Re: Imperial Prison Facility

Jack nailed the comm officer through the back, blowing a hole in his chest.  The dead tech slumped onto the computer station in front of him.

Talamon drew and ignited his lightsaber in one swift motion, then moved into the room, headed towards the Imperial officer and gave him an upwards slash with the glowing blade.

The officer stood boldly, despite the wound and barked at his remaining tech, "Comm officer, sound the alarm, call for reinforcements.  Meanwhile, we'll handle these scum."  He boldly drew his blaster pistol, firing it at Talamon.  The young Jedi was barely able to deflect the shot with his lightsaber.

Connus came running in, moving around the back of the computer column, to come up on the last tech's blind side.

The comm operator let his fingers fly over his console, and soon the group could here a soft pinging from the console.  The operator then stood up, readying to draw his weapon.

Urb'n impaled the arrogant officer with his lightsaber before moving quickly over to engage the last opponent.

OOC: Jack's turn.  Note the updated map.

Re: Imperial Prison Facility

OOC: C3 has been dead since msg#81.  So I'm going to assume you mean the only living opponent left, C1.  I'm also going to move Jack so he has LOS so he can shoot, though he'll be firing into melee, he has Precise Shot, so there's no penalty.

The comm operator jerked as Jack's shot went through his shoulder, but he continued to move for his weapon.

Talamon moved around the column to flank the operator.

Connus moved a little bit closer and then fired at the operator, blowing a hole in his chest.  "Well, that was fun," Connus noted sarcastically.

"What is that sound?" Talamon asked, referring to the pinging coming from the most recently killed comm operator's station.

"It looks like our friend sent a message to the command center, letting them know we're here," Connus said looking over the station.

"Can you cancel the alert?" Urb'n wondered.

"I should be able to," Connus replied.  "Assuming I can convince the commanding officer that it was just a false alarm.  Meanwhile, you and Jack should get started planting those explosives we promised the Felucians we'd use to destroy this facility."

OOC: Jack and Urb'n make a Mechanics check to plant the explosive, while Connus does his thing.

Re: Imperial Prison Facility

Jack and Urb'n were able to successfully set the explosives so that the entire building would explode when they pushed the detonator.

Then Urb'n asked Connus, "So how did things go with the commanding officer?"

"Thanks to my prodigious skill, I was able to convince him it was a false alarm," Connus bragged.  "But we've got bigger problems than the captain of this facility.  A high priority message was just received from a Star Destroyer in orbit around Felucia."  Connus pointed to the screen, and as the rest of the group crowded around, they saw the following message:

quote:
//ROUTED...SECURITY ENCRYPTION CONFIRMED
//FROM PRAKITH CITADEL COMM CENTER VIA HOLONET NODE 6673-ALPHA
//FROM NODE 6673-ALPHA VIA STAR DESTROYER ASSIDUOUS
Priority 1 Message Follows:

Prepare former Admiral Gilder Varth for transfer to the Citadel. Inquisitor Draco will be arriving within a standard Felucian day/night cycle to take custody of the prisoner. You are instructed to have your medical technicians ensure that Varth is fully rested and at his highest possible strength.

Interrogation chemicals should be administered to Varth upon notification that the Inquisitor has arrived on Felucia. Varth will be transferred by shuttle to the Assiduous before Inquisitor Draco takes custody. Time from administration of interrogation chemicals to transfer to the Inquisitor's personal transport should fall within an acceptable window of 27 to 54 minutes.

"Are you kidding?" Connus asked incredulously.  "I'm not going to wait around here for a day for more Imperials to show up.  There's enough here already.  We're going to have enough trouble grabbing the admiral and escaping now.  Let's just get him, get back to our rendezvous and get our money."

Re: Imperial Prison Facility

As the rest of them moved to head out, Urb'n stood still.  When the rest of them looked at him, Urb'n said "I don't think you guys realize how dangerous this has become.  I'm sure you two," Urb'n indicated Connus and Jack, "know that an Inquisitor is an imposing figure.  But they don't just interrogate traitors and fight rebels.  They're Jedi hunters--and you've got one Jedi and one former Jedi with you."

"So all the more reason to get out of here," Connus urged, as he grabbed the code cylinder out of the dead lieutenant's uniform.

