Re: Please see the GM Announcement Thread

For heaven's sakes, none of you guys are even ALLOWED to apologize for not posting.  Your GM has been shamelessly absent.  I wish I could say I see a light at the end of the tunnel when I know I"ll be able to resume regular and frequent posting, but that would be a lie.  A lie, I tell you.

Posting

Finished for tonight.  Priorities tomorrow (to get things going again):

  • Elijah/Jonathan - having a troll eat Elijah ... I mean, respond to Elijah
  • Feeding Gabhran info to get him, Abby and Amhairghin off after their next quarry.
  • Amira, Tristan, Euron -- getting them moved along to the scene set up for the angry local villagers.
  • Mobley - teleporting his group onto a frozen lake to try to find something in the belly of a dragon.
  • Donato and Max -- getting them to the next step with the Red King
  • Charan and Josep -- depends on where they decide to go (or if Tandro seeks them out).

Survey - Please respond

All --

Things continue to limp along, as I am sure you have noticed.  There are lots of things going on work- and family-wise, and despite feeling extremely guilty about not posting, I'm just not able to do so with any regularity.  I don't want to shut the game down, but I need to be transparent with you folks -- I'm not sure that over the next 60-90 days when I'll be able to get back to regular posting.

I'm trying to figure out how to handle the continuing busy-times.  Your responses to this survey would be very helpful in making up my mind.

Survey - Please respond

All --

Most of you (all but 2) have responded to the survey; I've prompted the last two players -- one or both of them might have decided from the lack of posting that they're already out, but I wanted to make sure.

Within the next couple of days, I should have a plan for what to do until I can get past this insanely busy time at work.  I truly appreciate everyone's patience, and I hope you all have other games to keep you entertained.

Survey - Please respond

Next post in the GM Announcement thread -- should be the notice thread at the top of the list:

All --

Of the responses received, everyone is either (a) put threads completely on ice, even if mid-scene or (b) just post whenever, with the goal of 1 post per week per thread.  I'm going to go with the latter option through mid-June -- if I can post more often, I will.  Jury selection for my Seattle trial is set to start on June 24th, and the trial is expected to last through the end of July at least -- so at that point I may go to the "on ice" option for the duration of the trial.

But I am not going to let the game die just because of my trial schedule.  I want to get back to it, and wrap up storylines, and see the PCs be Big Damned Heroes.

If you expressed interest in having a new thread opened to play around with flashbacks for your PC, let me know -- you can free-form your stories, enlist fellow players to run PCs.  If you're interested in running NPCs for other folks, let me know and I'll give you an alias to use for such posts.

If you need to get in touch with me quickly, use the email address posted in the last message in the thread entitled "Plan for the Next 6-8 Weeks."

So...

What shows are folks watching on TV?

I'm glad for the return of 12 Monkeys and Person of Interest, at the moment.

I don't have a TV but I watch a lot of Netflix.

Recently rewatched Community and Brooklyn 99, quite fun.
I've discovered a fantastic Australian series called Utopia/Dreamlands ; I should warn though, it's a show about Aussie urban planners, so it's probably only funny if you're either or both.

Looking forward to catching up on game of thrones.

I used to be able to watch US Netflix with a VPN but now I'm stuck with the UK catalogue... Not bad but certainly not as extensive.
Also a couple of shows I was watching were only available on Canada or New-Zealand Netflix... :(

I mostly watch Bar Rescue, Life or Debt, and Ink Master.

I'm terrible at watching television for 'series'.  Even with a regular job, you almost always need a Tivo or a willingness to deprive yourself of sleep.

Yeah, we gave up the watching at time-of-show a long time ago.
We still record a few series, but tend to just but a series on DVD, rewatch the whole show, and avoid the annoyance of commericals or missing things because somebody was playing on facebook, or had to go pee a 6th time same episode, or 3rd phone call from same relative, or...

Really, if it wasn't for HD sports programming and odd special, we'd probably just axe the whole connection.

I have started thinking about dumping our cable TV, but I'm not very serious about it yet.  There are still some sports I like to watch live.  And some shows I don't want to be spoiled for.

In addition to 12 Monkeys and Person of Interest, we've been watching Amazing Race this season (we used to watch it all the time, but stopped for a bit). Still watching Castle, though we both think it has probably told its story and should wrap things up.  James Spader in The Blacklist is fantastic and is far better than everyone else in the show. Limitless was a surprise in a good way. And we are glad Orphan Black has returned.  Oh, and Elementary is well done, even if the mysteries are convoluted.

Not the Royal We, BTW. The GM and I are We, in case anyone didn't know that we are married.

Now Copa America Centenario, at least as long as the USMNT is in it. I'll keep an eye on Mexico, Brazil and Colombia, too.

Looking forward to the UEFA Euro Championship (as it has been renamed). I still need to get my Germany jersey.  It's become a kind of tradition since I got back into watching Futbol with the 2006 World Cup. Having German ancestors and being a US citizen, those are the jerseys I get at each competition, along with the host country's.

 Man that's a lot of jerseys !
I don't follow or watch football except for the World Cup and Euro Cup, so I hope this one holds up to its promises.

We set up a sweepstake in the office, and I ended up with Hungary... not much luck there.

I'm going back to rooting for France and Spain.
Although I'm really excited about Iceland ! Tiny country, not neighbours to play with, no grass to play on, everybody's named Siggurdson, and they have surprisingly good result !

Ha! As I read this, Hungary is up 1-0 over Austria, and Austria is down to 10 players.

I'm looking forward to watching Iceland, too, though we have a meeting about getting our kitchen redone during today's game.  Next week, I guess.

Well! Go Hungary! That was a nice surprise.
Also, nice one Iceland, and shame on the bitter Portuguese ;)

The new job is great. There's clearly more means given to make good social housing refurbishment.
Speaking English every day all day is a bit taxing, but I'm getting used to it!
Friendly international team, very competent and a pleasure to work with (so far ;)
And well, living in London is a perk on its own!

How's the court preparation going on her end?
