I don't know if anyone is still on RPOL and might see this pop up with a new message alert, but given the state of affairs in the world right now, I thought I would drop a line or two.
We're hunkered down in Bucks County, PA with two teenagers, a dog and a cat, and lots of dried beans and frozen food. And dog food and cat food and cat litter. My firm's Philadelphia office is closed (finally -- lawyers and other professionals were work from home, but with the state asking all non-essential businesses to close, we're now closed closed), so I am now 100% Work From Home. Not that I really have a hell of a lot that needs to be done, since the courts are ALSO closed and the three trials that were lined up like dominoes have all been postponed.
So I'm crocheting. A lot. (Those of you who made the mistake of friending me on FaceBook, and the second mistake of NOT muting me there, already know this. How many scarves can one person own? WE'RE GOING TO FIND OUT, GENTLE READERS, WE'RE GOING TO FIND OUT. Actually, I've been giving most of them away, but if I'm not going to the post office any time soon, they're going to pile up in the corners. Anyway, anyone need a scarf? A baby blanket? A shawl? Just find me on Twitter (
https://twitter.com/_ShysterB) or Instagram (
https://www.instagram.com/_shysterb/) and DM me, yo.
In other news, I tempted the fates this morning by volunteering to hand out sacked meals to low-income kids in our township who are left food insecure with the schools closing. The school district is going to start doing this tomorrow, but that left a short gap that the local rotary club stepped in to fill. It was a cold 4-1/2 hours from 6:30 to 11:00 am. And tomorrow, I'm further tempting fate by signing in voters for a special election (why has it not been postponed? Ask the Pennsylvania Speaker of the House. Hint: He's GOP, and he does not want it combined with the presidential primary later this month. Please pardon my politics. Actually, don't.) We'll be using gloves and hand sanitizer and wiping down the voting machines, and I even bought extra packs of ball point pens so voters can have a NEW FRESH UNTOUCHED ONE (at least until I run out) to fill out their ballot.
After the counting is done tomorrow, the spouse (Tandro, a/k/a AJ) may tell me I have to spend the next 10-14 days in the basement. Or maybe not, that's where the booze is and he'll want to be able to access that. So ... garage?
I hope you and your loved ones are safe and well, and stay that way.