"Don't worry," Talamon comforted.  "If we leave soon enough, he'll never even know we were here."

Urb'n nodded slowly and they headed out of the Comm Center.

With no more rooms to explore down this corridor, the heroes headed around the corner to the next set of doors, hoping that they had finally found the prison block.  When they opened the double door, they were indeed satisfied with the fact they had arrived in the right place; but they were probably not satisfied with what else they found.  The narrow corridor down which the heroes were staring was flanked on each side by smaller chambers into which they could not see.  The corridor led to massive double doors made of heavy steel.  This small prison block was unlike most Imperial detention centers, for the heroes could see that beyond the doors, instead of individual holding cells, there was an open but secure area where the prisoners shared a living space.  They could see in the large holding area four prisoners lingering anxiously.

Just in front of the prison doors on each end of the narrow hallway stood two tall, angular droids with thin bodies and long, spindly arms.  The tips of their hands sparked occasionally with blue energy and their large, glowing eyes seemed to scan the room with vigilant awareness.  One of them spoke up, announcing in a tinny voice: "Halt!  You are not authorized to enter this area."

"Droids, to whom are you speaking?" The question came from a distinctly human voice somewhere off in the alcove to the heroes' left.

"There are some intruders, sirs," one of the droids answered, implying there was more than one human in the alcove.

OOC: Note the updated map.

Well, they were caught, there was no way around it.  If they could dispatch the droids before the officers came around the corner they'd be better off.  Jack fired his rifle at the one on the left.

Re: Imperial Prison Facility

Before Jack could get his shot off, Urb'n'ploon drew his lightsaber, ignited it and charged towards the droid on the left (D1), cutting through the droid with ease.  The droid sputtered but remained functional.

Jack's follow up shot to the same droid missed.

Talamon rushed past Jack taking on the other droid, and doing nearly as much damage to it as Urb'n had to the first.

The droids responded in kind, rapidly stunning both Urb'n and Talamon, who were shocked, but relatively unharmed.

One of the human guards came from around the corner, saw what was going on and fired at the closest target, Connus.  His shot did not even come close to threatening the Twi'lek scoundrel, who fired right back, grazing the guard's rib cage.  Connus then moved to cover in the chamber to the right (down on the map).

The second guard came out from the other antechamber and fired at Jack, but his shot didn't even distract Jack.

Urb'n, swiped at his metal opponent again, completely destroying the droid.

OOC: It's Jack's turn.  Note updated map.

Re: Imperial Prison Facility

Jack remained in the middle of the floor, with no cover whatsoever as the battle continued on.

Talamon attacked his metal assailant again, and as he sliced through the droid with his lightsaber, all the lit indicators and power seemed to drain out of it as it slumped to the floor.  Talamon then moved over to confront the remaining detention guard.

Connus shot around Britton and Talamon at that last guard.  The guard's head exploded from the shot.  Connus came out from behind the wall he had been using for cover.  He blew on his blaster and said "It's a good thing I practice shooting near people I don't want to hit."  He moved towards the area from which the guards had come.  "Now, let's see if we can't get this cell door opened."  He pulled one of the small levers on the computer console in the alcove, and the doors hissed open.

Urb'n ran into the cell, making sure to put his lightsaber away, so as not to threaten the prisoners, and to keep from giving away what he was.  "Gilder Varth, we're looking for Admiral Gilder Varth," he called out to the prisoners.

A slightly overweight man with close-cropped gray hair and a bushy mustache stepped forward.  "I am Gilder Varth," the man said.  He had clearly seen better days: his right eye was swollen and bruised, and a trail of dried blood stained the corner of his mouth.  His officer's uniform was tattered so severely it was barely recognizable.  "What do you want?"

"We're here to rescue you!" Talamon exclaimed, entering the cell.

The former Imperial admiral eyed the teen-aged Jedi, up and down.  "I see.  While I'm grateful to be freed, I'm a little confused.  It was my understanding that my rescue was to be accomplished by Bail Organa's staff, not hired freelancers."

"I'm afraid our mutual contact found us as the best option to accomplish that task," Talamon said, careful not to mention Organa directly.

"Very well," Varth conceded.  "So what now?"

OOC: Does Jack have any reply?
