large number of stormtroopers stood around the crumpled body of their Felucian guide, and an AT-ST stomped around the exterior of the facility.

"What's the matter son?" The admiral asked.  "Why are we stopping?"

"But there's a turret on the roof, remember?  That's why we couldn't just fly in." Urb'n replied.

"I know," Connus retorted.  "We're going to have to take over the command center and disable the roof turret, then comm Captain Okeefe and have her pick us up."

"At least they won't have an AT-ST up there." Talamon said, not very convincingly.

Re: Imperial Prison Facility

The group made their way back to the turbolifts near the center of the facility.  When they arrived, Talamon tried merely pushing the "Up" button, which elicited no response whatsoever.  "Do you think they let just anyone come up?" Connus asked in a snarky tone.  Talamon shrugged sheepishly.  "Most likely it requires a code cylinder to be inserted into that jack." Admiral Varth offered, pointing to a spot next to the turbolift operator buttons.

"Well then, it's a good thing I swiped dear old Lieutenant Aden's code cylinder," Connus said, pulling out the cylinder and inserting it into the jack.  Within moments the turbolift door opened, revealing an empty tube compartment.  Everyone filed in and they headed up to the second floor.  When the turbolift doors opened, the heroes could see that though the four-pod turbolift cluster filled the center of the room, this large chamber--obviously the command center--was alive with activity.  Large banks of computers lined the walls, showing tactical displays of multiple Imperial facilities, including this one. The room seemed to be designed to allow officers to monitor multiple situations at once, with displays and holographic projections showing many locations simultaneously. Two large cargo platforms sat at each side of the room, seemingly providing access to the roof.

In the southwest corner of the room, near a holographic display table, stood a tall, sickly Imperial officer, who appeared to be in dire need of both food and sleep .  Standing next to him was a towering monstrosity that was once a Felucian, but now it more closely resembled a beast than a sentient being. Its right arm had been replaced by a bone blade fused into the elbow joint, and its muscles rippled with unnatural strength. Chitinous plates had been grafted onto the creature’s body .  It seemed to be the successful culmination of the experiments the heroes had stumbled onto in the research lab downstairs.  Another of the creatures stood off towards the east wall .  There were also four stormtroopers spread throughout the command center, two of them close to the turbolift in which the heroes were standing .

Re: Imperial Prison Facility

Gilder Varth spoke just loudly enough for the four other heroes to hear.  "Boys, we need to take out that big fella first."  He put his hand on Jack's shoulder.  "Son, I need you especially to concentrate on that thing."

The monstrosity closest to you let out a inhuman roar before stomping towards Urb'n, who had been the first to step out of the turbolift.  Each lumbering step it took caused the floor to rumble with its weight.  When he was close enough to Urb'n he swung at him with his bone blade.  The blade sliced up the side of the Kel Dor's body.  Urb'n screamed through gritted teeth before trying to return the favor.  Though his blade cut through the monster's armor, he still did not do much damage.

OOC: Jack's turn.  Don't forget your extra action.  Also note the updated map.

Re: Imperial Prison Facility

Jack pointed his weapon at the mutated Felucian and fired twice.

OOC
Attack 1:  16(roll)+5(attack)+1(point blank shot)=22
DMG: 1+7+1 (rerolled via assured attack)+3=11

Attack 2:  3+5+1=9
DMG: 2+2+3+2=7

Jack receives no penalty for shooting into a melee and treats DMG threshold as if it were 5 lower.

Re: Imperial Prison Facility

The energy from Jack's first shot seemed to be half-absorbed by the creature's natural armor plating, doing less damage than Urb'n's attack, and it seemed to make the creature more angry than hurt.  Jack had taken his second shot too quickly, and the blast went over the creatures shoulder.

As Captain Vischera turned around to face the turbolift, a dark malevolence flitted across his eyes, and his hands curled into twisted, angry claws. His graying hair would have given him an almost distinguished appearance if it weren’t for the cruelty so plain on his face.  "Hagark, protect me from this pathetic intruders.  Kargrek get over here and help.  Stormtroopers, eliminate these pieces of scum."  The captain drew his own blaster pistol, readying himself to aid the stormtroopers in their attacks.

Talamon stepped forward to stand next to Urb'n and slashed at the mutated Felucian's enormous legs.  His cuts seemed to be doing the most damage so far, causing the monster to scream out in pain.

Jack could hear the clomping of boots that he knew meant the two stormtroopers that were out of sight were moving into position.  Meanwhile, the two stormtroopers close by raised their readied blaster rifles, concentrating their fire on Jack.  Even with Captain Vischera helping them, they only managed to hit the edge of the turbolift.

Seeing how ineffectual blasters were against the mutated Felucian's armor, Connus fired over Talamon's shoulder at the nearest stormtrooper, melting the trooper's plastoid helmet into his skull.

Meanwhile, everyone could feel as well as hear the other Felucian lumbering their way, soon coming into sight around the corner and closing in on Urb'n.

Gilder spoke up again, "C'mon boys we need some breathing room, we've got to get rid of this monster."  Then more quietly to Jack added, "C'mon son, you can do this."

Meanwhile the monster that Captain Vischera was calling Hagark, turned his attention to Talamon, swinging his enormous bone blade, nearly cleaving the young Padawan in two.

Urb'n desparately swung his lightsaber at the beast, hoping to open up enough space to allow them to get away from the other creature, but his resolve was wavering and his blade merely glanced off the creatures armor doing no harm.

OOC: Jack's turn.  Also note updated map.  The white (erased) portion is where S2 used to be, before he died.

Re: Imperial Prison Facility

As Jack tried to slip by him, Hagark took a side swing at him .  The blow sliced through the first few layers of Jack's skin and broke one of his ribs .  Jack managed to push through the pain and still fire at the captain.  Jack's rib cage made him spasm during his first shot, causing him to miss.  He steadied himself for the second shot, and ended the captain's life.

Meanwhile, Talamon tried a different tactic, using the Force to slam all their opponents in the vicinity.  The two monsters looked like they had barely been bonked on the nose, but the two stormtroopers north of Kargrek (F2) were both killed by the blow.

The only remaining stormtrooper had a clear shot on Jack, and he took it.  In Jack's injured state, he barely missed dodging the blast, which seared into his left arm

Connus fired at Hagark, hoping to clear a path for the rest of them to escape.  The beast fell over, unconscious.  Connus immediately ran out of the turbolift and around the corner.

Kargrek roared at the defeat of his fellow monstrosity, swinging his fused blade down at Urb'n.  The blow nearly cleaved the Kel Dor in two.  He should have been dead, but the Force was with him, barely sustaining his life.

Gilder moved out of the turbolift as well, moving next to Jack.  "You've done well boys.  Keep it up, we're almost out of here.  We just need to finish that monster."  (OOC: You all get +1d6 dmg vs Kargrek until Gilder's next turn.)

OOC: Jack it's your turn.  Also note updated map.

Re: Imperial Prison Facility

Jack's shot blew a piece of the monster's physical armor off, causing him to stagger.

Talamon dragged Urb'n away from the mutated Felucian and around the corner towards Connus.  He placed his hand gently on Urb'n's forehead.  Urb'n started to stir, but Talamon was looking even more drained.

The stormtrooper daringly defended his area, firing at Connus.  The shot hit the outer wall of the turbolift to Connus' left.  Connus fired right back, but the shot just missed the stormtrooper.

Kargrek stepped over the body of his fallen comrade as he headed toward Jack.  He bellowed and swung a heavy blow down towards Jack, but Jack easily sidestepped the attack.

"This is going to be it, boys," Gilder said to Jack and Talamon.  "Urb'n is still down, but I think this creature is on it's last leg.  You can finish him."

OOC: You all get +1d6 dmg vs Kargrek until Gilder's next turn again.  Jack, it's your turn.  Note the updated map.

Re: Imperial Prison Facility

Jack's shot hit in between the shoulder and head plates right at the neck, nearly taking the creature's head off and killing it instantly.

Seeing that the monster was taken care of, Talamon moved weakly, but determinedly over to the group's only remaining opponent, the last stormtrooper.  The Force was with him as his lightsaber struck a blow against the trooper.  The stormtrooper fired back at Talamon, hitting him right in the chest.  Talamon went down, and seemed to be holding on to life only by the will of the Force.

Connus fired at the stormtrooper over Talamon's crumpled body, but couldn't find his mark.

Gilder tried to continue to encourage Jack and Connus, as Urb'n scrambled to his feet, clearly still groggy.

OOC: It's back to you Jack, and your team is dropping like flies.  Note the updated map.

Re: Imperial Prison Facility

Jack's shot missed, but divided the stormtrooper's attention.  However, the trooper still considered Jack as the lesser threat, with Connus the closer opponent.  He fired at the Twi'lek, but Jack's distraction was an advantage to the scoundrel, causing the trooper to miss.

Connus responded in kind, letting loose with his heavy blaster rifle.  However the Twi'lek had no better luck than Jack or the stormtrooper had.

OOC: Right back to your turn, with pretty much no change in the situation.

Re: Imperial Prison Facility

Jack's shot hit the stormtrooper in the torso, and he slumped over.

"Finally," Connus sighed.  He moved over to the computer console behind the trooper.

Connus soon had Captain Okeefe on the comm.  "What is taking you guys so long?" the pilot asked impatiently.

"We've had a slight change in plans," Connus retorted.  "We need you to come pick us up on the roof of the facility."

"What about the turret?" Sirona asked cautiously.

"It'll be disabled by the time you get here," Connus answered.

"I'm on my way then," she replied.

Connus immediately started busily punching buttons to disable the turret.  "I'm also enabling those cargo platforms," Connus told Jack and Varth.

"Very good," the admiral said.  "Jack, I know we're not in great shape, but I think we're going to have to help Urb'n and Talamon over to those platforms."

Re: Imperial Prison Facility

It took some effort, but Jack was able to heft Talamon over to the closest cargo platform.  Varth put his arm under Urb'n's shoulder and helped him over to the platform, though he was barely in a condition to do so himself.

Soon Connus joined them, pressing a button on a pad on the wall next to the platform.  The platform rose slowly up through the ceiling, bringing them to the roof.  Jack could see the turret hanging lifeless towards the ground.

It didn't take long for Captain Okeefe to bring the Banshee swooping in, laser fire from the AT-ST below spattering ineffectually against the ship's shields.  The landing ramp lowered and Connus quickly sprang onto it.  Next Varth and Urb'n hobbled aboard, followed by Jack carrying Talamon.

Connus closed the ramp and called up the hallway that they were all aboard.  Captain Okeefe immediately blasted off.  As they all continued panting in the hallway, Connus said.  "Jack, since Urb'n doesn't look to be in as capable of a position as you, you might want to detonate those explosives before we get out of range of the detonator."

Re: Imperial Prison Facility

Jack could feel as much as hear the explosions ripping through the Imperial Prison Facility.  As the Banshee shrieked away from the lush fungal world below, Jack looked out the viewport and could barely make out the shape of an Imperial Star Destroyer.  Before the Star Destroyer would even have had a chance to detect them, the stars around the Banshee extended into streaks.

OOC: To see what happens next, move to the Interlude 1 thread.
